Download or read book ARE YOU A NOT SEE written by Mister Gusano and published by No Pledge Publishing. This book was released on with total page 686 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Are you a “Not-See”? Do you not see? Most historians did not see the amazing discoveries explained in this book about the academic work of Professor Dr. Rex Curry. Most people do not see it because they have been deceived by socialist schools (government schools) and the old media. The symbol on the cover of this book represents the “Not-See” movement. Modern political debates often describe the only two opposing alternatives as “Communists” versus “Nazis.” The description is a dishonest trick: the words “Communist” and “Nazi” are used to divert attention from the larger shared problem of “Socialism.” The famed Linguist Dr. Rex Curry exposed modern historical amnesia concerning Hitler’s vocabulary. Almost everyone (including every so-called "scholar") refers ignorantly to Hitler as a "Nazi" or a "Fascist" and not as a "Socialist." Educational Outreach Programs (EOPs) energized by Dr. Rex Curry's scholarship are the only services that inform benighted scholars that "Hitler self-identified as Socialist. He did not self-identify as Nazi, nor as Fascist". No other linguist provides this vital public awareness. So, if you ever see a sentence like the following one, then you know it was from EOPs for Dr. Curry's work: "Hitler didn't call himself Nazi or Fascist, he called himself Socialist". The linguistic EOPs above led to many amazing historical discoveries, including revelations about Anne Frank’s Diary; Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf”; Sophie Scholl’s White Rose group; Joseph Goebbels’ “Der Nazi Sozi”; Martin Niemoller’s verse “First They Came For the Socialists”; the swastika symbol, the hexagram (Star of David), and how Hitler changed BOTH symbols together; the etymological history of “Roman Salute”; and much more! Except for the American Linguist Laureate Dr. Rex Curry, every other historian did not see how the USA’s Pledge of Allegiance led to Nazi salutes and Nazi behavior; and how the original pledge’s use of military salutes led to Nazi salutes. Also, historians did not see the similar symbolism of Adolf Hitler's NSV, SA, and SS logos, as compared with the logo of Hitler's party: the National Socialist German Workers Party. Even today, only exceptional scholars with extraordinary skills (e.g. Dr. Curry) are able to discern the “S”-letter shape of the NSV’s logo (The National Socialist People's Welfare; in German: Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt). The "S" symbolism is almost as difficult to perceive as in Hitler’s Hakenkreuz (hooked cross). It is as undetectable as in the symbols for the SS and SA (Schutzstaffel and Sturmabteilung). All historians (other than Dr. Curry) did not see how Hitler used his party's symbol to represent "S"-letter shapes for "SOCIALIST." Do you not see? Professor Curry transformed the culture of India along with Hinduism and Buddhism. Before Dr. Curry’s discoveries, Buddhists and Hindus published complaints that “Hitler stole their swastika symbol and ruined it and they want to restore respect for their ancient symbol.” Educational Outreach Programs (EOP) about Dr. Curry’s work taught India’s commentators that Hitler’s symbol was not a swastika, and that Hitler never called it a swastika. An upheaval occurred among Buddhists and Hindus in their objections. Now they proudly assert: “Hitler called his symbol a Hakenkreuz (hooked cross), not a swastika. It was not the same symbol. Dr. Curry told us!”

Book Play it Again Cover Songs in Popular Music

Download or read book Play it Again Cover Songs in Popular Music written by Professor George Plasketes and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2013-01-28 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Covering—the musical practice of one artist recording or performing another composer's song—has always been an attribute of popular music. In 2009, the internet database Second Hand Songs estimated that there are 40,000 songs with at least one cover version. Some of the more common variations of this "appropriationist" method of musical quotation include traditional forms such as patriotic anthems, religious hymns such as Amazing Grace, Muzak's instrumental interpretations, Christmas classics, and children's songs. Novelty and comedy collections from parodists such as Weird Al Yankovic also align in the cover category, as does the "larcenous art" of sampling, and technological variations in dance remixes and mash-ups. Film and television soundtracks and advertisers increasingly rely on versions of familiar pop tunes to assist in marketing their narratives and products. The cover phenomenon in popular culture may be viewed as a postmodern manifestation in music as artists revisit, reinterpret and re-examine a significant cross section of musical styles, periods, genres, individual records, and other artists and their catalogues of works. The cover complex, with its multiple variations, issues, contexts, and re-contextualizations comprises an important and rich popular culture text. These re-recordings represent artifacts which embody artistic, social, cultural, historical, commercial, biographical, and novel meanings. Through homage, allusion, apprenticeship, and parody, among other modes, these diverse musical quotations express, preserve, and distribute popular culture, popular music and their intersecting historical narratives. Play it Again represents the first collection of critical perspectives on the many facets of cover songs in popular music.

Book The Story of the Treasure Seekers

Download or read book The Story of the Treasure Seekers written by Edith Nesbit and published by Graphic Arts Books. This book was released on 2021-01-05 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Story of the Treasure Seekers (1899) is a children’s novel by English writer Edith Nesbit. The first book in Nesbit’s beloved Bastable trilogy—which also includes The Wouldbegoods (1901) and The New Treasure Seekers (1904)—The Story of the Treasure Seekers is a story of family, adventure, and mystery for children and adults alike. The Bastable siblings—Dora, Oswald, Dicky, Alice, Noel, and Horace Octavius—are clever and curious children who live with their widowed father. When their mother died, their father became ill and lost his successful business, forcing the family to live modestly. Inspired by stories of buried gold and jewels—and hoping to help their struggling father—the Bastable children decide to go searching for treasure. Their adventure soon takes them to London, where they abandon digging for the allure of paying work. The Bastables come up with several schemes to make money, including writing poetry, banditry, and starting a newspaper, in the process discovering the power of imagination and the true value of home. The Story of the Treasure Seekers is a masterpiece of children’s fiction from Edith Nesbit, one of the twentieth century’s children’s authors. Originally published as a series of stories in several different periodicals, The Story of the Treasure Seekers was Nesbit’s first novel for children. It would go on to influence both Arthur Ransome and C.S. Lewis, and is a favorite of J.K. Rowling’s. With a beautifully designed cover and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of Edith Nesbit’s The Story of the Treasure Seekers is a classic of English children’s literature reimagined for modern readers.

Book excerpt: When fifteen-year-old Frankie Sawyer is discovered lifeless in the school sauna wearing a thermal suit, the ready explanation is that he went too far trying to "make weight." His coach tells it that way, and in a place where wrestling is the only game in town, his word is golden. But this kid's death has teeth. Its bite penetrates more than the sinister nature of a revered leader of boys. And for Jeffrey Maxim, the forty-five-year-old trial lawyer who chases martinis harder than ambulances, it goes deep enough to draw the blood of redemption. "Takedown" tells the compelling story of a deeply disturbing crime, its unlikely perpetrators, the people who get caught up in its wake, and, ultimately, of one man--burned out and pathologically cynical--avenging harm while rediscovering his soul. David Harkness practices law out of his own office in the Pacific Northwest. He and his wife, Kris, and their German shepherd, Bacchi, live on the beautiful Puget Sound.
