Book If You Get Me Out of This One

Download or read book If You Get Me Out of This One written by Fran Hollister and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2019-10-22 with total page 183 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It started out to be what I would identify as a normal day. After work I was running an errand. I was in a parking lot when the car in front of me started to back up, so I extended my arm on the steering wheel to beep. I was hit anyway. There wasn't any damage, and I felt fine, so I didn't think it was necessary to exchange names, but luckily I remembered his license plate. Thirty to forty-five minutes later, my shoulder started to ache. Ten days later, my arm and hand were nonfunctional. It started out as a sprain, and it developed into reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD), which is currently known as complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Unfortunately, when my insurance company contacted the man who had backed into me, he denied it. Nearly two years later, thirty-two hours before the statute of limitation was up, there was a twist of fate; I was blindsided with a phone call. And this is when I hired my attorney, Elliott Pelegrin. It's my hope after reading, If You Get Me Out of This One...,readers will realize one needs determination not only to recover from RSD/CRPS, but any conflict. I was in for the fight of my life, I made it through because I did exactly what my doctors, therapists, and attorney told me to do. It took a lot of time, work, patience, and mostly determination. I gave it my best shot. Several times I've heard Robin Roberts from Good Morning America say, "Make your mess your message." It took me twenty-nine years before I could openly discuss my mess.

Book excerpt: Sometimes Jo still wakes up suddenly, thinking she can hear Lauren's cry. Although twelve years have passed since her baby daughter was abducted, photos of the child continue to arrive by post with the words I still have her scrawled on the back. The police think it's a hoax, but Jo has always believed them to be genuine—and until there is some hard evidence to the contrary, she will always hold on to the belief that Lauren is still alive. Bit if the pictures really do come from the kidnapper, it means they have been keeping track of Jo's movements all these years. Recently Jo has begun to feel as if she is being watched—and that whoever has her daughter is getting closer. Is Jo's husband right to dismiss her fears as paranoia, or might Jo herself be in danger? As her life begins to unravel, Jo fears that the truth may lie in the half-forgotten distant past, scarred by rumors of insanity and murder.

That was until one day, she heard about a man named Jesus, a man who loved her more than she could ever imagine. In Teach Me What Mama Didn’t Know, author Angela Baker-Ward shares an intimate chronicle of her life both before and after she accepted the invitation from Jesus into her heart and asked him to be Lord over her life. Book Why didn t somebody tell me this sooner

Download or read book Why didn t somebody tell me this sooner written by Tiz A. Arnold and published by Tiz A. Arnold, EdD. This book was released on 2024-07-10 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you think you’re the only one who’s been so embarrassed they wanted to hide? You’re not. Think you’re the only one who feels [insert the name of any emotion here]? I can promise you you’re not. Think you just don’t know how to study? We can fix that (there are research-backed tips to help you study and test better that you’ve probably never been taught)! Think this life isn’t really yours, that you’re just taking up space in it or going through the motions? No way—it’s yours and you have every right to own it. Think you just aren’t good at talking to people or you’re not likable? There are some simple strategies to help you overcome that. Life is really hard. Being a kid is hard and being a teenager’s even harder. How you navigate the challenges and struggles you face now will influence who you’ll become and how you’ll interact with others and the world around you...for better or for worse. I struggled too and for far longer than I should’ve. I’ve learned, as an adult, about so much research and so many strategies (from the fields of psychology, sport psychology, positive psychology, resilience, and academics) that would’ve helped me lead a better life sooner if only someone had known to tell me about them. Your mental habits get harder and harder to change the older you get, so starting to use these strategies early in life is much easier than waiting until your mental habits get totally hardwired into your brain.

It is also a warm, and in places heartbreaking account of someone who found themselves in circumstances too appalling to contemplate. In need of some quick cash to save his home, Hob returns to the Alternative Detective Agency—and boy do they have a job for him. In short order, Hob finds himself embroiled in a criminal plot full of double crosses, From the very beginning of his career, Robert Sheckley was recognized by fans, reviewers, and fellow authors as a master storyteller and the wittiest satirist working in the science fiction field. Open Road is proud to republish his acclaimed body of work, with nearly thirty volumes of full-length fiction and short story collections. Rediscover, or discover for the first time, a master of science fiction who, according to the New York Times, was “a precursor to Douglas Adams.”
