Download or read book Water Waves Generated By Underwater Explosion written by Bernard Le Mehaute and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996-04-16 with total page 389 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book on explosion-generated water waves. It presents the theoretical foundations and experimental results of the generation and propagation of impulsively generated waves resulting from underwater explosions. Many of the theories and concepts presented herein are applicable to other types of water waves, in particular, tsunamis and waves generated by the fall of a meteorite. Linear and nonlinear theories, as well as experimental calibrations, are presented for cases of deep and shallow water explosions. Propagation of transient waves on dissipative, nonuniform bathymetries together with laboratory simulations are analyzed and discussed.

Download or read book Hydrodynamics of Explosion written by Valery K. Kedrinskiy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-11-04 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydronamics of Explosion presents the research results for the problems of underwater explosions and contains a detailed analysis of the structure and the parameters of the wave fields generated by explosions of cord and spiral charges, a description of the formation mechanisms for a wide range of cumulative flows at underwater explosions near the free surface, and the relevant mathematical models. Shock-wave transformation in bubbly liquids, shock-wave amplification due to collision and focusing, and the formation of bubble detonation waves in reactive bubbly liquids are studied in detail. Particular emphasis is placed on the investigation of wave processes in cavitating liquids, which incorporates the concepts of the strength of real liquids containing natural microinhomogeneities, the relaxation of tensile stress, and the cavitation fracture of a liquid as the inversion of its two-phase state under impulsive (explosive) loading. The problems are classed among essentially nonlinear processes that occur under shock loading of liquids and may be of interest to researchers in physical acoustics, mechanics of multiphase media, shock-wave processes in condensed media, explosive hydroacoustics, and cumulation.

Download or read book Numerical Modeling of Explosives and Propellants Second Edition written by Charles L. Mader and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1997-08-29 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Mader, a leading scientist who conducted theoretical research at Los Alamos National Laboratory for more than 30 years, sets a new standard with this reference on numerical modeling of explosives and propellants. This book updates and expands the information presented in the author's landmark work, Numerical Modeling of Detonations, published in 1979 and still in use today. Numerical Modeling of Explosives and Propellants incorporates the considerable changes the personal computer has brought to numerical modeling since the first book was published, and includes new three-dimensional modeling techniques and new information on propellant performance and vulnerability. Both an introduction to the physics and chemistry of explosives and propellants and a guide to numerical modeling of detonation and reactive fluid dynamics, Numerical Modeling of Explosives and Propellants offers scientists and engineers a complete picture of the current state of explosive and propellant technology and numerical modeling. The book is richly illustrated with figures that support the concepts, and filled with tables for quick access to precise data. The accompanying CD-ROM contains computer codes that are the national standard by which modeling is evaluated. Dynamic material properties data files and animation files are also included. There is no other book available today that offers this vital information.
Download or read book Special Operations Forces Medical Handbook written by and published by Government Printing Office. This book was released on with total page 682 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A comprehensive reference designed for Special Operations Forces (SOF) medics. Developed as a primary medical information resource and field guide for the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) medics, the Special Operations Forces Medical Handbook defines the standard of health care delivery under adverse and general field conditions. It is organized according to symptoms, organ systems, specialty areas, operational environments and procedures. It emphasizes acute care in all its forms (gynecology, general medicine, dentistry, poisonings, infestations, parasitic infections, acute infections, hyper and hypothermia, high altitude, aerospace, and dive medicine, and much, much more) as well as veterinary medicine and sanitation practice under primitive conditions. It is the work of over 130 contributors and 57 reviewers from both the military and civilian practice. Topics are covered in a consistent subjective/objective/assessment/plan (SOAP) format. It is heavily illustrated with color for quick identification of dermatologic conditions, insect bites and stings and exposure problems. The second edition contains updated and expanded material from the 2001 release, including Pediatrics, Nursing, and ENT Problems. Printed on tear-resistant, water-resistant synthetic paper. A 5.25 inch by 8.5 inch quick-reference guide with a three hole punched ring binding. It includes 193 figures (37 in color) and 38 quick reference tables.
