Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The final volume in A. H. Almaas' masterwork on the contemporary spiritual path known as the Diamond Approach From one perspective, we can see ourselves merely as human beings struggling in a crowded and chaotic world of suffering. Inexhaustible Mystery opens our eyes to a different reality, one that turns our familiar world inside out. We need only explore—with curiosity and love—our true potential as human beings in order to discover infinite depth and creativity in our lives as we act and interact in the world. When time and space expand their meaning, we come to know ourselves as having infinite dimensions of being and qualities of spirit, and uncover new mysteries about ourselves, one another, and the reality we live in. This is the last of the five-volume Diamond Heart series of transcribed and edited talks given by A. H. Almaas to inner-work groups in California and Colorado.

Download or read book God and the Self in Hegel written by Paolo Diego Bubbio and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2017-06-29 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God and the Self in Hegel proposes a reconstruction of Hegel's conception of God and analyzes the significance of this reading for Hegel's idealistic metaphysics. Paolo Diego Bubbio argues that in Hegel's view, subjectivism—the tenet that there is no underlying "true" reality that exists independently of the activity of the cognitive agent—can be avoided, and content can be restored to religion, only to the extent that God is understood in God's relation to human beings, and human beings are understood in their relation to God. Focusing on traditional problems in theology and the philosophy of religion, such as the ontological argument for the existence of God, the Trinity, and the "death of God," Bubbio shows the relevance of Hegel's view of religion and God for his broader philosophical strategy. In this account, as a response to the fundamental Kantian challenge of how to conceive the mind-world relation without setting mind over and against the world, Hegel has found a way of overcoming subjectivism in both philosophy and religion.

Download or read book Social Ontology of Whoness written by Michael Eldred and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2018-10-26 with total page 710 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How are core social phenomena to be understood as modes of being? This book offers an alternative approach to social ontology. Recent interest in social ontology on the part of mainstream philosophy and the social sciences presupposes from the outset that the human being can be cast as a conscious subject whose intentionality can be collective. By contrast, the present study insistently poses the crucial question of who the human being is and how they sociate as whos. Such whoness is a clean-cut departure from the venerable tradition of questioning whatness (quidditas, essence) in philosophical thinking. Casting human being hermeneutically as whoness opens up new insights into how human beings sociate in interplays of mutual estimation that are simultaneously social power plays. Hitherto, the ontology of social power in all its various guises, has only ever been implicit. This book makes it explicit. The kind of social power prevalent in capitalist societies is that of the reified value embodied in commodities, money, capital, & co. Reified value itself is constituted through an interplay of mutual estimation among things that reflects back on the power interplay among whos. In this way a new critique of capitalism becomes possible.

Download or read book Thinking in the World written by Jill Bennett and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2019-12-26 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Engaging with contemporary issues responsibly and creatively can become a very abstract activity. We can sometimes find ourselves talking in terms of theories and philosophies which bear very little resemblance to how life is actually lived and experienced. In Thinking in the World, Jill Bennett and Mary Zournazi curate writings and conversations with some of the most influential thinkers in the world and ask them not just why we should engage with the world ,but also how we might do this. Rather than simply thinking about the world, the authors examine the ways in which we think in and with the world. Whether it's how to be environmentally responsible, how to think in film, or how to dance with a non-human, the need to engage meaningfully in a lived way is at the forefront of this collection. Thinking in the World showcases some of the most compelling arguments for a philosophy in action. Including wholly original, never-before-released material from Michel Serres, Alphonso Lingis, and Mieke Bal, the different chapters in this book constitute dialogues and approachable essays, as well as impassioned arguments for a particular way of approaching thinking in the world.
Download or read book Thinking And Destiny written by Harold W. Percival and published by Motilal Banarsidass Publ.. This book was released on 2002-04 with total page 1058 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Thinking and Destiny, something new, although older than time, is now made known to the world--about Consciousness. The information is largely about the makeup of the human, where man comes from, what becomes of him; it explains what thinking is; it tells how a thought is created, and how thoughts are exteriorized into acts, objects and events, and how they make his destiny. Destiny is thus shown to be self-determined by thinking; and the process of re-existence and the after-death states are told in detail. A single reading of any one chapter of Thinking and Destiny brings rich rewards in new understanding of life`s puzzling mysteries. To read the entire book is to come nearer to knowledge of one`s destiny and how to shape it than is possible through study of anything previously written in the English language. Both the casually curious glancer at books and the most avid seeker for knowledge will be intrigued by the index, which lists more than 400 subjects in Thinking and Destiny, and by the fifteen chapter headings in the Table of Contents, which identify the 156 sections. The Foreword contains the only pages in which Mr. Percival uses the first personal pronoun. Here he relates some of the amazing experiences through which he was able to grasp the knowledge he transmits, and to acquire the ability to do so.

