Book excerpt: Introduction : la greffe de dents autogènes fait référence au repositionnement de dents autogènes dans un autre site d'extraction chez le même individu. Elle est documentée pour la première fois en 1954 par Hale. Cette revue de la littérature a pour objectif d'évaluer la documentation sur ce sujet. Matériels : 30 articles sur l'autotransplantation de dent de sagesse à la place de premières molaires ont été sélectionné pour cette revue de la littérature. Trois combinaisons de mots clés : third molar, autotransplantation et first molar ont été appliqués dans différentes bases de données. Ces articles sont la description de cas cliniques. Résultats : nous rapportons un taux de réussite de 100% et un taux de survie de 96,77% avec seulement 2 dents ayant été extraites. Discussion : depuis le premier rapport de cas de transplantation dentaire réussie dans les années 1950, divers cas d'autotransplantation ont été rapportés avec un taux de survie variable. Le taux de survie variable est dû au fait que la procédure est sensible à la technique et nécessite une sélection rigoureuse des cas. Conclusion : l'autotransplantation de la dent de sagesse à la place de la première molaire est une technique ayant montrée d'excellents taux de survie et semble être compétitive à la technique implantaire. Cependant des études avec un meilleur niveau de preuve sont nécessaires pour confirmer ces résultats.
