Book excerpt: A personal account of how a hopelessly addict smoker with severe health problems got off of smoking and became truly healthy. The book is written as instruction and guidance for those who seek a spiritual and non-drug method to free themselves from tobacco addiction. It defines addiction and nicotine withdrawals as what they truly are; you may be surprised. It shows the relationship between addict and addiction and how a deep wedge is simply formed between the two to setup for success. It answers many questions about quitting tobacco. But above all it provides a spiritual help guide from a man that was unchurched yet demonstrably successful. Meaning that anyone can do this, and the results are unique to the individual, gentle and permanent. It handles all aspects of ridding yourself from addiction to tobacco, even smokeless and the new e-cigarettes. The later being a hi-tech form of nicotine delivery and therefore addiction. The methods and guidance demand the person does NOT struggle. Simply changes in mindset are put forth through tried and true, universal spiritual practice. It is designed specifically to substitute the spirit of addiction for the spirit of a Higher Power according to the understanding of the person reading the book. My story has helped others through an oral account; now in writing in the simplest way I can tell it but still get the spiritual principles across it is available to you. I wrote it with the struggling and desperate addict in mind.

Book How to Stop for Good

  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book How to Stop for Good written by Carmen M Pena and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2023-12-03 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: So you want to stop - smoking, smokeless tobacco and/or vaping for good and you may have asked yourself hundreds of times, "how"? For years I asked myself the same question. In fact, I tried to quit so many times I became an expert at quitting. It was the staying quit and stopping for good that was the issue for me. You may find this to be true for you as well. I had to find a way to feel good about the process of stopping something that used to feel really good to me. Along the way I discovered I had to become clear on the reason why I wanted to quit. The one thing I knew for sure I needed to change was my "why". I also realized using the word "quit" wasn't helping me. The word "quit" may have a negative connection. It's almost as if we "quit" because we couldn't keep doing something but it doesn't feel like an empowered choice. Maybe if I switched to the word "stop" it could help me to feel like I was making a positive choice to stop a behavior that was no longer serving me. Somehow this felt better. Eventually I came to the conclusion that it was time for me to take control of my life and not allow an addiction to have control over me. The addiction was driving my choices and that did not feel good. It was time to take my power back. Once I was honest with myself, two things shifted my perspective. The first was, the only one who can choose to smoke was me. And the second was, the only one who could choose to stop smoking was me. In full transparency, this is a humble attempt to give someone like you hope that you too can stop for good just like I did. To share with you what I wish someone shared with me when I was searching for a solution or support for years. Out of need, desire and sometimes desperation, I have taken the time to read, explore and learn healthy ways to change my life. I have also professionally counseled thousands of people to do the same over the years. I am giving you the footprints on a roadmap so you can follow it to make your journey a little easier and more successful than if you were doing this on your own. Lastly, consider this as a gentle reminder that you are not alone. Oftentimes we think we're the only ones going through something difficult. Or, that we don't have what it takes to achieve hard goals. Or we may feel weak because we have not been able to stop in the past. I myself have had all of these feelings and thoughts at one time or another. Although it's human nature to feel and think this way at times, there is another way. This book will help you to to discover and explore ways that may work for you. The truth is millions and possibly billions of people like you and I have faced unhealthy habits or addictions at some point in our lives. With a deep desire, a willing attitude and trusted guidance, anyone can change and conquer anything they want. Together we'll focus on the most simple yet powerful steps you can take to create positive change in your life. You may find the strategies and mindset changes we talk about can be transferred to other areas or things you would like to transform or achieve. If you're ready to receive helpful guidance on how to make healthier choices and create a happier life, then this is the book for you.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every smoker at some point has tried to quit. If you're reading this then that means you've probably failed in your attempt too! Quitting and failing are both parts of the process of addiction. Every smoker is an addict and addiction needs to be understood if you want to quit for good. There are so many quitting aids on the market - gum, patches, vapour cigarettes etc. But they don't solve the addiction problem - they replace it. This is the most basic situation that most smokers face as they try to give up tobacco - and it is also the reason people fail. I should know I smoked for twenty years and tried to quit for about 19 of those years. In other words, I was unsuccessful for 19 years! I tried gum, patches, gum & patches at the same time, vapour cigarettes, herbal cigarettes etc. But still the feeling of panic would get me if I couldn't get that nicotine fix when I wanted it. This always led to me lighting up again. Does this sound familiar to you? There is a very huge difference between knowing you should stop smoking and stopping. We all know that smoking causes health problems. We all know we shouldn't smoke but still we keep on puffing away. It doesn't matter what our loved ones say, or what the doctor tells us or any of those things, the addiction is so strong it overrides our common sense. However, once you understand addiction and habit, you too can choose to quit for life. Everything changes when you know why you're addicted. As I started to focus on understanding how tobacco was controlling me, within weeks I was smoke free. That was over 4 years ago now and, well to be honest it was quite easy! I went from 20+ cigarettes a day to zero, with no relapses or problems. It really is a simple five step process and once you understand addiction, you too can be smoke free for life!
