Book The Heretic s Guide to Thelema Volume 2 3

Download or read book The Heretic s Guide to Thelema Volume 2 3 written by Gerald Del Campo and published by Concrescent Press. This book was released on 2012-07-01 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Heretic's Guide to Thelema Volume 2 & 3 This is volume 2 and 3 of a new edition of a now classic work from a long-time practitioner of Thelema. It is a expression of his experience in a variety of forms of Thelema and a number of Thelemic institutions. Some will object, and thelemically, they are welcome to do so. But the Magi have always learned from Nature and so we must note that although Nature abhors a vacuum, She hates monocultures: She always and only destroys them. Variety and diversity only will strengthen the current of Thelema. As it is said: Success is your proof. Volume 2: New Aeon English Qaballa first appeared in 2000 and since then it has opened up the way to serious research into the mysteries of The Book of the Law by suggesting a non-Crowleyan solution to one of the most profound mysteries in one of the most profound books of our age. Volume 3: The Ethics of Thelema, was also penned in 2000 out of the author's desire to share his ethical values as a Thelemite, not with dogma or orthodoxy but how Thelema is working through him as a Thelemite, in the hope that Thelema might be able to explain not only what was wrong with our values, but what values we should consider to prevent looming catastrophe. ----------------- Who Is Gerald Del Campo? Gerald Enrique del Campo is a poet, musician, songwriter, photographer, magician, philosopher, author, and lecturer on occult and religious topics. He was a member of the O.T.O. for 20 years and served as Master of RPSTOVAL Oaisis and as the Order's Quartermaster. He was also a member of the College of Thelema, Fraternitas Lux Occulta, and The Hermetic Order of QBLH, and was a founding member of the Temple of Thelema. In 1999 he founded the The Order of Thelemic Knights, a Thelemic charitable organization based on the virtues soldiering and chivalry as exemplified by Templarism. Besides New Aeon Magick, Del Campo also wrote New Aeon English Qabalah Revealed and the Ethics of Thelema, forthcoming as separate volumes by Concrescent Press as part of The Heretic's Guide to Thelema collection.

Book The Magick of Aleister Crowley

Download or read book The Magick of Aleister Crowley written by Lon Milo Duquette and published by Weiser Books. This book was released on 2003-11-01 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aleister Crowley's ascension into the pantheon of alternative gurus was cemented by his appearance on The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover. Unfortunately, he was known more for his reputation as "The Beast 666" and "The Wickedest Man in the World." All well and good for publicity, but this infamy eclipsed his teachings, as did his technical and opaque writing style, meant more for adepts contemporary to him than the average modern reader. Enter Lon Milo DuQuette to decipher and explain Crowley's texts and more important rituals. Formerly titled The Magick of Thelema, this revised edition features extensive corrections, a new introduction, and a new ritual, "The Rites of Eleusis." This is the perfect introductory text for readers who wonder what the works--rather than the myth--of Aleister Crowley are all about. DuQuette takes the mystery out of both the rituals themselves and Crowley's writing in this modern grimoire. Step by step, he presents a course of study in plain English, with examples of rituals and explanations of their significance. DuQuette also includes a course of study for Crowley's original works with an extensive bibliography and fastidious footnotes.

Book Rites of the Mummy

Download or read book Rites of the Mummy written by Jeffrey D. Evans and published by Nicolas-Hays, Inc.. This book was released on 2021-11-15 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An arcane ritual reveals a code hidden within Thelema’s most holy book. Over a period of several years, the former head of Kenneth Grant’s Typhonian Order in the United States, conducted a bizarre sexual ritual with elements of Thelema, Lovecraft, and the Egyptian mummification ceremony to unlock a mathematical code buried in plain sight in Aleister Crowley’s Book of the Law. Jeffrey Evans, a follower of Aleister Crowley’s Thelema since his teenage years, had an encounter on a bridge in Washington, DC, with a being he identified as his holy guardian angel. This being—Karla—provided him with the inspiration to begin a series of rituals incorporating Egyptian and Lovecraftian elements in an effort to traverse the Tunnels of Set: pathways on the “dark side” of the Qabalistic Tree of Life. The ritual, conducted with his wife, Ruth Keenan, employed cross-dressing and bondage as well as Cthulhian imagery and chanting, and resulted in a series of revelations concerning the mathematical code hidden within the verses of Crowley’s Book of the Law: a circumstance that Crowley always suspected but was never able to prove, not even with the help of accomplished mathematicians. Evans tried in vain to demonstrate this code to other members of the Typhonian Order, to no avail, but a chance meeting online with Peter Levenda resulted in Levenda’s taking a closer look at the data and what he discovered astounded him. He agreed to help bring this discovery to the attention of the general public. There has been very little new work published in the field of Thelema in the last 10 years or so, at least since the death of Kenneth Grant. Most publishing concerning Crowley has been biographical or reissues of Crowley’s own material. This work is a departure from all of that. It is new material, completely unexpected within the Crowley/Thelema/OTO environment, for it offers a new approach to the mathematical nature of Thelema that so far has been based on Qabalah. This work brings attention to the existence of a sacred geometry within the verses of the Book of the Law: a completely unexpected discovery but nonetheless mathematically verifiable. It bridges the gap between Thelema, Freemasonry, and Templarism, as well as Gnosticism, demonstrating a continuum of esoteric thought spanning millennia.

