The power distributed to rural districts is, and probably must always be, but a relatively small proportion of the power distributed by the Commission. The supplying of electrical service in rural areas, and especially on the farm, has, however, been of great economic benefit to Ontario. The Provincial government grants-in-aid to this work have been of assistance to agricultural activities, and have enabled the Commission to extend transmission lines to many areas which could not otherwise have received the benefits of electrical service.
