Book What Is God Like

Download or read book What Is God Like written by Rachel Held Evans and published by Convergent Books. This book was released on 2021-06-15 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The late, beloved Rachel Held Evans answers many children's first question about God in this gorgeous picture book, fully realized by her friend Matthew Paul Turner, the bestselling author of When God Made You. Children who are introduced to God, through attending church or having loved ones who speak about God, often have a lot of questions, including this ever-popular one: What is God like? The late Rachel Held Evans loved the Bible and loved showing God’s love through the words and pictures found in that ancient text. Through these pictures from the Bible, children see that God is like a shepherd, God is like a star, God is like a gardener, God is like the wind, and more. God is a comforter and support. And whenever a child is unsure, What Is God Like? encourages young hearts to “think about what makes you feel safe, what makes you feel loved, and what makes you feel brave. That's what God is like.”

Book Why Did God Make You

    Book Details:
  • Author : Maurice C.
  • Publisher : Covenant Books, Inc.
  • Release : 2024-04-25
  • ISBN : 1685260195

Download or read book Why Did God Make You written by Maurice C. and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-04-25 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The shift in moral standards across the world has changed dramatically in the last eighty years. The shift has not been good for society, and the influence of Satan has grown. Once a God-fearing and loving society, we are now a God-ignoring and self-satisfying nation. The Ten Commandments, once considered vital, are now treated as less than ten suggestions. We have moved so far away from a God-centered world that I suspect He will do something dramatic to regain our attention. We have probably passed the point of no return in our relationship with our Creator. Mary and many Saints have warned that we need to return to Him, and I believe that only some divine intervention will bring us home to Him. My children and grandchildren didn't have the religious education we had. Most of them can't answer the question, "Why did God make you?" So I am asking you who had a solid religious education and belief to share that education with the young people. I have taken on the job of praying my children and grandchildren into heaven. If you agree, please join me. Ask the Father in Jesus's name to bring us home for eternity. Live and share the reason God made you. Tell the children what you learned; to know Him, to love Him, and serve Him. This is the purpose of our existence. Share it with the ones we love deeply. We live in His world. No matter what man tries to do, He is still, and always will be, in charge. In my judgment, the only power strong enough to coordinate all the confusion we've seen in the world today is Satanic power. Satan is constantly on the attack, but we have the power on our side to overcome his influence. In the end, Jesus will triumph coming in glory. His love and mercy is endless and will be shared by those who make an effort to do the will of the Father. The sisters taught us about the sacraments. Talk to your children and grandchildren about them. Encourage them to go to confession and to attend mass, and God will take care of them. Don't be afraid. He put us here and now for a reason, and I believe the reason is for us to help each other to know, love, and serve Him. Let's pray them into heaven with us. It has been two years getting this book to print. The changes in the world condition over that time has deteriorated significantly. Knowing the reason of our existence has become even more crucial than it was two years ago. The Russians have invaded Ukraine, and their action threatens world safety. Mary warned us of this threat over one hundred years ago. We are past time in listening to her words of warning. This week in March 2022, the Ukrainian bishops are pleading with the Pope to consecrate Russia to Mary. While we wait to see how the world situation unfolds, we might renew our own consecration to Mary and to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The world is praying for peace. I believe it is time to do more than to ask God for favors. It is time, past time, to add actions to our prayers taking Tom's example by the practice of fasting and other forms of self-sacrifice. I need to stop asking and to start doing. He doesn't need my sacrifice, but He loves my surrender. I witnessed a beautiful sign on the first Friday of March. The morning mass usually has thirty-five or so attendees. On this last first Friday, there were over 120. People are responding to Mary's call. If you haven't joined her yet, please do for your benefit, your children's benefit, and for the salvation of the world. Thank you again.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There have always been good fathers and bad fathers. But never before in history has the role of fathers been as undefined as it is today. hardly anyone who becomes a father is entering the race with a religious, cultural or educational assignment. This involves many drawbacks. But instead of just deploring this fact, I want committed fathers to recognize and exploit the new opportunities involved in this. Especially the freedom from old role models opens up completely new possibilities for fathers to take on an hugely positive task for the development of their children and to cultivate a stable relationship with the mother, which lives from the difference of the sexes.

Book MAKE THE WAY The Story of John the Baptizer

Download or read book MAKE THE WAY The Story of John the Baptizer written by Toni C. Clark and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-03-11 with total page 424 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An angel of God came to an old priest while serving in the Holy Temple and told him his prayer would be answered. Zechariah and his aged wife would bring a son into the world, and he would be called John. The angel said John would be a joy and delight to Zechariah and Elizabeth, and many would rejoice because of his birth. John was destined to prepare the way in the spirit and power of Elijah for the coming Messiah. He took his first breath in Ein Kerem, not far from the Holy Temple. Six months later, by miraculous conception, John's cousin was born in Bethlehem, and his name was Jesus. He was born to be a ruler and king of all people. As small children, John and Jesus escaped the wrath of King Herod, who massacred the innocents to secure his throne. John was taken to the hills of Ein Kerem to hide, and Jesus was carried to Egypt. After the king died, the children were brought from their havens. They often played together, keeping childhood secrets and sharing their dreams. They grew to be men, strong in spirit and hopeful. John struggled to understand his purpose but believed Jesus was the Messiah who would free Israel's people from Rome's tyranny. Finally, in fulfillment of his purpose, John went through Judaea and preached repentance, making the way for the Messiah. He was then arrested by Herod Antipas, the son of the man who had murdered the children of Bethlehem. For nearly two years, John was in a dark prison cell, tormented by loneliness and the king's taunting. He struggled to understand where he had failed, and he began to wonder if Jesus was the one. Then he found his answer.

Book Genesis Your Journey Home 2Nd Edition

Download or read book Genesis Your Journey Home 2Nd Edition written by Terry L. Newbegin and published by BalboaPress. This book was released on 2011-04-21 with total page 705 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Genesis: Your Journey Home is a groundbreaking book that goes far beyond the usual levels of biblical interpretations, and the ideas taught by religion that are difficult to understand. It bypasses word definition, root studies, historical explanations, and the ideas taught by religion that are difficult to understand but are important. This book examines the first twenty-five chapters, verse by verse, exploring and revealing the deeper metaphysical (beyond the literal) meaning of the text. Most people know that there are multiple levels of truth contained within the Bible, but until now none have brought forth the ultimate Truth hidden within the mundane, semi-historical writings. Rather than creating new doctrines, this book gently peels back ALL levels of dogmatic views to reveal the true core essence of God, humanity, and the nature of reality. Deep within the ancient biblical text is found the true story (record) of creation, the reason for our very existence, and the history of All That IS. This book is for those that are searching for authenticity, purpose, and a sense that truth lies somewhere beyond religious teachings but who are reluctant to discard the inherent value of scripture. This book brings comfort, personal empowerment, a new understanding of God, and fosters a renewed sense of responsibility for life. It is a book whose time has come at last, as it brings humanity to a deeper understanding of God and a realization of their ultimate purpose.
