Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The motivational journey of a poet among his walking words, a tale written in prose with many poems and inspirational quotes. 'Wandering among the stars' tells the love story between the protagonist and life. A story where poetry and prose are intertwined like soul and body, to bring this love story to life so the reader can live it. So it's not about a collection of poems, least of all a story in verse. Maybe it could be described as a book of 'narrated poems' or as a 'literary musical'; actually it represents a narrative experiment that lies somewhere between a meta-novel, a collection of poems and an essay; its main aim is to encourage those readers that usually prefer to read only prose works to read poetry as well. (Do you want to try?) As a poetry anthology it includes chapters about love, the cosmos, death, spirituality and poetry itself. Italian edition of this book has been a hit and has remained for more than twelve consecutive months among the bestsellers of its category in the Italian Kindle Store. ( http://smarturl.it/stelle ) - 'Wonderful book! Wirton Arvel is the new Gibran' Mark J. - 'Poetry is the sound track of our soul; this book tells why' Josh Russell - 'It's like a never ending story singing the song of universe to our soul' Liz Baum - 'Very inspirational biography, for all 'active dreamers' and life lovers' Brandon Dyer - 'This book is like nothing I have ever read before' David H. Birley - 'Reading the book, you become a part of something bigger than yourself' Uvi Poznansky - 'An interesting sensory experience" Dennis Waller - 'Simply beautiful. A treasure for anyone who loves poems' Ionia Martin - 'A book for lovers of words' Scarlett Jensen - ''Impudent stillness' (one of the poems) is a jewel of combination of words and ideas' Jean Pailler - 'This book cannot be summarized - that would tarnish its beauty of wholeness' Grady Harp Grab the free Kindle preview ("send sample" button) and give it a try! Book Wandering In Literature a Mere Word

Download or read book Wandering In Literature a Mere Word written by Julian Scutts and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-02-15 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book does not find its starting point in a theory but in the recognition that the word "Wanderer," and other forms based on the common root of the verbs to "wander" and "wandern," recur with conspicuous frequency in the writings of Goethe and English Romantic poets such as William Wordsworth and Lord Byron. A notable scholar, Professor L. A. Willoughby sought an explanation for this phenomnon in Carl G. Jung's theory of the unconscious but Willoughby's sole ambit of reference was what he termed "Goethe's poetry." This restriction could not allow the scope necessary for the study of the collective aspect of the mind's power and influence. This study poses the attempt to widen the survey of "wandering" to a comparison of texts found in a wide variety of authors including Milton, Shakespeare and William Blake.

Book excerpt: You meant more than life to me. I lived through you not knowing, not knowing I was living. I learned that you called for me. I came to where you were living, up a stair. There was no one there. No one to appreciate me. The legality of it upset a chair. Many times to celebrate we were called together and where we had been there was nothing there, nothing that is anywhere. We passed obliquely, leaving no stare. When the sun was done muttering, in an optimistic way, it was time to leave that there. -- from "The New Higher"

Download or read book Wandering Stars written by Keith Gibson and published by . This book was released on 2011-12 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "It is a serious thing to claim to speak for God. So serious, in fact, that a prophet who claimed to speak for God and whose words did not come to pass was to be put to death according to the Old Testament. God takes both His Name and His word so seriously that He gave some of the harshest rebukes in all the Old Testament to those who were claiming to bring revelation from Him that He had not sent. One final note. There is always the temptation when dealing with a subject of this nature, to pull out the most outlandish quotes in an attempt to make one's point more forcefully. Though it is certain that some will feel that this is exactly what has been done, I have attempted to resist this temptation. While an extreme example has occasionally been used in order to demonstrate how heretical the movement is at its fringes, for the most part, I have attempted to use quotes from those considered more 'mainstream' within the apostolic and prophetic movement. It is my desire to demonstrate that the issues addressed in this book are rampant within the community and not isolated in one or two marginal teachers. It is my sincere prayer that this book will be used in some small measure to awaken the church to the seriousness of the errors being propagated within the apostolic/prophetic movement and to call the church back to the truth." - Keith Gibson

Book The Wandering Mind

  • Publisher : University of Chicago Press
  • Release : 2015-04-15
  • ISBN : 022623861X

Download or read book The Wandering Mind written by Michael C. Corballis and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 2015-04-15 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Corballis argues that mind-wandering has many constructive and adaptive features. These range from mental time travel?the wandering back and forth through time, not only to plan our futures based on past experience, but also to generate a continuous sense of who we are--to the ability to inhabit the minds of others, increasing empathy and social understanding. Through mind-wandering, we invent, tell stories, and expand our mental horizons. Mind wandering , hardly the sign of a faulty network or aimless distraction, actually underwrites creativity, whether as a Wordsworth wandering lonely as a cloud, or an Einstein imagining himself travelling on a beam of light. Corballis takes readers on a mental journey in chapters that can be savored piecemeal, as the minds of readers wander in different ways, and sometimes have limited attentional capacity.

Book Education of a Wandering Man

Download or read book Education of a Wandering Man written by Louis L'Amour and published by Bantam. This book was released on 2008-04-29 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From his decision to leave school at fifteen to roam the world, to his recollections of life as a hobo on the Southern Pacific Railroad, as a cattle skinner in Texas, as a merchant seaman in Singapore and the West Indies, and as an itinerant bare-knuckled prizefighter across small-town America, here is Louis L'Amour's memoir of his lifelong love affair with learning—from books, from yondering, and from some remarkable men and women—that shaped him as a storyteller and as a man. Like classic L'Amour fiction, Education of a Wandering Man mixes authentic frontier drama--such as the author's desperate efforts to survive a sudden two-day trek across the blazing Mojave desert--with true-life characters like Shanghai waterfront toughs, desert prospectors, and cowboys whom Louis L'Amour met while traveling the globe. At last, in his own words, this is a story of a one-of-a-kind life lived to the fullest . . . a life that inspired the books that will forever enable us to relive our glorious frontier heritage.
