Book excerpt: Everyone is taking DNA tests! Including me. I woke up one morning a stranger in my skin. I was no longer the woman I had built for 30 years. I was a lost soul with only a hologram existence. My Birth Certificate was a flat out lie. I was not the little girl from Gulfport with just honey brown skin. I was not the little girl who tried to straighten her curls. I was Val with a biological change in my mental makeup all because I spit into a DNA test tube. I lost not only my fake false idenity. I lost my race. I was raised white. To think white. To see white. My mothers lie took me on a road of self discovery that I must share. In order to heal and move past my racial beginnings. I confront the truth about racial relations and how every family has a voice in who we have actually become. My story started prior to the racial debate on full display in 2020. My look on the inside is a window of opportunity to help enlighten both Americas to our truths in racial justice and equality. How did my family react to my new discoveries? Did I change as a human being? Was my white husband of 30 years shocked to find his wife is a half black woman and not the white girl her mother forced upon her? Is there a difference in our races? Or did I discover we really are all the same? Was I able to forgive my mother for causing such deep pain that still resides deep in my soul with every breathe I take?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2022 Foreword INDIES Award Winner | Silver: Body, Mind Spirit 2023 IPPY Award Winner | Bronze: New Age/Mind, Body, Spirit Hidden in the darkness is an ancient secret suppressed by every aspect of our light-drunk modern world—there is a Great Mother from the bottom of time who has always guided us through perils and calamities. Now is the hour of Her return. “An exigent, affecting summons to rediscover the night.”—Kirkus Reviews Is darkness synonymous with ignorance and evil? Or is it the original matrix from which all life emerges, and the Mother to whom it returns? Higher and higher levels of artificial illumination have suppressed our contact with the numinous since the Industrial Revolution, with dire consequences for society, our planetary ecology, and our souls. This mystical testament weaves together paleobiology, memoir, history, science, and spiritual archaeology to lead readers back into the lost mysteries of the dark. Not since The Teachings of Don Juan or Ishmael has a book diagnosed with such urgency and cultural coherence the problems at the heart of modern life. In Waking Up to the Dark, Clark Strand offers penetrating insight into the spiritual enrichment that can be found when we pull the plug on our billion-watt culture. He argues that the insomnia so many of us experience as “the Hour of the Wolf” is really “the Hour of God”—a wellspring of rest and renewal, and an ancient reservoir of ancestral wisdom and inspiration. And in a powerful yet surprising turn, he shares with us an urgent message for the world, received through a mysterious young woman he calls Our Lady of Climate Change (aka THE VIRGIN MARY), about the challenges we all know are coming.

Book excerpt: What happens when a former Zen Buddhist monk and his feminist wife experience an apparition of the Virgin Mary? “This book could not have come at a more auspicious time, and the message is mystical perfection, not to mention a courageous one. I adore this book.”—Caroline Myss, author of Anatomy of the Spirit Before a vision of a mysterious “Lady” invited Clark Strand and Perdita Finn to pray the rosary, they were not only uninterested in becoming Catholic but finished with institutional religion altogether. Their main spiritual concerns were the fate of the planet and the future of their children and grandchildren in an age of ecological collapse. But this Lady barely even referred to the Church and its proscriptions. Instead, she spoke of the miraculous power of the rosary to transform lives and heal the planet, and revealed the secrets she had hidden within the rosary’s prayers and mysteries—secrets of a past age when forests were the only cathedrals and people wove rose garlands for a Mother whose loving presence was as close as the ground beneath their feet. She told Strand and Finn: The rosary is My body, and My body is the body of the world. Your body is one with that body. What cause could there be for fear? Weaving together their own remarkable story of how they came to the rosary, their discoveries about the eco-feminist wisdom at the heart of this ancient devotion, and the life-changing revelations of the Lady herself, the authors reveal an ancestral path—available to everyone, religious or not—that returns us to the powerful healing rhythms of the natural world.

