Book Ocular Therapeutics

  • Author : L. De Wecker
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2015-08-06
  • ISBN : 9781332346448
  • Pages : 574 pages

Download or read book Ocular Therapeutics written by L. De Wecker and published by . This book was released on 2015-08-06 with total page 574 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Ocular Therapeutics: With Illustrations This work was originally delivered in the form of clinical lectures during the years 1877-8 to the students and practitioners, both French and foreign, who attended Professor de Wecker's well-known clinique in the Rue du Cher die Midi. The lectures were at the time reported verbatim by Dr. Masselon, the Chef de Clinique and afterwards revised and amplified by the Professor himself, and published as a whole. They will, it is hoped, be followed by the translation of a similar volume recently published and dealing exclusively with Ocular Surgery. The reception which these lectures have met with in France has been most satisfactory; they have been translated into Italian and Spanish, and will shortly appear in German. In spite of the many able treatises which exist on Ophthalmology in the English language, it is believed that there is ample room for a work like the present. While intended primarily and chiefly for practitioners of general medicine, it will also, it is hoped, in many respects be found not unworthy the attention of specialtists. Book Ocular Theraputics and Drug Delivery

Download or read book Ocular Theraputics and Drug Delivery written by Indra K. Reddy and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1995-12-12 with total page 618 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since ocular therapeutics and drug delivery is a subject of interest to specialists from various disciplines such as chemical, biochemical, medical, pharmaceutical, and toxicological, it truly presents a unique situation requiring a multi-disciplinary approach in understanding and addressing various problems. Yet we see that scientists associated with these areas are working, by and large, independently of one another, thus limiting dissemination of knowledge, experience and ideas that would greatly enhance the overall progress in this area of research. Regrettably, the information currently available in ocular therapeutics and drug delivery, though extensive, is still fragmented into various disciplines making meaningful synthesis difficult. Several books are available that cover one or two aspects of the multi-disciplinary fields on an individual basis; however, none is available that covers all of them. The chapters contained in this book are specific to various interrelated areas of ocular therapeutics and drug delivery and are written by acknowledged experts from both academia and industry. The book itself is divided into five parts, namely: (I) overview, basic principles, and methodology; (II) pathopharmacology and clinical applications; (III) chemical/ biochemical approaches to ocular drug delivery; (IV) formulation and drug delivery considerations; and (V) industrial and regulatory considerations. Individual chapters in each section, apart from presenting a concise text, entail an extensive listing of references.
