Download or read book Wheat Belly written by William Davis and published by Rodale Books. This book was released on 2014-06-03 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Includes a sneak peek of Undoctored—the new book from Dr. Davis! In this #1 New York Times bestseller, a renowned cardiologist explains how eliminating wheat from our diets can prevent fat storage, shrink unsightly bulges, and reverse myriad health problems. Every day, over 200 million Americans consume food products made of wheat. As a result, over 100 million of them experience some form of adverse health effect, ranging from minor rashes and high blood sugar to the unattractive stomach bulges that preventive cardiologist William Davis calls "wheat bellies." According to Davis, that excess fat has nothing to do with gluttony, sloth, or too much butter: It's due to the whole grain wraps we eat for lunch. After witnessing over 2,000 patients regain their health after giving up wheat, Davis reached the disturbing conclusion that wheat is the single largest contributor to the nationwide obesity epidemic—and its elimination is key to dramatic weight loss and optimal health. In Wheat Belly, Davis exposes the harmful effects of what is actually a product of genetic tinkering and agribusiness being sold to the American public as "wheat"—and provides readers with a user-friendly, step-by-step plan to navigate a new, wheat-free lifestyle. Informed by cutting-edge science and nutrition, along with case studies from men and women who have experienced life-changing transformations in their health after waving goodbye to wheat, Wheat Belly is an illuminating look at what is truly making Americans sick and an action plan to clear our plates of this seemingly benign ingredient.

The maturing believer is called by God Himself to jettison all values that are not His so the believer's character can become Christ-like. Possessing the Treasure looks closely at our "Spiritual Treasure." We are called to submit entirely to the regenerative process through which the Lord takes all of His true children. Those who endure the fires of sanctification will become the Christ-like believers who recognize their Treasure. The Christian walk of faith is accomplished successfully by those who understand they have entered into a blood covenant with their Savior. They value their citizenship in the Kingdom of God as their most valuable treasure.
Download or read book Unless a Grain of Wheat written by Thomas A. Oduro and published by Langham Global Library. This book was released on 2021-10-06 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For six decades, North American Mennonites have walked alongside African Independent Churches (AICs) as they have navigated their faith journey between the ancient traditions of the ancestors and the newer claims of Christ upon their lives. The story of these relationships is a fascinating pilgrimage in partnership, offering hope for a mutuality that slips the knots of colonialism and testifies to the unifying power of the Holy Spirit. Beginning with a historical overview by missiologist Wilbert R. Shenk, this volume contains the reflections of over fifty AIC and Mennonite colleagues concerning the significance and impact of this long-standing partnership. Their stories illustrate the disparate threads of a sixty-year experiment in shared endeavor, while offering insight into the history of the church and missions in Africa. This book is a powerful account of mutual learning, forgiveness, and growth. It is an excellent resource for lovers of story, students of post-colonialism and indigenous Christianity, and all those concerned with building relationships across cultural and racial divides.
Download or read book A Sweet and Bitter Providence written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2009-12-21 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex. Race. Scripture. Sovereignty. The book of Ruth entails them all. So readers shouldn't be fooled by its age, says Pastor John Piper. Though its events happened over 3,000 years ago, the story holds astounding relevance for Christians in the twenty-first century. The sovereignty of God, the sexual nature of humanity, and the gospel of God's mercy for the undeserving-these massive realities never change. And since God is still sovereign, and we are male or female, and Jesus is alive and powerful, A Sweet and Bitter Providence bears a message for readers from all walks of life. But be warned, Piper tells his audience: This ancient love affair between Boaz and Ruth could be dangerous, inspiring all of us to great risks in the cause of love.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For thirty years, Danish plant scientist Bent Skovmand served as adviser to dozens of countries and hunted for seeds with genes to resist disease and such environmental stresses as drought, flooding, and global warming. In an era when multinational corporations often jealously guarded patents on plant breeding, Skovmand fought to keep his seed bank a free, open scientific exchange for breeders and farmers everywhere. By telling the story of Skovmand and his colleagues, The Viking in the Wheat Field sheds welcome light on an agricultural sector--plant genetic resources--on which our food supply is crucially dependent.

