Book Encyclopedia of Vedic Astrology Remedies

Download or read book Encyclopedia of Vedic Astrology Remedies written by Shanker Adawal and published by Sagar Publications. This book was released on with total page 22 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are large number of books available in the public domain which talks about various remedial methods that could be followed. Also there are groups of people who talk about the benefits of yoga, mantra, yantra and allied topics, each of which has a scientific logic as is the case with the manuscripts left behind by the Rishis. As we all are aware, there are planets which by their interaction, govern our destiny. My belief, developed during the study of this science, is that destiny depends on four major things in equal proportion. These are; our previous karma, the place where we are staying, the people with whom we interact and our own efforts. These are the four parameters and within each comes the important of a large gamut of activities. There is a complex equation that is a matter of study and research which, like any other science, gets deciphered and known. I therefore believe that chart at the time of birth, coupled with the year’s horoscope and the time at which the query is being asked, have to be co-related and a vector from them gives the correct analysis of the query. Similarly, as each planet is associated with a colour and the colours are in turn related to vibrations – a complex phenomenon by itself; the various mantras, colour therapy and other remedies have relevance.

My body, my mind, my intelligence, my emotions, or none of the above? And where did they put those explosive findings? In a sprawling body of goosebumpy and fascinating oral literature called the Upanishads! Intimidated? Don’t be! For this joyful, fun guide to some of India’s longest-lasting secular wisdoms, reinterpreted for first-time explorers by Roopa Pai, is guaranteed to keep you turning the pages. Book Pax Gandhiana

Download or read book Pax Gandhiana written by Anthony J. Parel and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2016 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Notwithstanding his contributions to religion, nonviolence, civil rights, and civil disobedience, among other areas, Gandhi's most significant contribution is that as a political philosopher. While he is not often treated as such, Gandhi was, as Anthony J. Parel argues, a political philosopher sui generis, both in his philosophical method of constant self-criticism and his framework of philosophical analysis. Gandhi wrote daily on politics, but he did so as an activist; political philosophy was to him not just a way of understanding truths of political phenomena but was directly related to understanding those truths in action. If realized in action these truths would give rise to new political institutions, which in turn would create a corresponding peaceful political and social order. Parel dubs this order Pax Gandhiana. The main contention of Pax Gandhiana is that peace cannot be achieved by politics alone. Peace requires the confluence of the canonical ends of life: politics and economics (artha), ethics (dharma), forms of pleasure (kama), and the pursuit of spiritual transcendence (moksha). Modern political philosophy isolates politics from the other three ends, but Gandhi's originality, according to Parel, lies in the way that he brings all four together. In fact Gandhi's political philosophy is relevant not only to India but also to the rest of the world: it is a new type of sovereignty that harmonizes the interest of individual states with the community of states. Arguing against scholars who dispute a theoretical unity in Gandhi's writings, Parel suggests that Gandhi is the preeminent non-western political philosopher, and in this book he seeks to identify the conceptual framework of Gandhi's political philosophy, the Pax Gandhiana.

Book Shadowing the Turbulence

Book excerpt: Western Uttar Pradesh has a proud history, but no historian. They have long memories, but little sense of history. Their record in patriotic valor is glorious. Some had James Tod, some had Grant Duff, some had Cunningham as historians, but this region had no historian. There are many unsung stories of individuals who have sacrificed and contributed to India's freedom and independence but haven't got the recognition they rightfully deserve. In 2022, India will be celebrating 75 years of her freedom, and as an extension of the i Déjà vu series, we have committed ourselves to extract and mine the long-lost jewels to recognize and bestow to the world the unknown histories that awaken and stimulates the aggression. The fusion between the dynasties and the rebels of India who fought for their freedom and transformed the ethos of Indian spirits. Aryan Tomar, an Indo-Canadian astropreneur teenager, brings this fascinating period vividly alive, combining cognizance with immersive storytelling, and analysis with an untold story, proudly interrogating his own great-grandfather and beyond.

Book THE MAHABHARATA

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ramesh Menon
  • Publisher : iUniverse
  • Release : 2006-07-20
  • ISBN : 0595845649
  • Pages : 724 pages

Download or read book THE MAHABHARATA written by Ramesh Menon and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2006-07-20 with total page 724 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Mahabharata is the more recent of India's two great epics, and by far the longer. First composed by the Maharishi Vyasa in verse, it has come down the centuries in the timeless oral tradition of guru and sishya, profoundly influencing the history, culture, and art of not only the Indian subcontinent but most of south-east Asia. At 100,000 couplets, it is seven times as long as the Iliad and the Odyssey combined: far and away the greatest recorded epic known to man. The Mahabharata is the very Book of Life: in its variety, majesty and, also, in its violence and tragedy. It has been said that nothing exists that cannot be found within the pages of this awesome legend. The epic describes a great war of some 5000 years ago, and the events that led to it. The war on Kurukshetra sees ten million warriors slain, brings the dwapara yuga to an end, and ushers in a new and sinister age: this present kali yuga, modern times. At the heart of the Mahabharata nestles the Bhagavad Gita, the Song of God. Senayor ubhayor madhye, between two teeming armies, Krishna expounds the eternal dharma to his warrior of light, Arjuna. At one level, all the restless action of the Mahabharata is a quest for the Gita and its sacred stillness. After the carnage, it is the Gita that survives, immortal lotus floating upon the dark waters of desolation: the final secret! With its magnificent cast of characters, human, demonic, and divine, and its riveting narrative, the Mahabharata continues to enchant readers and scholars the world over. This new rendering brings the epic to the contemporary reader in sparkling modern prose. It brings alive all the excitement, magic, and grandeur of the original-for our times.
