Book Hidden Divinity and Religious Belief

Download or read book Hidden Divinity and Religious Belief written by Adam Green and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2016-02-05 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of new essays written by an international team of scholars is a groundbreaking examination of the problem of divine hiddenness, one of the most dynamic areas in current philosophy of religion. Together, the essays constitute a wide-ranging dialogue on the problem. They balance atheistic and theistic standpoints, and they bring to bear not only on the standard philosophical perspectives but also on insights from Jewish, Muslim, and Eastern Orthodox traditions. The apophatic and the mystical are well-represented too. As a result, the volume throws fresh light on this familiar but important topic in the philosophy of religion. In the process, the volume incorporates contemporary work in epistemology, philosophy of mind and philosophy of language. For all these reasons, this book will be of great interest to researchers and advanced students in philosophy of religion and theology.

Book Is Divine Energy

    Book Details:
  • Author : Vipin Gupta
  • Publisher : Independently Published
  • Release : 2021-04-30
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 557 pages

Download or read book Is Divine Energy written by Vipin Gupta and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2021-04-30 with total page 557 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is Divine Energy: The secret of the limitless immanent value is a profound explanation of why divine is a state of mind. Our divinity is the impact we make through our conscious decisions. We also reproduce transcendental divinity by para-consciously letting our decisions be guided by a para entity's divine plan. After that, we seek to invest our divine energy to compensate for programmatic, evolution-guided behaviors and become a revolutionary servicing our supernatural impact. What begins with a linear proportionality of each person's intrinsic divinity transforms into a nonlinear proportionality of the extrinsic divinity and motivates a parabolic proportionality of the person's present, absolute divinity. The infinity of microcosmic parabolic reactions constitutes a chaotic reality at the macrocosmic level. The chaotic reality lets the first moving, primordial entities enjoy a disproportionate conscious benefit of growth in their divinity. The later evolving, primeval entities suffer a disproportionate conscious cost of entropy in their divinity. At any moment, the present entity has a choice not to be either the evolved and constrained follower or the revolving and constraining leader. A present entity may decide to be a freedom entrepreneur, inspiring everybody to be the revolutionary and appropriate the entire evolutionary benefit of devoted followership of the perpetuating para deity oneself. For avoiding the certainty of the survival of only the one who is free from the two-dimensional present-effect as the fittest, we need to master the technique of responsibly managing the divine element. Is Divine Energy highlights how by opening one's mind, one may become free from the theory-effect of a culturally-binding primordial creator and the ideal-effect of a consciousness-binding absolute creature. It demonstrates how each primeval creation of Mother Nature can enjoy the limitless transformations of the desired mood, destiny, divinity, and eternity using the self as the immanent value. It elegantly integrates and resolves grand challenges in a range of scientific disciplines and metaphysical discourses.

Book The Intrinsic Value of Nature

Download or read book The Intrinsic Value of Nature written by Leena Vilkka and published by Rodopi. This book was released on 1997 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is intrinsic value? What is the origin of value? Are people always superior to nature? This book is a philosophical analysis of the human relationship to the non-human world. It is a pioneering study of the philosophy of nature-conservation in relation to the discussion of intrinsic value. Vilkka develops a naturalistic or naturocentric theory of value that is based on ethical extensionism and pluralism. Vilkka analyzes natural values and environmental attitudes: zoocentrism, biocentrism, and ecocentrism. This book forms a taxonomy for nature having intrinsic value. The theory of intrinsic value is based on naturocentric and naturogenic values. The book questions the thesis of weak anthropocentrism that denies the existence of naturogenic values. In Vilkka's theory, animals and nature are the origin of value. She defends the existence of zoogenic and biogenic values in the non-human world and discusses the possibility of ecogenic value, nature as a whole having value independent of human or animal minds. Vilkka analyzes the goodness and rights of nature, the problem of priorities, and ecological humanism. A naturocentric recommendation is that the well-being of animals and nature should have priority over human values at least in some real decision contexts. Ecological humanism recommends an attitude of respect for people, animals, and nature. The book includes an extensive glossary, index, and bibliography.

Book Jonathan Edwards Concerning The End for Which God Created the World

Download or read book Jonathan Edwards Concerning The End for Which God Created the World written by Walter J. Schultz and published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. This book was released on 2020-01-20 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is an exposition of Jonathan Edwards' argumentation in his dissertation Concerning the End for Which God Created the World. In addition to stating Edwards' theses regarding God's end and motivation in creation, this book identifies and discusses the assumptions of his argumentation, analyses and explains its crucial components, and explores its philosophical implications. These implications include a version of exemplarism (i.e., the nature of God's ideas for creation), dispositionalism (i.e., the characteristics of God which explain God's motivation), and emanationism (i.e., what God shares of himself with persons who have a living faith in Christ). These entail a view of idealism (i.e., a view of the ultimate ontological ground of the universe), God's temporal nature, continuous creationism (i.e., how God sustains creation), a version of panentheism (i.e., how God, who is infinite, is related to creation, from which God is absolutely distinct), and occasionalism (i.e., the nature of causation of physical events or states of creation). These concepts and what they entail constitute a complete metaphysical system, providing a thoroughgoing divine action understanding of the foundation of reality. For Jonathan Edwards, God's acting according to his plans for his purposes in Christ is fundamental to all things. Were we to have an understanding of how the fundamental concepts of science, mathematics, and ordinary experience are related in reality to the God who acts for his original ultimate end in creation, sustaining the universe, while providentially guiding its affairs, and working redemption, we would have the opportunity to develop these as he had hoped, he pointed the way for others to follow.
