Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Korinjski hrib in poznoanti ne voja ke utrdbe v Iliriku Korinjski hrib and late antique military forts in Illyricum

Download or read book Korinjski hrib in poznoanti ne voja ke utrdbe v Iliriku Korinjski hrib and late antique military forts in Illyricum written by Slavko Ciglenečki and published by Založba ZRC. This book was released on 2020-02-01 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: V monografiji so predstavljeni rezultati dveletnih izkopavanj (1982 in 1983) na utrjeni poznoantični višinski naselbini Korinjski hrib nad Velikim Korinjem v Suhi Krajini, kjer so bili raziskani ostanki petih obrambnih stolpov in zgodnjekrščanske cerkve. Omenjene dileme so − poleg geografskega orisa in zgodovine raziskav − predstavljene v uvodnem delu. Sledi obsežen sklop, ki v tekstu in z bogatim slikovnim gradivom predstavi terenske izvide izkopavanj stolpov, cerkve in pripadajočega manjšega grobišča.

Book Most na So i

Download or read book Most na So i written by Miha Milnar and published by Založba ZRC. This book was released on 2020 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Between Ravenna and Constantinople

Download or read book Between Ravenna and Constantinople written by Slavko Ciglenečki and published by Založba ZRC. This book was released on 2023 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book From West to East written by Scott D. Stull and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2015-04-01 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is a collection of current work in medieval archaeology, mainly as it is practiced in North America, with a comprehensive view rather than a local or regional perspective, allowing scholars from different regions access to research from across the medieval world. It includes chapters from well-established professors and up-and-coming scholars. The majority of the papers came from the first annual conference in medieval archaeology held at the State University of New York at Cortland in 2013. This conference gave those located in North America who were interested in medieval archaeology, both of Europe and the Mediterranean world, a chance to see what the latest developments were in the discipline. This volume includes both methodological and theoretical approaches, such as integrating remote sensing with laser scanning or exploring the definition of ethnicity; chapters include Viking Vinland, castles in Ireland and England, several Byzantine and Islamic-era sites in the eastern Mediterranean, and various other topics, ranging from a church in Hungary to the social construction of the medieval diet.

Book The Mirror of the Medieval

Download or read book The Mirror of the Medieval written by K. Patrick Fazioli and published by Berghahn Books. This book was released on 2017-05-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since its invention by Renaissance humanists, the myth of the “Middle Ages” has held a uniquely important place in the Western historical imagination. Whether envisioned as an era of lost simplicity or a barbaric nightmare, the medieval past has always served as a mirror for modernity. This book gives an eye-opening account of the ways various political and intellectual projects—from nationalism to the discipline of anthropology—have appropriated the Middle Ages for their own ends. Deploying an interdisciplinary toolkit, author K. Patrick Fazioli grounds his analysis in contemporary struggles over power and identity in the Eastern Alps, while also considering the broader implications for scholarly research and public memory.

  • Pages : 568 pages

Download or read book The Land Between written by Oto Luthar and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2008 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This is a history of a space - a space between the Panonian plain in the East and the most northernmost bay in the Adriatic in the West, from the eastern Alps in the North and the Dinaridic mountain area in the South. It is also a history of all the different people who lived in this area. The authors show that the Slavs did not settle an empty space and simply replace the Celto-Roman inhabitants of earlier times; they are, on the contrary, presented as the result of reciprocal acculturation. The authors show that the Slovenes made more than two important appearances throughout the entire feudal era; the same holds for later periods, especially for the twentieth century. This book offers a concise and complete history of an area that finally became an integral part of Central Europe and the Balkans."--Pub. desc.

Book Smlednik Castle

    Book Details:
  • Author : Andrej Gaspari

  • Release : 2015-09-01
  • ISBN : 961254798X
  • Pages : 155 pages

Download or read book Smlednik Castle written by Andrej Gaspari and published by Založba ZRC. This book was released on 2015-09-01 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern science started studying the Smlednik Castle over a century and a half ago. However, what might be even more important is the fact that more or less intense conservation works have been carried out at this location for over half a century. Regardless of this there is almost no expert literature on the castle to be found: short papers can be counted on the fingers of one hand, while monograph publications are sought in vain. The situation regarding contributions that promotes cultural heritage is somewhat better. The purpose of the book in front of you is thus clear: to present the history of the research and conservation efforts as well as the findings gained from the latest research in one book. This is the English translation of the original publication in Slovenian Grad Smlednik. Raziskave 2011-2012 published in 2013 as the second issue of the series Monografije CPA. The translation differs from the original in two ways. First, it omits the appendices. Secondly, a chapter on 3D scanning of the Smlednik Castle in 2007 including interactive 3D model is added.
