Book The Once And For All Truth About Sickness and Healing

Download or read book The Once And For All Truth About Sickness and Healing written by Ron Craig and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2009-01-15 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Of more than twenty book titles the Lord has placed upon my heart to write, this is the third. The Body of Christ is in dire need of the message of each and every book, this one being the most timely. Many influential Christians are being taken out by sickness on a regular basis; therefore something must be amiss in todays church. The shortfall is evidently in the modern believers lack of true biblical knowledge of the sickness and healing subject. This book fills in a multitude of gaps in the Christians understanding of one of Satans most subtle weapons. To my knowledge, no other book on the market contains the revelation found in this work. It will absolutely revolutionize your life!

Book Juxtaposition and the Elisha Cycle

Download or read book Juxtaposition and the Elisha Cycle written by Rachelle Gilmour and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2014-01-16 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph examines the juxtaposition of narrative units in biblical narrative and the effect this has on interpretation. Early rabbinical and inner-biblical interpretations suggest that juxtaposition was an intentional device used by biblical editors and authors to shape the meaning of their material. Therefore, this monograph develops a framework for recognising the ways in which adjacent units interpret and re-interpret one another and presents this framework as an important hermeneutical tool. Stories and episodes that are linked chronologically affect one another through a relationship of causes and consequences. The categories of contradiction, corroboration and question and answer are also used to describe the types of interaction between narrative units and demonstrate how such dialogues create new meaning. Indicators in the text that guide the audience towards the intended interpretation are identified in order that a 'poetics' of juxtaposition is developed. The theoretical basis established in the first half of the monograph is then applied to the Elisha cycle. Each episode is interpreted independently and then read in juxtaposition with the surrounding episodes, producing a fresh literary reading of the cycle. Furthermore, in order to demonstrate how juxtaposition functioned as a diachronic process, attention is given to the literary history of the cycle. We conjecture earlier interpretations of the Elisha episodes and compare them to the final form of the cycle. Finally, the Elisha cycle is itself a story juxtaposed with other stories and so the same principles of interpretation are used to suggest the meaning of the cycle within the book of Kings.

Download or read book Miracles Today written by Craig S. Keener and published by Baker Academic. This book was released on 2021-10-19 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do miracles still happen today? This book demonstrates that miraculous works of God, which have been part of the experience of the church around the world since Christianity began, continue into the present. Leading New Testament scholar Craig Keener addresses common questions about miracles and provides compelling reasons to believe in them today, including many accounts that offer evidence of verifiable miracles. This book gives an accessible and concise overview of one of Keener's most significant research topics. His earlier two-volume work on miracles stands as the definitive word on the topic, but its size and scope are daunting to many readers. This new book summarizes Keener's basic argument but contains substantial new material, including new accounts of the miraculous. It is suitable as a textbook but also accessible to church leaders and laypeople.

Book The Politics of God and the Politics of Man

Download or read book The Politics of God and the Politics of Man written by Jacques Ellul and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2012-07-18 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Man's freedom--God's omnipotence: how can they be reconciled? That question is central to this penetrating study of political action and the prophetic function. Ellul's answer to that question, though based on events recorded in the Second Book of Kings, is immediately relevant to contemporary issues and to the church today. Emerging from these reflections is an eloquent testimony to the immense love of God--"which not only creates and saves, but which also in its incomprehensible humility wants to associate man with its work."

The views expressed in these compiled articles are presented with frequent repetition for the sake of emphasis for young students who seek to get 'another' view of education, cultures and Biblical mission perspectives, than what might be provided in the religious circles in America today.

Book excerpt: Do you long for something more in your relationship with God? The good news is that “something more” does not mean “doing more.” God is not waiting for you to get your spiritual life “right.” He wants to be with you right where you are. The real question is not “What does God want from you?” but “What does God want for you?” Sharon Jaynes understands what it’s like to have a “glory ache”—a longing to experience God’s presence on a daily basis. She also knows how easily working for God can get in the way of intimacy with God. And she’s discovered that we tend to make our faith journey much too hard. In A Sudden Glory, Sharon uses Scripture and story to help you erase the line between your “spiritual life” and your “daily life” as you enter the sanctuary of God’s presence even in the middle of your busy, messy day. Here you will find your eyes opened to moments of sudden glory in which the Creator assures you of His love as you live and move and have your being in Him. Here you will discover true freedom—the freedom of experiencing God in a deeper and more intimate way than ever before. Includes Bible study and discussion guide.

  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2012-03-15
  • ISBN : 1469183013
  • Pages : 236 pages

Download or read book All Humans Are Helpless written by Emmanuel Oghenebrorhie and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-03-15 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The term Managing Your Measure Maximally means optimizing your personalized measure of joy and sadness, surplus and scarcity, prosperity and peasantness or peasantry, etc., as long as you live. All humans have their high and low seasons, best and worst seasons, good and bad seasons. Ecclesiastes 3 attests to these but how we manage such season matters. How we manage our lives maximally amidst the realization that you are inevitably vulnerable is the real issue here. God Almighty has the fi nal defi nition of what is good and bad, acceptable and unacceptable at any point in time. Therefore, cleaving to and looking up to Him always, is one of the best things to do in life. If parents can hurt, strength can fail the strong, wealth can fail the rich, and wisdom would not immune from vulnerability and attendant misfortune, then, there is no better wisdom than depending on God who is not subject to the law of inevitable vulnerability.
