Hes got a phony business card and a line for every situation--and every conquest. But the ultimate player is about to play himself right outta the game. Because a couple of Trents ex-girlfriends are about to make him wish hed listened to his momma. . . The only person Trent cant seem to get around anymore is his big brother, Wil. Wils got problems of his own. He thought he was happily married, until his wife, Diane, stopped being intimate with him. Shes got her reasons, but if she doesnt explain herself soon, she may lose her husband to his voluptuous--and lusty--new secretary. Meanwhile, little sister Melanie is all grown up and sure shes met her prince--literally. Prince may be a friend of Trents, but the two men are like night and day. Book Fractional Order Systems

Download or read book Fractional Order Systems written by Ivo Petráš and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-10-29 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is focused on fractional order systems. Historically, fractional calculus has been recognized since the inception of regular calculus, with the first written reference dated in September 1695 in a letter from Leibniz to L’Hospital. Nowadays, fractional calculus has a wide area of applications in areas such as physics, chemistry, bioengineering, chaos theory, control systems engineering, and many others. In all those applications, we deal with fractional order systems in general. Moreover, fractional calculus plays an important role even in complex systems and therefore allows us to develop better descriptions of real-world phenomena. On that basis, fractional order systems are ubiquitous, as the whole real world around us is fractional. Due to this reason, it is urgent to consider almost all systems as fractional order systems. This Special Issue explores applications of such systems to control, synchronization, and various mathematical models, as for instance, MRI, long memory process, diffusion.

Book Fractal Geometry and Stochastics VI

Download or read book Fractal Geometry and Stochastics VI written by Uta Freiberg and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-03-23 with total page 307 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection of contributions originates from the well-established conference series "Fractal Geometry and Stochastics" which brings together researchers from different fields using concepts and methods from fractal geometry. Carefully selected papers from keynote and invited speakers are included, both discussing exciting new trends and results and giving a gentle introduction to some recent developments. The topics covered include Assouad dimensions and their connection to analysis, multifractal properties of functions and measures, renewal theorems in dynamics, dimensions and topology of random discrete structures, self-similar trees, p-hyperbolicity, phase transitions from continuous to discrete scale invariance, scaling limits of stochastic processes, stemi-stable distributions and fractional differential equations, and diffusion limited aggregation. Representing a rich source of ideas and a good starting point for more advanced topics in fractal geometry, the volume will appeal to both established experts and newcomers.

Book Applications Of Fractional Calculus In Physics

Download or read book Applications Of Fractional Calculus In Physics written by Rudolf Hilfer and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2000-03-02 with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fractional calculus is a collection of relatively little-known mathematical results concerning generalizations of differentiation and integration to noninteger orders. While these results have been accumulated over centuries in various branches of mathematics, they have until recently found little appreciation or application in physics and other mathematically oriented sciences. This situation is beginning to change, and there are now a growing number of research areas in physics which employ fractional calculus. This volume provides an introduction to fractional calculus for physicists, and collects easily accessible review articles surveying those areas of physics in which applications of fractional calculus have recently become prominent.

Book Handbook of Fourier Analysis Its Applications

Download or read book Handbook of Fourier Analysis Its Applications written by Robert J Marks II and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2009-01-08 with total page 799 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fourier analysis has many scientific applications - in physics, number theory, combinatorics, signal processing, probability theory, statistics, option pricing, cryptography, acoustics, oceanography, optics and diffraction, geometry, and other areas. In signal processing and related fields, Fourier analysis is typically thought of as decomposing a signal into its component frequencies and their amplitudes. This practical, applications-based professional handbook comprehensively covers the theory and applications of Fourier Analysis, spanning topics from engineering mathematics, signal processing and related multidimensional transform theory, and quantum physics to elementary deterministic finance and even the foundations of western music theory. As a definitive text on Fourier Analysis, Handbook of Fourier Analysis and Its Applications is meant to replace several less comprehensive volumes on the subject, such as Processing of Multifimensional Signals by Alexandre Smirnov, Modern Sampling Theory by John J. Benedetto and Paulo J.S.G. Ferreira, Vector Space Projections by Henry Stark and Yongyi Yang and Fourier Analysis and Imaging by Ronald N. Bracewell. In addition to being primarily used as a professional handbook, it includes sample problems and their solutions at the end of each section and thus serves as a textbook for advanced undergraduate students and beginning graduate students in courses such as: Multidimensional Signals and Systems, Signal Analysis, Introduction to Shannon Sampling and Interpolation Theory, Random Variables and Stochastic Processes, and Signals and Linear Systems.
