Book I Am A Witch I Choose Paganism

Download or read book I Am A Witch I Choose Paganism written by Dr. Isis Day and published by Isis Day Publishers. This book was released on 2021-05-30 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Finally, a book about Witches, Pagans, Magic and Witchcraft you can gladly recommend or give to inquiring folks as a gift. ATTENTION !!! - A few lines, paragraphs or pages in this book may be somewhat strong or explicit, therefore Parental Guidance (PG) is suggested. "I'm tempted to say this is the best book by Dr. Isis Day - but not really, because each one of her books has something special and unique about it. However, I'd say that if you've not read any of her books before, this would be the best and first one to start with, then you can go read the others. 'I Am A Witch - I Choose Paganism,' is a very wonderful book worth reading over and over by both Pagans and non-Pagans, whether you're a Witch or not." --- Marie Guillaumes (Editor). "This book -- 'I Am A Witch - I Choose Paganism,' by Dr. Isis Day -- is the long-awaited book that sheds extra light on Paganism and Witchcraft. Every Pagan and every true student of occult wisdom should read this book asap, and everyone sincerely inquiring about Pagans, Witches, Magic and Witchcraft should also read it right away, and share it with friends too, and let the truth speak for itself. Blessed be!" --- The Illuminatista. Adapted from the book -- 'I Am A Witch - I Choose Paganism,' by Dr. Isis Day - Merry meet! Yep, the Witch is back, with more oomph to keep you witchy and pagan, while helping inquirers and seekers know a few things about us... People have formed all sorts of ill notions about Witches, Witchcraft, Magic and Pagans, and act on such preconceptions accordingly. So-called experts claim to know everything about Witches, when all they have is the backwater, storybook, movie, flea-market and superstitious distortions of the true definition of Witches and Pagans. But then, again, Witches, true and real Witches, are everywhere, in plain sight, yet invisible to the un-initiated... and with Paganism considered one of the fastest growing religions of today, the number will surely be forever on the increase. Hooray! People are finally seeing the light! Misinforming the public about Witches and Pagans has since been a strong, silent and invisible fist that some religions and individuals have used successfully to control, push out and pull in who they want, when and where and how they want it. Promise to protect people from Witches and they'll be yours to keep and sway as you please forever. A lot of the materials out there on Pagans and Witches are put out by non-Pagans who for the most part are anti-Pagans. So inquirers are actually more exposed to the wrong information -- data that has been primarily designed to malign Pagans, Witches, Wizards, Magic and Witchcraft - data whose ultimate purpose is to paint Pagans evil. Once in a while people ask me questions about Witches, Pagans, Magic and Witchcraft, and this book is very much in response to such questions.

Book Waking the Witch

Download or read book Waking the Witch written by Pam Grossman and published by Gallery Books. This book was released on 2020-10-06 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the podcast host of The Witch Wave and practicing witch Pam Grossman—who Vulture has dubbed the “Terry Gross of witches”—comes an exploration of the world’s fascination with witches, why they have intrigued us for centuries and why they’re more relevant now than ever. When you think of a witch, what do you picture? Pointy black hat, maybe a broomstick. But witches in various guises have been with us for millennia. In Waking the Witch, Pam Grossman explores the impact of the world’s most magical icon. From the idea of the femme fatale in league with the devil to the bewitching pop culture archetypes in Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Harry Potter; from the spooky ladies in fairy tales to the rise of contemporary witchcraft, witches reflect the power and potential of women. Part cultural analysis, part memoir, Waking the Witch traces the author’s own journey on the path to witchcraft, and how this has helped her find self-empowerment and purpose. It celebrates witches past, present, and future, and reveals the critical role they have played—and will continue to play—in the world as we know it. “Deftly illuminating the past while beckoning us towards the future, Waking the Witch has all the makings of a feminist classic. Wise, relatable, and real, Pam Grossman is the witch we need for our times” (Ami McKay, author of The Witches of New York).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Witch's Book of Silence will help you deepen your practice and increase the efficacy of your magic. Silence is the space from which creative impulse flows. In silence we touch the power we call God/dess and become attuned to wisdom beyond our own. We learn to commune with the spirits of land, our ancestors and others of the unseen realms. We enter the ineffable mystery sought by ancient and contemporary mystics alike. Through silent communion we attain ecstatic union with the Divine. The book addresses some of the most pressing and controversial concerns of the Craft as both a modern-day movement and private, religious system. A Witch's Book of Silence is a mirror for us individually and collectively. Here we see reflected our beauty and power as well as our fear and foibles. Divided into three segments. The first defines terms, explores concepts and discusses how and why we resist the practice of silence. The second segment offers practices leading the seeker into the heart of silence where the mysteries are revealed . The final segment offers a glimpse of what awaits us should we dare to steep ourselves in the cauldron of transformation. A Witch's Book of Silence is born out of decades of studying, practicing and teaching the art of Witchcraft during which time the author noted the impact of the internet on the transfer of once closely guarded information. The Witch's Pyramid became unbalanced as the powers to Know, Will and Dare were highly sought after while Keeping Silent fell out of fashion--a silly, scary and inconsequential relic of the past. The Witch must confront and overcome her fear and resistance to entering the realms of silence. Keeping silent is necessary to build power, perform effective magic and engage deeply with the mysteries. While written from the perspective of a Feri Witch, the concerns, practices and resolutions offered will be equally valuable when applied to any spiritual path requiring the practitioner develop self-awareness, personal integrity, cognizant communication with spirit and the use of meaningful speech imbued with creative force.

