Aaron Tyner came on board before the next annual meeting. Tyner graduated from Wingate College, Furman University and Golden Gate Theological Seminary. He had served as associational missionary in the Holly Hill section of South Carolina. To help Tyner as he moved in, the association executive committee approved money to paint the missionary's home and to purchase a stove. Tyner held the missionary's position through September, 1973.
