Book Ethique et politique en contexte global

Download or read book Ethique et politique en contexte global written by André Duhamel and published by Liber (Editions). This book was released on 2004 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Societal Responsibility of Artificial Intelligence

Download or read book Societal Responsibility of Artificial Intelligence written by Jerome Beranger and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2021-06-29 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The digital world is characterized by its immediacy, its density of information and its omnipresence, in contrast to the concrete world. Significant changes will occur in our society as AI becomes integrated into many aspects of our lives. This book focuses on this vision of universalization by dealing with the development and framework of AI applicable to all. It develops a moral framework based on a neo-Darwinian approach - the concept of Ethics by Evolution - to accompany AI by observing a certain number of requirements, recommendations and rules at each stage of design, implementation and use. The societal responsibility of artificial intelligence is an essential step towards ethical, eco-responsible and trustworthy AI, aiming to protect and serve people and the common good in a beneficial way.

Book Gender Temporary Work and Migration Management

Download or read book Gender Temporary Work and Migration Management written by Djemila Zeneidi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-04-07 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book delves into migration management via an original case study of a guest worker programme involving the circular migration to Spain of female Moroccan agricultural workers destined for the strawberry agri-food industry in the south. To ensure that they do return to Morocco, mothers of young children are first earmarked and then selected on the basis of their poor, rural origins and the supposed "delicacy of their hands". This book analyses the mechanisms through which migration and workforces are controlled, while also addressing the paradoxical experience of these female seasonal workers, at the intersection of domination and emancipation.

Book Religion and Violence

Download or read book Religion and Violence written by Hent de Vries and published by JHU Press. This book was released on 2003-05-01 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chosen as an Outstanding Academic Title for 2003 by Choice Magazine Originally published in 2002. Does violence inevitably shadow our ethico-political engagements and decisions, including our understandings of identity, whether collective or individual? Questions that touch upon ethics and politics can greatly benefit from being rephrased in terms borrowed from the arsenal of religious and theological figures, because the association of such figures with a certain violence keeps moralism, whether in the form of fideism or humanism, at bay. Religion and Violence: Philosophical Perspectives from Kant to Derrida's careful posing of such questions and rearticulations pioneers new modalities for systematic engagement with religion and philosophy alike.