Book Wake up Black Man and Black Woman

Download or read book Wake up Black Man and Black Woman written by Alpha Omega Riddick and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-08 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Black people of America, we need to stop reading books about thug life and street life. We need to read books that will open our minds to ideas and issues that will help us and our families and the future of black generations of this country. Black people of America, we were here before most of the other nationalities that are here now. We should be in a much better financial situation than we are in now. Most of us are at the bottom or near the bottom of the economic scale as a whole. We have to learn from the foreigners that stick together and open up businesses in our community. Plus we have to stop giving our hard-earned money to other nationalities and none to ourselves; in a way, we are still slaves. I wrote this book to inspire Black Americans to open there eyes to the positive changes we need to make to help our families and future black generations in America. This book shows how we are living compared to other nationalities in America, as well as the factors that are holding us back as a whole. We must remember our ancestors and the sacrifices they made when they were slaves. They were the strongest people in the world, and we are their descendants. I feel they were superhuman beings to make that trip from Africa to America. We as black Americans have that same ability in us to survive. Remember, we are the alpha race. We need to wake up and stop hitting the snooze button. May God bless this book and everyone that reads it.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this original and trenchant work, Christina Sharpe interrogates literary, visual, cinematic, and quotidian representations of Black life that comprise what she calls the "orthography of the wake." Activating multiple registers of "wake"—the path behind a ship, keeping watch with the dead, coming to consciousness—Sharpe illustrates how Black lives are swept up and animated by the afterlives of slavery, and she delineates what survives despite such insistent violence and negation. Initiating and describing a theory and method of reading the metaphors and materiality of "the wake," "the ship," "the hold," and "the weather," Sharpe shows how the sign of the slave ship marks and haunts contemporary Black life in the diaspora and how the specter of the hold produces conditions of containment, regulation, and punishment, but also something in excess of them. In the weather, Sharpe situates anti-Blackness and white supremacy as the total climate that produces premature Black death as normative. Formulating the wake and "wake work" as sites of artistic production, resistance, consciousness, and possibility for living in diaspora, In the Wake offers a way forward.

Kelley Why are so many of us Black Americans afraid to accept the blame for our own peril? Yes, we have been victims of systemic racism, poverty, wealth inequality, and police violence, but we have also caught ourselves in patterns which contribute to our demise. This book examines the history of not only the societal issues and stereotypes that have plagued our community for decades, but also the self-imposed burdens that continue to hold us back. Black homicide, drug usage, welfare, decrease in life expectancy, black incarceration and health problems are just a few issues covered in this thorough debut work by DeVere O. Kelley. Drawing from his own experiences and from the patterns of history, Kelley offers remedies for the obstacles still facing the Black community.

Book Hebrews to Negroes 2 Volume 2 Wake Up Black America

Download or read book Hebrews to Negroes 2 Volume 2 Wake Up Black America written by Ronald Dalton Jr and published by G Publishing. This book was released on 2016-06-10 with total page 676 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "From beyond the Rivers of Ethiopia My worshippers, My dispersed ones, Will bring My offerings." - Zephaniah 3:10 Modern Jewry has been looking for the "10 Lost Tribes of Israel" in countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, China, Arabia, and India but they never seem to look in Africa. The Ethiopian Jews and the Lemba Jews have been recognized by modern Jewry as having a connection to Ancient Israel but other African countries are often overlooked. Why is this? Jews today now boast to have "Israelite" heritage based on the "Cohen Model Haplogroup" genetic marker that they say links them to the High Priest Cohenite clan of Aaron, the brother of Moses. But what exactly is this "Cohen Model Haplogroup"? Who else in the world has it and is it really an "Israelite Genetic Marker" as they claim? In the Book, "Hebrews to Negroes 2: Volume 2, I dive in deep into the "world of genetics" to debunk the lies that has been spread about who we call "Jews" or the "Chosen People" today. Using Linguistics, Ancient written records from Arab historians, Craniometry, Tooth records, Ancient maps, Ancient archaeological relics, Ancient pictures, the Bible, Genetics and "Critical Thinking" one can find out the TRUTH about who the REAL ISRAELITES of the Bible are. It will tell us where we should be looking in regards to finding the "authentic" scattered "Children of Israel," not "outsiders" who have invaded Judea for the last 2,000 years and decided to convert to Judaism. In this Book many clues to our "many" questions about the Bible will be answered and explored. Such as: Who are the descendants of the Ancient Egyptians, Canaanites, Cushites and Phuttites today? Who are the "Original Arabs" and where are they at today? What is the connection between the Lemba Jews, African-Americans, Caribbean Blacks, Afro-Latinos and "Bantus" West/East Africans? Who are the indigenous Native Amerindians? Are they descendants of Ham, Shem or Japheth? Are the Native Amerindians Israelites? Do Latinos have any "Israelite" heritage? Where did the 10 Lost Tribes of Northern Israel (Samaria) go after they were exiled in 700 B.C. and is there any DNA proof of this? Who were the Jews that were exiled from Spain and Portugal in 1492 A.D.' Were they "Black Jews" or "White Jews"? Who are the Sephardic Jews and are they "imposters" as well? Who were the Moors? Were they mixed with "Israelite Blood"? Can we trace the migration pattern of the Edomites? If so, where are the Edomites today and what nations of people can we find the "bloodline" of Edom in? How do we know that the Ashkenazi Jew, the Sephardic Jew and the Mizrahi Jew today are "Gentiles" and not "Jews"? Are there any Israelites in Asia or the Middle East? A LIE CANNOT LIVE FOREVER! It is time for "Black America" and the World to know the Truth!"
