Download or read book The Effect of Weathering on Octane Quality for Winter grade and Summer grade Gasolines written by Richard N. Wares and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Weathering tests were conducted to examine the effects on fuel volatility and octane characteristics. The commercially available gasolines utilized in the study represented a wide geographic distribution for both winter and summer fuels. Aging was accomplished by heating the fuel samples to 110 degrees F and maintaining that temperature for 48 hours. Time histories of Reid Vapor Pressure (RFP) were conducted. Fuel octane evaluations, both MON and RON, were done. Component characterization by gas chromatography were made to identify components lost during the aging process. The time histories of vapor pressure changes depended to a limited measure on the initial fuel vapor pressure as well as to differences in composition. Butanes and isopentanes were the primary constituents lost due to the weathering. For the most part octane changes due to fuel weathering were minimal.

She explains how: Fall is a time of release—a necessary season of letting go of offenses, unhealthy relationships, hurts, bad habits, toxic friendships, pride, unforgiveness and other heart issues before we can ever move on to the next season Winter is a time of unexpected challenges and unknown futures—yet lessons learned in life’s storms are deep and full of growth to shape us and makes us stronger. Spring is a time of new things that require us to be open to new experiences, people, ideas, and perspective—stepping out into the unknown and uncomfortable. Summer is a time when everything is flourishing—we clearly see how each season cultivated a deeper level of faith and spiritual muscles, developing our character and perseverance.
