Book Thermodynamics Gas Dynamics and Combustion

Download or read book Thermodynamics Gas Dynamics and Combustion written by Henry Clyde Foust III and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-12-07 with total page 408 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook provides students studying thermodynamics for the first time with an accessible and readable primer on the subject. The book is written in three parts: Part I covers the fundamentals of thermodynamics, Part II is on gas dynamics, and Part III focuses on combustion. Chapters are written clearly and concisely and include examples and problems to support the concepts outlined in the text. The book begins with a discussion of the fundamentals of thermodynamics and includes a thorough analysis of engineering devices. The book moves on to address applications in gas dynamics and combustion to include advanced topics such as two-phase critical flow and blast theory. Written for use in Introduction to Thermodynamics, Advanced Thermodynamics, and Introduction to Combustion courses, this book uniquely covers thermodynamics, gas dynamics, and combustion in a clear and concise manner, showing the integral connections at an advanced undergraduate or graduate student level.

Book Thermal Conductivity 18

Download or read book Thermal Conductivity 18 written by T. Ashworth and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 734 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The International Thermal Conductivity Conference was started in 1961 with the initiative of Mr. Charles F. Lucks, who passed away on 8 July 1982 and to the memory of whom this volume is dedicated. These Conferences on thermal conductivity grew out of the needs of researchers in the field. The Conferences were held annu ally from 1961 to 1973 and have been held biennially since 1975 when our Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) of Purdue University became the Permanent Sponsor of the Conferences. These Conferences provide a broadly based forum for researchers actively working on the thermal conduc tivity and closely related properties to convene on a regular basis to exchange their ideas and experiences and report their findings and results. The Conferences have been self-perpetuating and are an example of how a technical community with a common purpose can transcend the invisible, artificial barriers between disciplines and gather together in increasing numbers without the need of national pub licity and continuing funding support, when they see something worthwhile going on. It is believed that this series of Conferences not only will grow stronger, but will set an example for research ers in other fields on how to jointly attack their own problem areas.

Book Measurement of the Thermodynamic Properties of Single Phases

Download or read book Measurement of the Thermodynamic Properties of Single Phases written by Anthony Goodwin and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2003-07-03 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title is a revision of Experimental Thermodynamics Volume II, published in 1975, reflecting the significant technological developments and new methods introduced into the study of measurement of thermodynamic quantities. The editors of this volume were assigned the task of assembling an international team of distinguished experimentalists, to describe the current state of development of the techniques of measurement of the thermodynamic quantities of single phases. The resulting volume admirably fulfils this brief and contains a valuable summary of a large variety of experimental techniques applicable over a wide range of thermodynamic states with an emphasis on the precision and accuracy of the results obtained. Those interested in the art of measurements, and in particular engaged in the measurement of thermodynamic properties, will find this material invaluable for the guidance it provides towards the development of new and more accurate techniques.·Provides detailed descriptions of experimental chemical thermodynamic methods·Strong practical bias and includes both detailed working equations and figures for the experimental methods·Most comprehensive text in this field since the publication of Experimental Thermodynamics II

Book Thermophysical Properties of Fluids

Download or read book Thermophysical Properties of Fluids written by Marc J. Assael and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is concerned with the prediction of thermodynamic and transport properties of gases and liquids. The prediction of such properties is essential for the solution of many problems encountered in chemical and process engineering as well as in other areas of science and technology. The book aims to present the best of those modern methods which are capable of practical application. It begins with basic scientific principles and formal results which are subsequently developed into practical methods of prediction. Numerous examples, supported by a suite of computer programmes, illustrate applications of the methods. The book is aimed primarily at the student market (for both undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses) but it will also be useful for those engaged in research and for chemical and process engineering professionals.
