Book The Ruff Guide to Trading

Download or read book The Ruff Guide to Trading written by Steve Ruffley and published by Harriman House Limited. This book was released on 2015-09-30 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If it's trading, then Steve Ruffley has seen it and done it! Steve Ruffley has been involved in the finance industry for 15 years and is currently chief market strategist and head of education at InterTrader. In his Ruff Guide to Trading, he shows you the markets through his eyes. He reveals how he sees trading as a whole, how he assesses and exploits trading opportunities, and how he thinks about risk. He also describes three of his winning strategies. The focus of the Ruff Guide is intraday trading; everything covered relates to finding and making money from short-term trading opportunities that arise as part of everyday market moves. At the heart of Steve Ruffley's approach is a very simple 80-20 rule for understanding market movement. This is that market moves are 80% technical and 20% fundamental. He explains the fundamental and technical aspects you need to use to get the right balance in your market analysis and shows how to put these into practice with examples from real-life market action. Steve also explains why success at trading first requires you to understand yourself and your fellow traders, and provides guidance to help you gain this understanding. The Ruff Guide is the result of Steve Ruffley's thousands of hours of trading, charting and teaching experience. Pick it up to follow the simple and accessible guidance of someone who has seen and done it all before.

Though the torture and abuse that killed him were real, Andy Gage's death wasn't. Only his soul actually died, and when it died, it broke in pieces. Then the pieces became souls in their own right, coinheritors of Andy Gage's life. . . . While Andy deals with the outside world, more than a hundred other souls share an imaginary house inside Andy's head, struggling to maintain an orderly coexistence: Aaron, the father figure; Adam, the mischievous teenager; Jake, the frightened little boy; Aunt Sam, the artist; Seferis, the defender; and Gideon, who wants to get rid of Andy and the others and run things on his own. Andy's new coworker, Penny Driver, is also a multiple personality, a fact that Penny is only partially aware of. When several of Penny's other souls ask Andy for help, Andy reluctantly agrees, setting in motion a chain of events that threatens to destroy the stability of the house. Now Andy and Penny must work together to uncover a terrible secret that Andy has been keeping . . . from himself.

Book excerpt: From the author of Lovecraft Country: Myth and reality collide on a college campus “in a comic fantasy of wonderful energy, invention, and generosity of spirit” (Alison Lurie). Stephen Titus George is a young writer-in-residence at Cornell University in upstate New York. A bestselling author in search of a new story, he sees his life as a modern-day fairy tale starring himself as a would-be knight trying to woo a lovely maiden—or, actually, two: the bewitching Calliope and his guiding light, Aurora Borealis Smith. But he’s not quite in control of the narrative. There’s another writer with even greater influence on campus. The unseen Mr. Sunshine is an eternal, semi-retired deity who’s been fashioning his own story for centuries. He has all his characters in place: dragons, sprites, gnomes, and villains. And now, finally, his hero. As Mr. Sunshine’s world comes to fabulous and violent life, how can Stephen decide his own fate if it’s already being plotted by a god? An epic of life and death, good and evil, love and sorcery, Fool on the Hill lands Matt Ruff happily on the shelf between Tom Robbins and J. R. R. Tolkien for every lover of the “funky and fantastical” (New York magazine). “Inspired . . . rich in flavorful language . . . [a] dazzling tour de force.” —San Francisco Chronicle “The plot comes together like a brilliant clockwork toy.” —Locus

Book excerpt: The critically acclaimed author of Lovecraft Country returns with a thrilling and immersive virtual reality epic—part cyberthriller, part twisted romantic comedy—that transports you to a world where identity is fluid and nothing can be taken at face value. John Chu is a “sherpa”—a paid guide to online role-playing games like the popular Call to Wizardry. For a fee, he and his crew will provide you with a top-flight character equipped with the best weapons and armor, and take you dragon-slaying in the Realms of Asgarth, hunting rogue starships in the Alpha Sector, or battling hordes of undead in the zombie apocalypse. Chu’s new client, the pseudonymous Mr. Jones, claims to be a “wealthy, famous person” with powerful enemies, and he’s offering a ridiculous amount of money for a comprehensive tour of the world of virtual-reality gaming. For Chu, this is a dream assignment, but as the tour gets underway, he begins to suspect that Mr. Jones is really North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, whose interest in VR gaming has more to do with power than entertainment. As if that weren’t enough to deal with, Chu also has to worry about “Ms. Pang,” who may or may not be an agent of the People’s Republic of China, and his angry ex-girlfriend, Darla Jean Covington, who isn’t the type to let an international intrigue get in the way of her own plans for revenge. What begins as a whirlwind online adventure soon spills over into the real world. Now Chu must use every trick and resource at his disposal to stay one step ahead—because in real life, there is no reset button.

Download or read book THE MIDDLEMAN written by Daniel G. Zerfas and published by Author House. This book was released on 2003-06-25 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Middleman is a fascinating look into the Middle East in the 1970’s: a time of great conflict precipitated by the 1973 war between Israel, Egypt and Syria, and the economic boom that created unprecedented wealth. These circumstances are the background for many of today’s Middle East crises and the missed opportunities to resolve them. Although many of the events in the story actually occurred, The Middleman is a fictional memoir centered on a Hassan Al Sawwaf, a flamboyant Arab financier, and his American lawyer. In this dynamic setting of enormous transactions and festering political conflicts, Al Sawwaf emerges as one of the wealthiest men in the world. Al Sawwaf hires Dan Quinlan to handle his legal affairs. Quinlan develops a close personal relationship with Al Sawwaf, becomes his chief executive, and finds himself in an endless drama of business crises and personal conflicts. Al Sawwaf wants to become the J.P. Morgan of the Middle East. In pursuing his goal, he meets a wealthy American hotelier, Arthur Landau, who is Jewish and has close ties to Israel. Al Sawwaf and Landau develop back channel communications between Israel and the Arab world to try to settle the 1973 conflict. This sets off complex maneuvering and political intrigue by the players. Then, Al Sawwaf comes under scrutiny from the U. S. Government for alleged connections to Watergate slush funds and corrupt business practices in Saudi Arabia. Biased U.S. prosecutors and politicians seek to discredit Al Sawwaf and the Royal Family. The U.S. media describes Al Sawwaf as a disreputable middleman and arm's dealer. Al Sawwaf believes Israel is behind these investigations. Subsequently, the U.S. indicts Al Sawwaf for assisting the President of the Phillipines in the purchase of some office buildings in New York. Conflict develops between Al Sawwaf and Quinlan because Al Sawwaf has ignores Quinlan’s advice. Quinlan has difficult choices. He wants to maintain a personal relationship with Al Sawwaf as his lawyer, but must resign as his chief executive. Quinlan believes he has failed Al Sawwaf because of the legal and business problems. Al Sawwaf relishes the opportunity to prove his innocence and the conspiracy against him, and does not see the impact of his indictment on his business and relationships.
