Book Tourism and Hidden Treasures of Nigeria

Download or read book Tourism and Hidden Treasures of Nigeria written by Ayodabo Esuola and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the beginning of what to come as revealed in the book of time. This book "Tourism and Hidden Treasures of Nigeria" has revealed the culture and ancient civilization of Africans in ages past, and not just about Nigerians, but about Africa and Africans. It has struck on the fact but hidden questions of the identities of some African Tribes, culture, religion and Nations from the beginning of time. From who they are then and what their captors say they are now. It has led to further research and better understanding of the Bible and other ancient books, rather than just sit on the pews and listen to the retold stories by the Ministers and Pastors. Also, further search has shed light to real identities of Africans, and what Africa use to be over 6000 years ago ever before the rest of the world were known or discovered. Now,the question is, will Africans or the Black race ever get up to ask themselves what, when, where and why without seeking answers from their captors or will they just sit on the fence and wait? Not nightmares I have had since my knowledge of these things to come, but a sleepless night and conflicting daylight thoughts on when and how to reveal them for acceptance and better understanding of the new beginning. Read about answers to some questions in this book and wait for the final word which is to come!

Book Archaeology Heritage and Tourism in West Africa

Download or read book Archaeology Heritage and Tourism in West Africa written by Samuel Oluwole Ogundele and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2024-10-11 with total page 233 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: West Africa is a rich storehouse of heritage resources belonging to different time periods. Archaeologists attempt to exhume, analyse, and interpret aspects of human history found in artifacts and their contexts. The longstanding assumption that archaeology is simply a science of the past, with little thought for the present, must be rejected. This book makes a striking argument for a curricular revolution which taps into the strengths of such allied fields as heritage, tourism, and museum management, which come together to constitute Cultural Resource Management (CRM). This account reveals, in an inspiringly clear fashion, that the era of conceptualising archaeology as a near-complete academic exercise is over. Trans-disciplinary knowledge application, such as that which is found in CRM, has the capacity to create employment opportunities for archaeologists, and other cultural resource management graduates, in West Africa and beyond. It is time to take a first step in constructing the pathways of progress in the competitive world of modern education.

Book Legal and other Issues in Repatriating Nigeria s Looted Artefacts

Download or read book Legal and other Issues in Repatriating Nigeria s Looted Artefacts written by Babatunde Adebiyi and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-09-24 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book Legal and other Issues in Repatriating Nigeria's Looted Artefacts enumerates the various means of repatriating Nigeria's illicitly exported artefacts. The book hopes to ignite the interest of all in how to use the acclaim of Nigeria's splendid cultural patrimony to kick-start a momentum that will instil patriotism in Nigerians. The book reveals that the available laws to aid repatriation are skewed in favour of the nations in possession thus making it an onerous task to repatriate these stolen artefacts. However the book expresses the hope that some arrangement can be reached by all concerned that will at least make Nigeria and other source nations have some proprietary rights over their cultural property. The author, Babatunde E. Adebiyi is Legal Adviser to Nigeria's National Commission for Museums and Monuments. He has written extensively on laws relating to cultural issues. His other works include Tourism Development in Nigeria: Another Approach and Branding Culture.
