Book Advancing Research on Teachers Professional Vision Implementing novel Technologies Methods and Theories

Download or read book Advancing Research on Teachers Professional Vision Implementing novel Technologies Methods and Theories written by Christian Kosel and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-07-25 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A classroom full of students can be overwhelming for teachers. It is critical that teachers are able to filter and meaningfully interpret the relevant information in this complex scenario. Much of this filtering and interpretation occurs through selective visual perception. Over the last decade, a rapidly growing number of studies in empirical educational research used eye tracking to investigate teachers' selective visual perceptual processes in the classroom. Theoretically, visual attention and perception are often conceptualized as knowledge-based noticing coupled with knowledge-based reasoning about what is visually perceived. Recent eye-tracking studies have shown that experienced teachers, in particular, show improved selective attention of classroom events through faster detection of relevant information and improved monitoring of learning-relevant situations. Researchers agree that a critical driver of selective attention processes is the professional knowledge (declarative, procedural, and metacognitive) of (experienced) teachers, which controls selective perceptual processes in a top-down process. The findings are significant and provide important insights for research on teacher professionalization.

Book The Complete Paramotor Pilot s Book of Knowledge

Download or read book The Complete Paramotor Pilot s Book of Knowledge written by Darrell Smith and published by . This book was released on 2019-04-25 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The one book that every beginner to intermediate pilot needs. The complete paramotor pilot's book of knowledge will take you through the entire training process and beyond, and will teach you everything you need to know to become a safe and confident pilot. With helpful pictures, illustrations, and explanations of everything you need to know, from launching and landing, to handling emergencies. Paramotor training is important, but unfortunately courses are incredibly short. Time is of the essence, so 95% of training is spent in the field ground handling, and with a few very short flights. New pilots are coming away from training with less than 5 hours flight time, and very little knowledge of so many important aspects of the sport. This manual contains everything you need to know, spread over 150 pages that you can return to whenever you need help, instead of using trial and error like most pilots do. The book has been put together with beginners in mind, but even pilots with a few hours behind them are sure to find the information very valuable. It's designed to take you through the entire training process and beyond. You'll learn secrets that you won't be told during training, and essential information that instructors are failing to teach. Many people don't have the time to study an entire book, so everything is split up into handy bite-size sections, that you can enjoy one at a time. With helpful images and illustrations, and thorough explanations of everything from the theory of flight, to developing skills and confidence in the air. Throughout the book, you'll find lots of tips and tricks, and handy yellow highlighted boxes that contain important safety information. And at the end, there's even a multiple choice exam that you can take to make sure you've absorbed everything that you have learned. The book is designed to be read in the order that the sections appear, this lets you learn the basics first; before moving onto the more advanced stuff, like handling wing malfunctions, and emergencies. There are sections that will appeal to foot launch, and cart pilots. We look at setting up foot launched, and wheeled machines. And the solo flight section deals with both foot launched, and wheeled takeoffs and landings. The rules and airspace sections are written with both US, and UK pilots in mind. And there is a small international air law section that will apply to pilots worldwide. The book will give you a head start, or provide you with a second phase of training. It will serve you well as you progress in the sport, but to note, the book is not meant for self training. It's recommended that everybody seek professional instruction, while using this book alongside such training, and to increase your knowledge of the sport.

Book Radio Mastery for VFR Pilots

Download or read book Radio Mastery for VFR Pilots written by Jeff Kanarish and published by . This book was released on 2021-02-25 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everything you need to know to talk to air traffic control while flying VFR. Newly updated and revised for ATC's NextGen system of operation, including ADS-B. This second edition adds links to free online videos of the book's flying scenarios. Sit in the left-seat of a simulated Cessna 172 and watch the techniques and procedures of ATC communication come to life in real time. Why is it so hard to put an intelligible sentence together when you key the microphone of your aircraft radio? Communication on the aviation radio band is complicated. The language of air traffic control is specialized. You must speak precisely and efficiently, without all the filler and extra words we use in everyday conversation. Your aircraft and air traffic around you continually move forward. You cannot put the situation on pause while you mentally catch up. It's no wonder so many student pilots, and even certified pilots, become brain locked when they key the microphone to speak. The mental, and even physical demands of speaking on the aircraft radio are ridiculously high. Learning how to meet those demands takes training, patience, and practice; a lot of hands-on practice. Radio Mastery for VFR Pilots is the training and the practice you need to talk confidently to Air Traffic Control (ATC). From VFR flight in uncontrolled airspace through VFR flight at busy, controlled airports, every situation is covered with real-life examples and plenty of humor. Best of all, each chapter concludes with hands-on practical exercises. Practice begins with chair-flying radio procedures at home and concludes with practice in your aircraft. If you have been flying miles out of your way simply to avoid controlled airspace, Radio Mastery for VFR Pilots is the solution to your problem. If you have avoided contacting ATC for flight following because you believe it is "too much work," this book will change your mind. Whether you are just learning to fly, or you are a certified pilot, Radio Mastery for VFR pilots is going to open the door to ATC and make you a skilled, confident communicator on the aircraft radio.
