Download or read book Everyone Can Cook written by Scott R. Taylor and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-09 with total page 606 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hello my name is Scott R. Taylor. For many years I have wanted a cook book that not only gives me recipes but shows and tells me the things I need to know to make food items I could be proud to serve. So I decided to make my own. One of the things I love in life is to eat good food. When I’m growing up, mom and dad’s along with grandmas cooking was always the world’s best and in my mind nobody could top them. I was born in the early 1950’s in a middle class family on the south side of Chicago. Father was from Tennessee and Mother from Ohio. So that gave me my fi rst look at fusion cooking as I knew it. By the time I hit my early teens, I learned I could not eat out every meal, so I desired to learn to cook. My passion for food grew into a 45 year career. By trial and error, cooking with other chefs, learning from friends and trying many types of cooking jobs, I have learned something new. As many of us do many things in our life, my time in the Navy, working in diners, fi ne food, major hotels, off shore oil rigs and even retirement homes have taught me every aspect of food. I could not afford to go to culinary school so I learned by doing. Read a cook book, taste the spices, ask friends, but if you like to cook and eat - GET UP AND DO IT. Living in Las Vegas to me is the best. World class food and chefs, food from around the world. This is good life for me. I hope you enjoy this book and that it answers what or want to know about cooking. Please enjoy cooking, eating and life the way that I have.

Download or read book The Spirit of the Tarot written by Claudine Aegerter and published by Aeon Books. This book was released on 2009-12-31 with total page 544 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a new exploration of the Tarot, which reveals the esoteric numerological links underlying this ancient system and connects the teaching of the Tarot to the initiatic journey of the Soul. If you are aspiring to connect with the mysteries of our life on this planet or you are already a disciple in some school of spiritual attainment, this is a book which will illuminate your way. As we explore beyond those physical emotional and mental aspects that we call the personality, we find another energy that is not so easy to define and which seems to move us at a deeper level; this is the Soul. When we are receptive to the Soul's mystery we can start to connect to the universal collective energy of the Spirit. The different stages in the fusion of personality and Soul and the unknown, unseen alchemy of transmutation from matter to Spirit are illustrated by the twenty-two cards of the Major Arcana. The symbols are explained and the deeper esoteric meaning of each card is explored with the help of number. This provides practical steps that can be applied to the everyday lives of those who seek greater consciousness. Claudine Aegerter started Transcendental Meditation in 1970, then joined the National Federation of Spiritual Healers, where she realised her abilities to channel. She then started teaching and giving workshops in esoteric subjects. As a leader in her field, a counsellor and a healer, she founded the Connaissance School of Numerology in 1993, bringing unique insights into the initiation of consciousness to many around the world. Berenice Benjelloun has worked as a professional artist, Homeopath, workshop leader and Numerologist. The inspiration and underlying energy behind all her occupations has always been the promotion of the expanding consciousness of mankind. She teaches at The Connaissance School of Numerology and is Vice chair of the Association Internationale de Numerologues.
Download or read book Resolving Social Dilemmas written by Margaret Foddy and published by Psychology Press. This book was released on 2013-05-13 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an accessible and state-of-the-art survey of current research on social dilemmas. A social dilemma arises when actions that are justifiable in terms of individual rationality (e.g. over-harvesting resources, or using private instead of public transportation) threaten the common good and in the long run the individual's own self-interest as well. The study of social dilemmas has important links with many areas in psychology, as well as with cognate disciplines such as risk analysis, environmental science, political science, and economics. Accordingly, the book should appeal not only to psychologists but also to a wider audience of scholars and researchers. Contributors include both established authorities and recent innovators, and the organization and contents of the book reflect the most recent trends in this exciting area. Increased attention is given to modeling dynamics and processes in social dilemmas, and greater emphasis placed on exploring structural solutions to dilemmas. New findings and theoretical developments regarding group and inter-group processes are highlighted and a move is made away from a heavy reliance on laboratory experiments and game theory to field studies and real-world applications. A scholarly prospective chapter at the beginning and an integrative concluding chapter provide useful overviews of the area and the contributions to the book.
