Lady Helen Wade is not interested in living the proper life of a proper young lady. She prefers to slip away to her own place in the woods, where she can wear comfortable clothes and let her hair down and go barefoot while she dreams and paints and communes with nature. There she meets the rich and handsome William Mainwaring, newly arrived owner of the property upon which the woods stand. William, nursing a broken heart, is enchanted by the simple country girl whom he knows only as Nell, and returns a number of times in the hope of seeing her again. A brief, passionate affair ensues before guilt sends William abruptly away so that he can avoid further temptation to ruin her. When they meet again, Helen and William are both in London, and he knows her for who she is. How can he persuade her that he is not the heartless cad she believes him to be when he knows he behaved badly? And how can he persuade her that he loves both Nell and Helen—and that somehow he is worthy of her love?

In Wood Nymph Seeks Centaur, Francesca Lia Block provides a guide to this often-treacherous terrain, classifying all those mystifying men and women into various types of mythical forest fauna-Fauns and Werewolves, Mermaids and Banshees. After answering questions to determine your own type, you can learn to identify others-with the help of illustrations from artist Fumi Nakamura. By reading up on the various types' favorite activities, likely professions, sexual preferences, and parenting styles, you'll gain insight into compatible creatures. If you're a Wood Nymph (like Block), you could get your heart broken by a fickle Satyr, but if you can track down the strong, soulful Centaurs of the forest, you just might be on the path to true love. Clever and insightful, Wood Nymph Seeks Centaur is an invaluable guide for any dating creature.

Book Memoirs of an Aging Wood Nymph

Download or read book Memoirs of an Aging Wood Nymph written by Carolyn Hawley and published by . This book was released on 2007-06 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Having experienced the Berkeley "revolution" of the '60s, Carolyn Hawley, a young, tenured college music instructor, fled with her two young children to the remote wilderness of northern California. There, without a "male-head-of-house" they lived as modern day pioneers, building a home, and surviving the elements. It details relationships between human and animal lives, including many nature experiences. There are "how-to" tips regarding developing virgin land, and various adventures along the way. There are contrasts of opposites of all kinds, including balancing the cultured intellectual life as a concert artist with that of an adventurer/farmer. Among the contrasts is that of the "hippie"-"redneck" cultures, both prevalent in the back hills of the "emerald triangle" and the drug culture. When isolated from the rest of the world of man for long periods, one senses a different reality; one in which the illusions of romantic love, fame and riches are all dispelled by the intrusion of truth, beauty, and love, seen and felt while living in the bosom of mother nature. Then in the chapter "Return of the Aging Woodnymph", the book depicts a similar adventure in the wilderness, but as experienced 30 years later, with the added wisdom (and short comings) of age. The contrast between the two adventures fades, and becomes Zen-like, showing that though everything changes, everything also stays essentially the same. What is gained, and what is lost is unimportant. Being alive, and living to the fullest becomes the ultimate goal of life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Using her magic, Melanie of the Dryad family weaved a spell around the man who wandered into her forest. Wanting to play her wood nymph games, she was devastated when the man turned her down. Unable to understand why he dreamed of a naked woman in the woods during a photo shoot, Jared found an even bigger surprise after developing the pictures he'd taken at the waterfall. Who was the nude beauty sunbathing behind the rocks? Why did he feel like he knew her? Excerpt: His hair was the color of the bark on a cedar tree, mostly brown, but when he stepped out into the sun, reddish highlights shone in the light. Strong cheekbones set off the prominent chin and gave a royal lift to his rugged good looks. Oh, Oak, he makes my pussy wet. Her gaze dropped from his magnificent face to the front of his pants. She caught her lower lip between her teeth; her nipples hardened. Even without a woody, his pants showed the outline of a nice-sized package. One she'd love nothing more than to open and play with for hours. The temptation to use him for her own pleasure proved too much for her to resist. She moved behind him, slipped the thick strap from his camera over his head, and gently took the toy out of his hands. After stepping back, she placed the camera on one of the many rocks at the edge of the water, out of harm's way. The man panicked and turned to search for his equipment. His brows cast down in a frown. Although she remained invisible to him, she allowed her tinkling laughter to reach his ears. Her trick transformed his expression from shocked to curious and sent more amused laughter bubbling to her lips. I have your attention now, don't I? He tilted his head to the side, obviously straining to pinpoint the location of the sound. Wanting to start the fun and games only a wood nymph could play, she evolved fully for his viewing pleasure. This part always sent scrumptious quivers throughout her body and into every erogenous zone. "Shit." He rubbed his forehead. "Who the hell . . . ?" She stood before him completely nude except for her hair that reached the back of her knees and the garland of daisies sitting atop her golden locks. Cupping her breasts, she lifted them higher to tease him. Blessed by bigger breasts than most nymphs, she lowered her head and flicked her tongue over the beaded nipple. The proof of her enticement showed up in the front of his pants where a ridge developed to the side of his zipper. Oh, yes! She laughed and dropped her hands to her hips. "My name is Melanie; what should I call you?" He cleared his throat. His gaze never left the apex of her thighs. "J-Jared." She stepped in front of him, close enough to reach out and touch him, but she kept her hands to herself and circled him instead. His head moved back and forth as he attempted to keep track of her. No doubt, he feared she'd disappear. That's it, my human, let my magic bring us both pleasure out of this world. "Do you like my body, Jared?" She stopped walking in a circle and lifted her chin to gaze into his sinfully sexy brown eyes. "Would you like to play with me? Touch me? Pleasure me?" "What are you?" He rubbed his lips together. "Where did you come from?" "I am a wood nymph, and I come from the forest." She laughed and trailed her hand across his chest, enjoying the way his nipples stood out in hard little beads. "I have ways of doing things that will feel very good to a man like you. So big, strong and deliciously handsome; I think what we do together will please us both."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here we are in Paris, where we will visit the exhibition. On the square next to our hotel, we are planting a tree that will shelter a dryad. This dryad, when its tree lived in the forest, could only think of Paris, the city that lit up the clouds at night. With the arrival of the chestnut tree in Paris, its greatest dream came true. But will this dream lead to its downfall? Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875) was a Danish author, poet and artist. Celebrated for children’s literature, his most cherished fairy tales include "The Emperor's New Clothes", "The Little Mermaid", "The Nightingale", "The Steadfast Tin Soldier", "The Snow Queen", "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Little Match Girl". His books have been translated into every living language, and today there is no child or adult that has not met Andersen's whimsical characters. His fairy tales have been adapted to stage and screen countless times, most notably by Disney with the animated films "The Little Mermaid" in 1989 and "Frozen", which is loosely based on "The Snow Queen", in 2013. Thanks to Andersen's contribution to children's literature, his birth date, April 2, is celebrated as International Children's Book Day.
