But their meanings many not be evident right away. That's not how the subconscious works. It's a total jackass. It won't come right out and tell you what it means. Don't you hate that? It's like a bad mime or a toddler trying to tell you what he wants for breakfast. Try writing down your dreams upon awakening and see if an interpretation comes to you via signs, synchronicities, intuitions, or two-by-fours across the head. This handy dandy journal will help you keep track of your nightly dreams so you can revisit them at any time and see if the meaning has become clear.

Book excerpt: Your dreams hold the key to a better, fuller life. There is a reason we dream at night. It's not random nonsense. When we are dreaming, we are thinking on a much deeper, more insightful level than when we're awake. When we're dreaming, we're actually problem solving...it's just in a different language. Our minds are speaking to us in codes: warning, helping, and guiding us through our constantly evolving situations in life. The mind, through dreams, is trying to alert us to problems it wants fixed. The truth is, our best thinking isn't done in the shower, it's done while we dream. In fact, when we say, "Let me sleep on it," what we're really saying is, "Let me dream on it." In this easy-to-use guide, renowned dream analyst Lauri Quinn Loewenberg gives you the tools to interpret the often confounding language of dreams. You will learn how to: * unlock the hidden dream communications your mind wants you to know * understand commonly occurring people, places and animals as extensions of your personality * decipher the real meaning behind nightmares like falling, drowning, and being chased * discover the big messages in seemingly small dream elements as Lauri guides you through dozens of real-life dreams * use your dreams as a tool to solve your everyday problems and effect real change in your life and relationships * reference the most important dream symbols with a comprehensive dream dictionary

Book WTF Just Happened

    Book Details:
  • Author : Elizabeth Entin
  • Publisher : WTPH Just Happened LLC
  • Release : 2024-08-17

  • Pages : 412 pages

Download or read book WTF Just Happened written by Elizabeth Entin and published by WTPH Just Happened LLC. This book was released on 2024-08-17 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if everything you thought you knew about how the world worked was challenged? (Again) In this sequel to WTF Just Happened?!: A sciencey skeptic explores grief, healing, and evidence of an afterlife, Elizabeth “Liz” Entin continues to look for scientific proof of an afterlife. Something she had always considered about as realistic as the Tooth Fairy when she first began this “shot in the dark” search after the loss of her dad. Picking up where the first book left off, this second book in the series shows Liz once again using her analytical mind to research psychic mediums and the scientists who study them. No longer new to this strange world, she starts conducting her own “WTF can happen?!” experiments with mediums, studying under a former secret psychic spy from the United States government’s Defense Intelligence Agency and training with experts in paranormal activity. She also tries to talk to dead people (including her dad), meet up with mediums in different dimensions, move objects with her mind, and apply CIA tactics to “spy” on faraway spots. She is still stunned when, during some of these attempts, the inexplicable continues to happen. Along her journey, she deepens previously unimaginable relationships with mentors who have studied this afterlife phenomena for almost 20 years—and keeps getting more and more evidence that everything she once thought about how the world (and the world beyond it) worked was way more extraordinary than she, a hard-core “sciencey-skeptic,” had ever imagined. And, in a subplot that seems to fall right in line with the weird trajectory of her life and tackled with the same humorous approach she takes to addressing life’s darker moments, Liz unexpectedly gets called as a secondary witness in the Harvey Weinstein case, which despite its serious tones, is filled with the most hilarious twists, including “visits” from Liz’s late chihuahua, Peanut. Through it all, Liz continues to honestly address the reality of living with grief, call out frauds among the medium community, embrace her full awkwardness as she meets researchers she always admired, and share her continued shock that overall very normal people seem to be doing the impossible. Liz will not only have you laughing but will also leave even the biggest skeptic wondering (and hoping)... could this really be true? Could we actually survive death?

You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. First, it was reported that an infectious virus has made all animal meat poisonous to humans. Then governments initiated the “Transition.” Now, eating human meat—“special meat”—is legal. Marcos tries to stick to numbers, consignments, processing. Then one day he’s given a gift: a live specimen of the finest quality. Though he’s aware that any form of personal contact is forbidden on pain of death, little by little he starts to treat her like a human being. And soon, he becomes tortured by what has been lost—and what might still be saved.

