She was asked to participate in the Miss Georgia Universe Pageant in 1970, where she received the honor of Miss Congeniality. She has been a legal secretary most of her life, preparing residential real estate closings for the last 25-plus years. She lost her job as many others did due to the recent recession. She currently lives with her husband, Chuck, and poodle, Dallas, in Woodstock, GA, which is a small community a little northwest of Atlanta.
