Book Radiology of the Lower Urinary Tract

Download or read book Radiology of the Lower Urinary Tract written by Erich K. Lang and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 588 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Significant recent advances in the imaging of the lower urinary tract are comprehensively presented in this handbook. It offers information on both imaging examinations and interventional techniques with all the modern modalities, including MRI and ultrasound. The contributors are all experts in clinical urology; their varying and at times conflicting opinions track the fast-moving pace in the field and demonstrate the complexity of the subject. The approach is disease-oriented, though grouped by anatomic region. Each chapter covers etiology, physiology, pathology, epidemiology, clinical presentations and especially diagnostic imaging, but also the appropriate interventional radiologic techniques for both diagnosis and treatment.

Book Imaging and Urodynamics of the Lower Urinary Tract

Download or read book Imaging and Urodynamics of the Lower Urinary Tract written by Uday Patel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-01-18 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lower urinary tract symptoms may be the result of a structural or functional abn- mality. To consider either in isolation would be an incomplete assessment, but c- bined anatomical and functional imaging provides a more powerful and complete tool for investigation of lower urinary tract malfunction. Yet many of the currently available radiological texts concerning lower urinary tract imaging fail to discuss these two aspects in a holistic manner. We hope that this book will fll this gap. Although it is written to be as comprehensive as possible such that it covers the vast majority of lower urinary tract disorders that will be encountered in adult urological practice, it is not meant to replace conventional textbooks of uroradiology. Rather, it is meant to be practical and user friendly. It is intended for everyday clinical use; it should allow the trainee and trained radiologist or urologist to plan a logical, yet complete radiological and dynamic investigation of the lower urinary tract. It should also be useful for nurse practitioners, medical students, and all other medical staff who commonly manage lower urinary tract disorders.

Book Imaging and Technology in Urology

Download or read book Imaging and Technology in Urology written by Steve Payne and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-04-12 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imaging and Technology: Principles and Clinical Applications is a practical and user-friendly consolidated source book for urologists, and urologists in training, regarding the basic science of imaging modalities used on a day-to-day basis in urological practice. Similarly, the intention is to provide an introduction to the technology that is used in the practice of urological surgery and the management of urological patients in the clinical setting. This knowledge level is appropriate for certification for independent consultant practice in urology in the UK. The book is also valuable to urologists and urological trainees outside of the UK and in other surgical specialities.

Book Radiology of the Upper Urinary Tract

Download or read book Radiology of the Upper Urinary Tract written by Lawrence R. Bigongiari and published by Springer. This book was released on 1991 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The advent in recent years of several new imaging modalities for the application in diag nosis and patient management has had an unprecedented impact on patient care. By per mitting the acquisition of information without intervention, these new modalities have made the diagnostic process more humane. They have also made possible the treatment of many disorders of the upper and lower urinary tract by means of interventional tech niques, replacing a number of surgical procedures. The editor of this volume has engaged international experts in radiology to describe the state of the art of radio log y of the upper urinary tract. Local and regional abnormalities are covered, but so too is the involvement of urinary structures in systemic disease. The radiologic approach and interpretation are combined with the presentation of pertinent clinical observations and important pathophysiologic concepts. The text is concise and the illustrations are appropriate. Up-to-date international bibliographies are provided. Both the text and the illustrations will serve as sources of information for the radiologists, urol ogists, nephrologists, gynecologists, and oncologists. Most importantly, the material is presented in such a way that practicing specialists dealing with urologic disorders, as well as physicians in training will benefit. We feel that it is timely to publish a present day treatise on urinary tract radiology in order to convey the contributions made by various newer imaging modalities to the diagnosis of urinary disorders.

Book Radiology and Follow up of Urologic Surgery

Download or read book Radiology and Follow up of Urologic Surgery written by Christopher R. J. Woodhouse and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2017-08-30 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first guide to identifying and assessing changes following urologic surgery—with follow-up protocols What is the normal appearance of a kidney after radio frequency ablation of a tumor and what does a local recurrence look like? How does the urine flow down the ureters after a trans-uretero-ureterostomy? What is the normal appearance of the urinary tract after a cystoplasty? Most clinicians would be hard-pressed to provide answers to such fundamental questions concerning post-surgical anatomy and physiology, and equally challenged to find evidence-based information on the subject. Most of the literature in radiology and urologic surgery is orientated towards diagnosis and disease management. Although this often includes complications and outcomes, the clinician is often in the dark as to the anatomical and physiological changes that follow successful treatment—especially in cases involving conservative or reconstructive surgery. To rectify this, the editors invited colleagues to share insights gleaned during their careers. The results are contained in Radiology and Follow-up of Urologic Surgery. Extremely well-illustrated throughout with color photographs and line drawings, Radiology and Follow-up of Urologic Surgery: Features sections devoted to each of the organs of the genito-urinary tract with chapters covering the major diseases and operations that are used to treat them Focuses on the “new normal” following surgery with an emphasis on the identification of normal changes versus complications Covers the radiologic changes and biochemical and histological findings which are found following reconstructions Offers guidelines for clinical and radiological follow up after urological surgery in some key areas Radiology and Follow-up of Urologic Surgery is essential reading for surgical residents in urology, as well as radiology residents specializing in urology. It also belongs on the reference shelves of urologists, urological surgeons, obstetric/gynecologic surgeons, and radiologists with an interest in the field, at whatever stage in their career.

Book Images in Urology

    Book Details:
  • Author : Simon Bott
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2012-01-20
  • ISBN : 0857297686
  • Pages : 445 pages

Download or read book Images in Urology written by Simon Bott and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-01-20 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Images in Urology is a unique book that integrates images of urological conditions within their clinical context. Improvements in imaging techniques have meant greater diagnostic power and a dramatic rise in the number and quality of images obtained and viewed by practicing clinicians. None more so than in the field of urology, where static and dynamic images are fundamental to the diagnosis and treatment of almost all conditions. This book presents images of radiological and radionucleotide scans, macroscopic and microscopic histopathology specimens, urodynamic traces and photographs of dermatological conditions relating to urology. Each section has a series of questions, often relating to a clinical scenario, about the images. A comprehensive answer provides a description of each image and of the condition shown. Details of how to interpret the image and the use of contrast or staining methods to help differentiate normal anatomy from pathology are included. Images in Urology is an essential tool for urology, radiology and histopathology trainees and consultants, as well as being an excellent exam preparation guide.