Book WTF

  • Publisher : Frank B. Thompson, III
  • Release : 2014-12-24
  • ISBN : 1500643858
  • Pages : 253 pages

Download or read book WTF written by Frank B. Thompson, III and published by Frank B. Thompson, III. This book was released on 2014-12-24 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What would America look like if the liberals ultimately triumph, say by the year 2050? "WTF! This is a Liberal Utopia!" - a satire on liberalism, all the unintended consequences of this heart felt way of looking at the world around oneself, usually in the cloistered halls of academia, some government agency, some left-wing, nonprofit activist organization and, or congress. A really fantabulous glimpse at what the future holds when these magnificent, starry-eyed wonders finally come out on top! By 2050, America will have gone through some slight changes thus resulting in many really noteworthy phenomena. For one, there is no longer any need for elections: there will be a "Forever President" whose last name could be 'Castro.' Furthermore, odds are 'welfare moms' will have largely replaced small business enterprises with their monthly, government stipends; most Americans will as likely as not have never worked, because it is distinctly possible that there won't be any save for those "shovel ready jobs" the Democrats will in all likelihood keep bringing up. Gaia, Mother Earth, will have probably been rescued from the threatening effects of “Global Warming,” “Global Cooling,” and “Climate Change,” by turning to more agrarian economy where ‘maze’ is likely to be the cornerstone. For those lucky enough to own wheeled transportation, they will likely be driving around in either battery-powered, bubble cars made of styrofoam, or Latino lowriders which might look a lot like sparklers driving along the potholed highways of tomorrow. The English language will have been replaced by local, cultural colloquialisms with phonetics playing the principle role for making up words and phrases and writing them out. All this and more will be seen through the eyes of one of those liberal visionaries, an Ivy League English Professor whose name is Felix Schwartz; the narrator, the author and “the reader.” A glimpse into our wondrous future and what awaits us all when the magnificent munificents are finally given the reins to take America down that ‘Yellow Brick Road’ to their utopian, imaginary 'World of OZ.' "WTF! This is a Liberal Utopia!"

Book The Dream Songs

  • Author : John Berryman
  • Publisher : Farrar, Straus and Giroux
  • Release : 2014-10-21
  • ISBN : 1466879637

Download or read book The Dream Songs written by John Berryman and published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. This book was released on 2014-10-21 with total page 469 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The complete Dream Songs--hypnotic, seductive, masterful--as thrilling to read now as they ever were John Berryman's The Dream Songs are perhaps the funniest, saddest, most intricately wrought cycle of oems by an American in the twentieth century. They are also, more simply, the vibrantly sketched adventures of a uniquely American antihero named Henry. Henry falls in and out of love, and is in and out of the hospital; he sings of joy and desire, and of beings at odds with the world. He is lustful; he is depressed. And while Henry is breaking down and cracking up and patching himself together again, Berryman is doing the same thing to the English language, crafting electric verses that defy grammar but resound with an intuitive truth: "if he had a hundred years," Henry despairs in "Dream Song 29," "& more, & weeping, sleepless, in all them time / Henry could not make good." This volume collects both 77 Dream Songs, which won Berryman the Pulitzer Prize in 1965, and their continuation, His Toy, His Dream, His Rest, which was awarded the National Book Award and the Bollingen Prize in 1969. The Dream Songs are witty and wild, an account of madness shot through with searing insight, winking word play, and moments of pure, soaring elation. This is a brilliantly sustained and profoundly moving performance that has not yet-and may never be-equaled.

Book excerpt: From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing and Nowhere But Here comes a love story about a Craigslist “missed connection” post that gives two people a second chance at love fifteen years after they were separated in New York City. To the Green-eyed Lovebird: We met fifteen years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House. You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more. We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other. Yet, somehow, it all fell apart. We lost touch the summer after graduation when I went to South America to work for National Geographic. When I came back, you were gone. A part of me still wonders if I pushed you too hard after the wedding… I didn’t see you again until a month ago. It was a Wednesday. You were rocking back on your heels, balancing on that thick yellow line that runs along the subway platform, waiting for the F train. I didn’t know it was you until it was too late, and then you were gone. Again. You said my name; I saw it on your lips. I tried to will the train to stop, just so I could say hello. After seeing you, all of the youthful feelings and memories came flooding back to me, and now I’ve spent the better part of a month wondering what your life is like. I might be totally out of my mind, but would you like to get a drink with me and catch up on the last decade and a half? M
