Book Flow Visualization

Download or read book Flow Visualization written by Alexander J. Smits and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2012 with total page 442 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the 2nd edition of the book, Flow Visualization: Techniques and Examples, which was published by Imperial College Press in 2000. Many of the chapters have been revised and updated to take into consideration recent changes in a number of flow visualization and measurement techniques, including an updated high quality flow gallery. Unique among similar publications, this book focuses on the practical rather than theoretical aspects. Obtaining high quality flow visualization results is, in many ways, more of an art than a science, and experience plays a key deciding role. The depth and breadth of the material will make this book invaluable to readers of all levels of experience in the field.

Book Handbook Of Flow Visualization

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With contributions from some of the world's leading experts, the second edition of this classic reference compiles all major techniques of flow visualization and demonstrates their applications in all fields of science and technology. A new chapter has been added that covers flow visualization applications in large wide tunnels for airplane and automobile testing. Several important examples of applications are included. A second new chapter details the use of infrared (IR) cameras for detecting and observing the boundary layer transition in industrial wind tunnels and flight testing of commercial transport airplanes. A final new chapter has been added on multiphase flow and pulsed-light velocimetry.

Book Flow Visualization

Download or read book Flow Visualization written by Wolgang Merzkirch and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 271 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Flow Visualization, Second Edition focuses on developments, applications, and results in the field of flow visualization. Organized into four chapters, this book begins with the principles of flow visualization and image processing. Subsequent chapters describe the methods of flow visualization, particularly the addition of foreign material to the flowing fluid that might be gaseous or liquid; certain optical methods that are sensitive to changes of the index of refraction; and flow field marking by heat and energy addition.

Book Focus on Scientific Visualization

Download or read book Focus on Scientific Visualization written by Hans Hagen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the important issues of Scientific Visualization is the utilization of the broad bandwidth of the human sensory system in steering and interpreting complex processes and simulations involving voluminous data sets across diverse scientific disciplines. This book presents the state-of-the-art in visualization techniques both as an overview for the inquiring scientist, and as a solid platform from which developers may extend existing techniques or devise new ones to meet the specific needs of their problems. A secondary goal in crafting this volume has been to provide a vehicle for teaching of state-of-the-art techniques in scientific visualization. The first part of the book covers the application areas fluid flow visualization in medicine, and environmental protection. The second set of chapters explain fundamentals of scientific visualization. It comprises contributions on data structuring and data administration, data modeling, and rendering. A final section is devoted to auditory representation of scientific data.

Book Three Dimensional Flow Visualization Using Laser Sheet Scanning

Download or read book Three Dimensional Flow Visualization Using Laser Sheet Scanning written by D. M. Nosenchuck and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 14 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been demonstrated that the conventional technique of fixed-laser-sheet flow visualization can be extended to include three-dimensional visualization by means of a scanning laser sheet. This system was implemented using a rotating mirror in conjunction with appropriate fixed optics. A space-filling three-dimensional data base was digitally obtained from the imaging and recording units, and was processed to yield a variety of three dimensional views of the flow field in addition to obtaining quantitative results regarding mixing levels and velocities. Laser-sheet scanning was first applied in a study of boundary-layer turbulence in which active control was implemented. The flow visualization readily indicated the near-wall instabilities present in turbulent spots and synthetic turbulent boundary-layers. When control was attempted using an array of surface heating elements, the visualization technique graphically illustrated the attenuation of the near-wall sublayer 'streaks' and resultant quiescent outer flow.

Book Flow visualization of Three dimensional Boundary layer Separation on Bodies of Revolution at Incidence

Download or read book Flow visualization of Three dimensional Boundary layer Separation on Bodies of Revolution at Incidence written by Taeyoung Han and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Surface streamline patterns on three bodies of revolution, namely a spheroid, a low-drag body and a hemisphere-hemispheroid combination body, have been examined at several angles of attack. Most of the tests were performed at low Reynolds numbers in a hydraulic flume using colored dye to make the surface flow visible. A limited number of experiments was also carried out in a wind tunnel, using wool tufts, to study the influence of Reynolds number and turbulent separation. The study has verified some of the important qualitative features of three-dimensional separation criteria proposed earlier by Maskell, Lighthill, Wang and others. The observed locations of laminar separation lines on a spheroid at various incidences have been compared with the numerical boundary-layer solutions of Wang, and it is suggested that the quantitative differences may be attributed to the significant viscous-inviscid interaction, especially at large incidences. Book Visualization Techniques for Three dimensional Flow Fields

Download or read book Visualization Techniques for Three dimensional Flow Fields written by Henry J. Neeman and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: "Flow fields in three-dimensional spaces, used in many scientific applications, are best understood by graphical visualization. Techniques for visualizing such fields are discussed. Two of them, particle advection and flow ribbons, are implemented, and example results are given. Also discussed are scientific data sets, data geometries, techniques for visualizing fields in one- and two-dimensional spaces and scalar fields in three-dimensional spaces."
