"Keeping the Passover each year reminds us that God is the forgiver of sin who grants us eternal life in His Kingdom through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our Passover." "Our observance of the Days of Unleavened Bread helps us realize our crucial need for Jesus' help in overcoming our weaknesses." "Pentecost serves as an annual reminder that our Creator still works miracles, granting His Spirit to those called to be the firstfruits of His spiritual harvest, empowering them to carry out His work in this world." "Jesus Christ will return to raise His followers from death and establish God's perfect rule over the earth. This is the wonderful, inspiring meaning of the Feast of Trumpets." "The Day of Atonement thus pictures the loving reconciliation all people can have with God through Christ's sacrifice. It also shows the remarkable truth that Satan, the author of sin, will eventually be removed so that humanity can at last attain reconciliation with God on a universal basis." "The Feast of Tabernacles offers a marvelous opportunity for salvation to those left alive at Christ's return, as well as their physical descendants during the Millennium." "What is the fate of those who die with no real knowledge of Jesus Christ, the Son of God? What hope is there for the billions who have lived and died without knowledge of God's purpose? The Scriptures show that these are not cut off without hope. He will bring them back to life and give them their opportunity for eternal salvation!"

Book The Lord s Day in Scripture

Download or read book The Lord s Day in Scripture written by Rodney D. Nelson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-09-18 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is the Christian Lord’s Day? Why is it of continued importance? What does is represent? These and other questions will be addressed in The Lord’s Day in Scripture. The Lord’s Day is the scriptural name for the Christian day of worship on the first day of the week. The Lord’s Day is the Lord’s Day—the day of which the Lord Jesus Christ took possession by his resurrection on the first day of the week. The day of Christ’s resurrection was prophesied in the Old Testament to be on the third day, fulfilled in the New Testament on the first day of the week, and celebrated as the Lord’s Day. Therefore, the time of the resurrection is directly connected to the event of the resurrection. The Lord’s Day in Scripture establishes the scriptural basis for the Lord’s Day. It seeks to help each Christian appreciate worship, fellowship, and meaning in church through a better understanding of what the Lord’s Day is and is not.

Book excerpt: Although religious belief is a matter of faith, and difficult as it may be to accept, there is a way in which to prove the Bible to be an inerrant source of truth. Gematria, the method of using the numerical value of both Hebrew and Greek words is the way. Even more remarkable is a revelation of the Holy Spirit which has revealed the truth concerning a day of judgment, the Day of the Lord, through the numerical value of words. Although it is written that no man knows the day and hour of Christs return, Jesus himself said that in the last days nothing is hid that shall not be made manifest, neither anything secret that shall not be revealed. We are now in the last days, and it is now the appointed time for the secrets of God to be revealed. The evidence to support this proclamation is astounding. The author, Tyrone W. Cobb, M.D., is not a theologian or Bible scholar, but an orthopedic surgeon in practice since 1980. A graduate of Oakland University and Wayne State University School of Medicine, he has been married to Beianca since 1970. They have one son, having tragically lost their youngest son. Circumstances in his life stemming from that loss caused him to pray for enlightenment regarding the truth of Scripture. In answer to his prayer a revelation regarding the use of gematria as the way to prove all truth found in the Holy Scripture resulted in the writing of a narrative Bible study detailing his findings. Immediately upon completion of that book, a further revelation was then received regarding the numerical value of words related to the end time, leading to the authorship of this book.
