Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote these poems spontaneously to express deep feelings of pain, disappointment and love always accompanied with a lot of faith and hope for help to receive from above. I also use humor and describe different situations and individuals, especially our dog, Turbo (Yogie). I always take time to make my poems rhyme. On some of the pages you will find images of paintings or drawing that I have created or photographs that I have taken. Just like the art I create, my poems are inspired by real life. Some from my own experiences and most of them from other people's lives that I know or have heard. They describe real feelings that will evoke my readers' sensitivity and empathy. I made certain to include humor because life, even though it gets hard and painful, it has it's funny side that we should think of when things get tough. Also, to soothe the pain we give importance to faith, hope and love from above. I thought my rhymes keep the consistency in these poems and make them interesting enough to keep reading until the end of the book. Also encourages anticipation of my next book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You and Change is about how to handle yourself and your life in times of change. Coping with our lives and our relationships with the people in our world depends on how successful we are in managing ourselves. It is through self-reflection, self-knowledge and self-acceptance that we are able to manage ourselves. Change is not only an external cause that befalls us. How open we are to communicate with the world depends on how much we like ourselves, how much we understand ourselves and how motivated we are. We harbor change like a vessel. We are the recipients as well as the motor of change. The universe is sometimes called the big man and human is sometimes known as the small universe.' This book has been written with a deep enthusiasm for the changes we are currently undergoing and with a strong belief in the power of each individual to contribute to the game between The Big Man' and the The Small Universe.' This is a practical handbook on how to refine our human powers as actors and recipients of change as we are experiencing a revolution of the individual.

Download or read book Poetry at Work written by Glynn Young and published by T. S. Poetry Press. This book was released on 2013-11 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There is value in taking poetry to work, and finding the poetry that's already there. Publications like "Harvard Business Review" and "FastCompany" are starting to write about the power of poetry-noting poetry's effectiveness in building creative thinkers and problem solvers. Yet there is no single source to guide those who are *at work* every day, with little direction for how to explore the power of poetry in the workplace. Glynn Young's "Poetry at Work" is that guide. From discussions about how poetry is built into the very fabric of work, to practical suggestions on how to be a poet at work, this is a book that meets a very real need. Altogether-a landmark book that moves beyond David Whyte's seminal book on poetry and the corporate world. More than just philosophy, this book brings the hope of practice and surprising discovery, the benefits of stress relief and increased accomplishment. *** The Masters in Fine Living Series is designed to help people live a whole life through the power of reading, writing, and just plain living. Look for titles with the tabs "read, write, live, play, learn, " or "grow"-and join a culture of individuals interested in living deeply, richly.

Book excerpt: An absorbing novel of romance and revolution, loyalty and family, sacrifice and undying love We have three souls, or so I'd been told. But only in death could I confirm this.... So begins the haunting and captivating tale, set in 1935 China, of the ghost of a young woman named Leiyin, who watches her own funeral from above and wonders why she is being denied entry to the afterlife. Beside her are three souls—stern and scholarly yang; impulsive, romantic yin; and wise, shining hun—who will guide her toward understanding. She must, they tell her, make amends. As Leiyin delves back in time with the three souls to review her life, she sees the spoiled and privileged teenager she once was, a girl who is concerned with her own desires while China is fractured by civil war and social upheaval. At a party, she meets Hanchin, a captivating left-wing poet and translator, and instantly falls in love with him. When Leiyin defies her father to pursue Hanchin, she learns the harsh truth—that she is powerless over her fate. Her punishment for disobedience leads to exile, an unwanted marriage, a pregnancy, and, ultimately, her death. And when she discovers what she must do to be released from limbo into the afterlife, Leiyin realizes that the time for making amends is shorter than she thought. Suffused with history and literature, Three Souls is an epic tale of revenge and betrayal, forbidden love, and the price we are willing to pay for freedom.