The mobile harvest provides an endless supply of ready victims. He has been killing for years now and intends to kill for many more. A young man named Charlie Krueger also follows the harvest. Download or read book The Priest the Woman and the Confessional written by Chiniquy, Charles and published by Delmarva Publications, Inc.. This book was released on 2015-02-20 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There are two women who ought to be constant objects of the compassion of the disciples of Christ, and for whom daily prayers ought to be offered at the mercy-seat—the Brahmin woman, who, deceived by her priests, burns herself on the corpse of her husband to appease the wrath of her wooden gods; and the Roman Catholic woman, who, not less deceived by her priests, suffers a torture far more cruel and ignominious in the confessional-box, to appease the wrath of her wafer-god. For I do not exaggerate when I say, that for many noble-hearted, well-educated, high-minded women, to be forced to unveil their hearts before the eyes of a man, to open to him all the most secret recesses of their souls, all the most sacred mysteries of their single or married life, to allow him to put to them questions which the most depraved woman would never consent to hear from her vilest seducer, is often more horrible and intolerable than to be tied on burning coals. More than once, I have seen women fainting in the confessional-box, who told me afterwards, that the necessity of speaking to an unmarried man on certain things, on which the most common laws of decency ought to have for ever sealed their lips, had almost killed them! Not hundreds, but thousands of times, I have heard from the lips of dying girls, as well as of married women, the awful words; "I am forever lost! All my past confessions and communions have been so many sacrileges! I have never dared to answer correctly the questions of my confessors! Shame has sealed my lips and damned my soul!" How many times I remained as one petrified, by the side of a corpse, when these last words having hardly escaped the lips of one of my female penitents, who had been snatched out of my reach by the merciless hand of death, before I could give her pardon through the deceitful sacramental absolution? I then believed, as the dead sinner herself had believed, that she could not be forgiven except by that absolution. For there are not only thousands but millions of Roman Catholic girls and women whose keen sense of modesty and womanly dignity are above all the sophisms and diabolical machinations of their priests. They never can be persuaded to answer "Yes " to certain questions of their confessors.
Download or read book The Woman and the Beast written by Fred A. Wilson and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-07-30 with total page 555 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Book of Revelation (12), we read of a Woman’s flight into the Wilderness, thus, "And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the Earth, he went in pursuit of the Woman who had given birth to the male Child. But the Woman was supplied with the two wings of a giant eagle, so that she might fly from the presence of the serpent into the wilderness, to the retreat where she is to be kept safe and fed for a time, and times, and half a time (three and one-half years, or 1,260 days)". As did Ancient Israel, our Lord Jesus had His Experience when He was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the Devil. Satan tries to seduce Him to Sin, saying, “If You are the Lord Jehovah ́s Son, command these stones to be made [loaves of] bread”. Lord Jesus summed up the outcome of the Test of the Wilderness Experience, replying, “It has been written, ‘That Man shall not live and be upheld and sustained by bread alone, but by every Word that comes forth from the Mouth of the Lord Jehovah’” (Matthew 4v8-11; cf. Deuteronomy 8). In Revelation (17), however, Apostle John again describes a Woman in the Wilderness, thus, "and I saw a Woman seated on a scarlet beast that was all covered with blasphemous names, and he had seven heads and ten horns. The Woman was robed in purple and scarlet and bedecked with gold, precious stones, and pearls, [and she was] holding in her hand a golden cup full of the accursed offences and the filth of her lewdness and vice". Did the Woman fail her Test and Temptations of the Wilderness Experience? This book offers an alternative interpretation and trawls through the Holy Scriptures and the Histories of our World to trace the paths of the Woman and the scarlet beast.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Former priest reveals a tragic danger of the confessional. What happens when women are commanded, under penalty of eternal damnation, to confess to a man their deepest sexual thoughts and sins? Former priest, Charles Chiniquy, continually dealt with this problem. He personally heard the confessions of over 200 priests. All but 21 admitted falling prey to Satan's devices in this area. This book reverently and tastefully exposes why confession of sins to a man cannot be of God. You'll see how this practice destroys both the priest and the person doing the confessing
