Book Ultrawideband Short Pulse Radio Systems

Download or read book Ultrawideband Short Pulse Radio Systems written by and published by . This book was released on 2018-05 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ultra-wideband (UWB), short-pulse (SP) electromagnetics are now being used for an increasingly wide variety of applications, including collision avoidance radar, concealed object detection, and communications. Notable progress in UWB and SP technologies has been achieved by investigations of their theoretical bases and improvements in solid-state manufacturing, computers, and digitizers. UWB radar systems are also being used for mine clearing, oil pipeline inspections, archeology, geology, and electronic effects testing. This book 'Ultrawideband Short-Pulse Radio Systems' provides a comprehensive treatment of the methods, analysis, and practice of impulse and ultrawideband (UWB) systems. It presents key insight into cutting edge information on impulse and short-pulse wireless engineering together with practical guidance on how to build antennas and radio hardware for high-power impulse signals. During the last decade, there has been much progress on UWB technologies. To understand the behavior of UWB signals, the UWB propagation channel is measured and characterized. Different channel models for practical UWB systems have been proposed in multipath environments. Since UWB signals potentially have high resolution in ranging, the different UWB ranging systems, in multipath environments, have been investigated. It includes contributions from world-wide researchers and authors on electromagnetic theory, time-domain computational techniques, modeling, antennas, pulsed-power, UWB interactions, radar systems, UWB communications, and broadband systems and components. This book serves as an up to date guide for advanced graduate students, practitioners, and scientists working in these applications areas.

Book Ultra Wideband Pulse based Radio

Download or read book Ultra Wideband Pulse based Radio written by Wim Vereecken and published by Springer. This book was released on 2010-10-28 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today’s booming expanse of personal wireless radio communications is a rich source of new challenges for the designer of the underlying enabling te- nologies. Personal communication networks are designed from a fundam- tally different perspective than broadcast service networks, such as radio and television. While the focus of the latter is on reliability and user comfort, the emphasis of personal communication devices is on throughput and mobility. However, because the wireless channel is a shared transmission medium with only very limited resources, a trade-off has to be made between mobility and the number of simultaneous users in a con?ned geographical area. Accord- 1 ing to Shannon’s theorem on channel capacity, the overall data throughput of a communication channel bene?ts from either a linear increase of the tra- mission bandwidth, or an (equivalent) exponential increase in signal quality. Consequently, it is more bene?cial to think in terms of channel bandwidth than it is to pursue a high transmission power. All the above elements are embodied in the concept of spatial ef?ciency. By describing the throughput of a system 2 in terms of bits/s/Hz/m , spatial ef?ciency takes into account that the use of a low transmission power reduces the operational range of a radio transmission, and as such enables a higher reuse rate of the same frequency spectrum.

Book Ultra Large Bande Radio par Impulsions

Download or read book Ultra Large Bande Radio par Impulsions written by Charbel Saber and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Dictionary of Electronics

Download or read book Dictionary of Electronics written by and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The special interest in electronics all over the world is due to its decisive role in the scien tific and technical progress now taking place in all fields of modern technology. Electronics also plays a decisive role in the development of science, providing as it does the technical basis for various scientific experiments. The role of electronics in the development of the world's culture also deserves a special mention. That is why it is hoped that the English-German French-Dutch-Russian Dictionary of Electronics, which contains some 9.000 entries and is jointly published by Kluwer Technische Boeken, B.V. (Deventer, Holland) and Ruski Yazyk Publishers (Moscow, USSR) will be favourably received. In accordance with existing international tradition, the term «electronics» covers several fields known in Soviet classification as elec tronics proper, radio engineering, and wire communication. The entries included in this dictionary have been selected in accordance with the international understanding of the term «electronics». One of the main difficulties encountered by the compilers was that although according to some calculations the number of terms used in special literature on electronics exceeds 50.000, the vocabulary of the dictionary had to be restricted to only 9.000 entries. Therefore this dictionary cannot claim to be comprehensive. Its purpose is to enable a wide range of specialists in various countries to find the English, German, French, Dutch, or Russian equivalents of the principal and most up-to-date terms in the field of electronics. Most attention has been paid to quantum electronics, fibre optics, optoelectronics, integrated circuit technology, radiolocation and radionavigation, pulse technique, holography, etc.

  • ISBN : 940096787X
  • Pages : 106 pages

Download or read book Acoustics Dictionary written by W. Reichardt and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Interest in acoustics continues to increase. Although this branch of science was concerned primarily with the promotion of qualitative and quantitative sound transmission until a few decades ago, emphasis is currently placed also on the limitation of sound nuisance and, by extension, the setting of boundaries for permissible sound levels in places \vhere people are found. This last aspect in particular is exercising more and more influence on the design of buildings and machines, and in town and country planning. In addition, sound vibrations, because of their physical characteristics, are being used increasingly in disparate disciplines such as navigation, medical investigation and non destructive materials research. The flood of publications resulting from this increased interest in acoustics has led to a growing number of people being confronted with terminology which had until quite re cently only been used by a relatively small group of specialists and had remained largely unknown as a result. This four language dictionary, based on 'W. Reichardt, Technische Akustik; Berlin 1979', has been compiled to make not only this literature but also the nomenclature of equipment and instructions for their use accessible to the specialist and the interested layman.