Book Baphomet Revealed

    Book Details:
  • Author : Heather Lynn
  • Publisher : Red Wheel/Weiser
  • Release : 2024-10-07
  • ISBN : 1637480199
  • Pages : 194 pages

Download or read book Baphomet Revealed written by Heather Lynn and published by Red Wheel/Weiser. This book was released on 2024-10-07 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is Baphomet? This comprehensive and accessible history sets the record straight on this captivating icon of the occult. Baphomet, often misunderstood and cloaked in misinterpretations, has left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness, standing at the crossroads of the occult, religion, and the quest for arcane knowledge. This provocative entity, existing simultaneously as myth, magick, and symbol, demands an exploration not bound by the confines of a single discipline or perspective. Baphomet Revealed sets out to undertake this multifaceted exploration. Over the years, Baphomet has been called a demon, deity, and the devil himself, but Baphomet is none of these. Baphomet's origins are as elusive as its symbolic form, yet we begin our inquiry with the Templars, where the name Baphomet was perhaps first uttered or misunderstood as a distortion of the name of the prophet Muhammad. We trace Baphomet's course through history, their intersections with Gnostic thought, Freemasonry, the teachings of Aleister Crowley, and the myriad occult groups that have drawn upon their potent symbolism. While Baphomet has often been misconstrued as a demonic figure, the figure is, in reality, a symbol--a complex cipher holding within its form the keys to profound philosophical and esoteric truths. Baphomet Revealed will take readers on a journey that weaves together the threads of history, symbolism, and esoteric philosophy, unraveling the tapestry of Baphomet's enduring mystique. Such a journey would be incomplete without acknowledging the essential contribution of Eliphas Lévi, whose conceptualization of Baphomet has profoundly shaped our modern image of this occult icon. Lévi's Baphomet, far removed from demonic caricature, emerges as an emblem of equilibrium--a harmony of opposing forces and a mirror to the universe's inherent dualism and an icon of equity and gender equality. References will be drawn extensively from primary sources. The inclusion of historical depictions and magical seals associated with Baphomet will provide a visual companion to the text, inviting readers to engage with the symbol directly. By melding rigorous academic inquiry with a spirit of open-minded exploration, Baphomet aims to shed new light on this shadowy figure, illuminating Baphomet's proper place in the annals of human thought and spiritual endeavor.

Book excerpt: "This book is the first documentary study of Thelema, a 20th Century new religious movement in the magical family, founded by the occultist and prophet of a new age of personal freedom, Aleister Crowley (1875-1947). The history of the Thelema movement is recounted through the biography of its leader, Wilfred Talbot Smith (1885-1957), who was an early convert to Crowley's revealed religion, a unique brand of apocalyptic esotericism. Smith established Crowley's occult orders primarily the Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO) in British Columbia and in California. Crowley provided the concepts; Smith and his associates made them take flesh, applying Crowley's doctrine of "Do what thou wilt" and the sex magic teachings of the OTO, cementing them as an essential part of the esoteric religious underground of the 20th century. This study provides a contextual overview of the elements of Crowley's novel bricolage, which includes Freemasonry, Theosophy, Rosicrucianism, Neo-Gnosticism and other related forms of Western Esotericism, demonstrating the considerable overlap between apparently disparate ideologies, groups, and participants. The book reconstructs Smith's social network, which included Cal Tech rocket scientist Jack Parsons, the Rosicrucian leader H. Spencer Lewis, the Hollywood film star John Carradine and gay liberationist Harry Hay"--

Book Perdurabo Revised and Expanded Edition

Download or read book Perdurabo Revised and Expanded Edition written by Richard Kaczynski and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2012-04-10 with total page 724 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A rigorously researched biography of the founder of modern magick, as well as a study of the occult, sexuality, Eastern religion, and more The name “Aleister Crowley” instantly conjures visions of diabolic ceremonies and orgiastic indulgences—and while the sardonic Crowley would perhaps be the last to challenge such a view, he was also much more than “the Beast,” as this authoritative biography shows. Perdurabo—entitled after the magical name Crowley chose when inducted into the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn—traces Crowley’s remarkable journey from his birth as the only son of a wealthy lay preacher to his death in a boarding house as the world’s foremost authority on magick. Along the way, he rebels against his conservative religious upbringing; befriends famous artists, writers, and philosophers (and becomes a poet himself); is attacked for his practice of “the black arts”; and teaches that science and magick can work together. While seeking to spread his infamous philosophy of, “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law,” Crowley becomes one of the most notorious figures of his day. Based on Richard Kaczynski’s twenty years of research, and including previously unpublished biographical details, Perdurabo paints a memorable portrait of the man who inspired the counterculture and influenced generations of artists, punks, wiccans, and other denizens of the demimonde.
