Book 10th Working Conference on Reverse Engineering

Download or read book 10th Working Conference on Reverse Engineering written by Arie Deursen and published by Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers(IEEE). This book was released on 2003 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 35 papers in WCRE 2003 reflect the state-of-the-art in software reverse engineering. Reverse engineering examines existing software assets and infers knowledge regarding their code structure, architecture design and development process. Such knowledge is invaluable in the process of maintaining, evolving and otherwise reusing existing software. Equally important, this process enables the consolidation of experiences into "lessons learned" that can shape new software-development practices.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reverse engineering encompasses a wide spectrum of activities aimed at extracting information on the function, structure, and behavior of man-made or natural artifacts. Increases in data sources, processing power, and improved data mining and processing algorithms have opened new fields of application for reverse engineering. In this book, we present twelve applications of reverse engineering in the software engineering, shape engineering, and medical and life sciences application domains. The book can serve as a guideline to practitioners in the above fields to the state-of-the-art in reverse engineering techniques, tools, and use-cases, as well as an overview of open challenges for reverse engineering researchers.

Book Software Quality

Download or read book Software Quality written by Stefan Biffl and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-09 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 4th Software Quality Days Conference (SWQD) held in Vienna, Austria, in January 2012. The selection of presentations at the conference encompasses a mixture of practical presentations and scientific papers covering new research topics. The seven scientific full papers accepted for SWQD were each peer-reviewed by three or more reviewers and selected out of 18 high-quality submissions. Further, six short papers on promising research directions were also presented and included in order to spark discussions between researchers and practitioners. The papers are organized into topical sections on software product quality; software engineering processes; software process improvement; component-based architectures; risk management; and quality assurance and collaboration.

Book From Requirements to Java in a Snap

Download or read book From Requirements to Java in a Snap written by Michał Śmiałek and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-01-14 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a coherent methodology for Model-Driven Requirements Engineering which stresses the systematic treatment of requirements within the realm of modelling and model transformations. The underlying basic assumption is that detailed requirements models are used as first-class artefacts playing a direct role in constructing software. To this end, the book presents the Requirements Specification Language (RSL) that allows precision and formality, which eventually permits automation of the process of turning requirements into a working system by applying model transformations and code generation to RSL. The book is structured in eight chapters. The first two chapters present the main concepts and give an introduction to requirements modelling in RSL. The next two chapters concentrate on presenting RSL in a formal way, suitable for automated processing. Subsequently, chapters 5 and 6 concentrate on model transformations with the emphasis on those involving RSL and UML. Finally, chapters 7 and 8 provide a summary in the form of a systematic methodology with a comprehensive case study. Presenting technical details of requirements modelling and model transformations for requirements, this book is of interest to researchers, graduate students and advanced practitioners from industry. While researchers will benefit from the latest results and possible research directions in MDRE, students and practitioners can exploit the presented information and practical techniques in several areas, including requirements engineering, architectural design, software language construction and model transformation. Together with a tool suite available online, the book supplies the reader with what it promises: the means to get from requirements to code “in a snap”.