Book The Witch s Qabalah

Download or read book The Witch s Qabalah written by Ellen Cannon Reed and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 1997-09-01 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Because the classic writings on the Qabala have been expressed primarily in the terminology of the Western Mystery Tradition or in terms of the ceremonial magician, its usefulness as a tool for the Craft has been overlooked. With this book, Ellen Cannon Reed -- a High Priestess of the Isian tradition -- brings the symbolism of the Qabala into a new light so pagans can see its value and use it to enhance the Great Work. Reed explains the Tree of Life -- the primary symbol used to represent the universal energies as "revealed" by the Qabala -- and how its spheres and paths correspond to elements in the pagan tradition. Teachers can use the Qabala to understand the growth of students and their problems, using the Vices and Virtues to recognize stages of growth. Reed also provides exercises, meditations, and encouragement to students who are studying without a teacher. She discusses the Qabala as it appears in everyday life, which spheres of the Tree of Life to use for specific workings, and details two rituals using the Tree: a Dedication to the Journey, and the Rite of mending Love. Reed's command of the material allows teachers and students alike to gain powerful insight into their own search for spirituality. First published in 1983 as Witches Qabala Book 1: The Goddess and the Tree, this revised and updated edition is enhanced with Reed's thirteen additional years of experience.

Download or read book Imagining the Witch written by Laura Kounine and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-11-01 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagining the Witch explores emotions, gender, and selfhood through the lens of witch-trials in early modern Germany. Witch-trials were clearly a gendered phenomenon, but witchcraft was not a uniquely female crime. While women constituted approximately three quarters of those tried for witchcraft in the Holy Roman Empire, a significant minority were men. Witchcraft was also a crime of unbridled passion: it centred on the notion that one person's emotions could have tangible and deadly physical consequences. Yet it is also true that not all suspicions of witchcraft led to a formal accusation, and not all witch-trials led to the stake. Indeed, just over half the total number put on trial for witchcraft in early modern Europe were executed. In order to understand how early modern people imagined the witch, we must first begin to understand how people understood themselves and each other; this can help us to understand how the witch could be a member of the community, living alongside their accusers, yet inspire such visceral fear. Through an examination of case studies of witch-trials that took place in the early modern Lutheran duchy of Württemberg in southwestern Germany, Laura Kounine examines how the community, church, and the agents of the law sought to identify the witch, and the ways in which ordinary men and women fought for their lives in an attempt to avoid the stake. The study further explores the visual and intellectual imagination of witchcraft in this period in order to piece together why witchcraft could be aligned with such strong female stereotypes on the one hand, but also be imagined as a crime that could be committed by any human, whether young or old, male or female. By moving beyond stereotypes of the witch, Imagining the Witch argues that understandings of what constituted witchcraft and the 'witch' appear far more contested and unstable than has previously been suggested. It also suggests new ways of thinking about early modern selfhood which moves beyond teleological arguments about the development of the 'modern' self. Indeed, it is the trial process itself that created the conditions for a diverse range of people to reflect on, and give meaning, to emotions, gender, and the self in early modern Lutheran Germany.