Download or read book Truth and Interpretation written by Silvia Benso and published by SUNY Press. This book was released on 2013-08-01 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A resolute defense of philosophy and hermeneutics against the threats of dogmatism and relativism. Luigi Pareyson (19181991) was one of the most important Italian philosophers to emerge after World War II and stands shoulder to shoulder with fellow hermeneutic thinkers Hans-Georg Gadamer and Paul Ricoeur. The product of a well-developed theory of interpretation that stretches back to the late 1940s, his 1971 masterpiece Truth and Interpretation provides the historical impetus and theoretical framework for the questions of existence, art, and politics that would motivate his most famous students, Umberto Eco and Gianni Vattimo. In a time when the meaning of truth as an interpretation is challenged by the chaotic din of media on the one side and the violent force of absolute claims from science, religion, and political economy on the other, Pareysons meditation on the value of thinking that is shaped by the traditions of philosophy and yet responds to contemporary demands remains timely and pressing more than forty years after its initial publication.

Download or read book World Transformation written by Jawara D. King D. D. and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2006-10-24 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Human unconsciousness, which is identification with thought activity, human emotions, and the thinking mind, is the only source of ALL the evil on planet Earth. All evil is the result of humanity living in darkness, not knowing who they are in their essence, beyond their earthly names and physical forms, which causesthem to identify with the world of materiality. The only solution to the darkness of humanity is the light of consciousness, which is disidentification from egoic mind structures, going with the flow of life instead of fighting against it, acceptance of what is, and surrendered action. As we continue to transform individually, the entire world is transformed, because in essence, we are all ONE. Each ONE affects the whole, causing World Transformation through the concept of ONENESS by way of the ONE spiritual energetic force that moves through ALL beings. All organized religions were created by men to condition the masses to think in a certain way, or to point beyond religious belief structures to the Infinite, the formless consciousness we call God. Accepting organized religion as the absolute truth instead of relative truth is the foundation for division and the destruction of the planet. Without the transformation of human consciousness, humans will destroy themselves, each other, and the planet, and are already doing so. If humanity continues to blindly believe the media, organized religion, and all the conditioning tools of the powerful ruling Elite who run the world, without doing their own research, they will be destroyed through lack of knowledge. World Transformation: A Guide To Personal Growth And Consciousness is a transformative book that discusses over 110 life-changing topics to help spiritual seekers in their journeys in consciousness. Learn to be the awareness that is aware of and doesn't become all that you observe. World Transformation begins one person at a time. As you change, the whole world changes, because you are a part of the ONE Consciousness. Gandhi said, "be the change you want to see in the world." As you follow his advice, you become a positive force in the world. "One of the most important books of this generation!" "One of the most profound spiritual books ever written!!" Humanity will destroy themselves if they continue to blindly believe and follow the media, politicians, and organized religion, which are all used by the ruling Elite to control the masses. Most humans don't know what's going on because they allow entertainment, the media, and other brainwashing tools to control their thinking. Mark Twain said, "in religion and politics, people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue, but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions aboutthem were not worth a brass farthing." Social, religious, and other forms of conditioning control the minds of humanity and will destroy them if they continue to accept ideals without analyzation. It is a fact that none of the major religious figures of organized religionactually existed. Their historicity is an unverifiable opinion. Daniel Patrick Moyniham said, "everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts." The existence of all the Saviour Gods are questionable. Humanity only believes in them because of religious conditioning. Humanity as a whole has lost their identity in the world of materiality, also known as the world of form, or the world of things. To identify with something means to mistake a person, place, or thing for who you are, the I AM before I AM a (teacher, lawyer, doctor, student, etc.) Humans have confused millions of forms for their identity. Your invisible indestructible eternal divine essence is consciousness. Common false identities humans mistake for who they are in essence are their jobs, cars, degrees, attractive spouse, belief systems, relationships, knowledge, physical appearance, education, clothes, jewelry, family history, brand names, social status, special ability, thoughts, residence, awards and achievements, race, religious or political affiliations, sports, music, and MILLIONS of other things in the external world.
