He searches around the house for all the things he remembers using on past fishing trips. He packs worms, bobbers, net, and gloves with the hopes that he has all the important items a fisheman needs. Then he and his dad walk down to the pond close to his house where they catch fish using the worms, bobbers, net, and fishing gloves to catch a total of eight fish. They enjoy a day of talking, laughing, and catching fish together and really bond. Then they pack up all of their fishing supplies and head for home. When they get home they put away their fishing poles and tackle boxes in the garage. Edison is so excited to tell mom all about his fishing trip so he runs inside to find her. Mom asks him if he had a good time and he tells her he had a great time! Even though Edison worried about what was most important to pack in his tackle box, he ended up learning the most important thing he took with him wasn't even in his tackle box.

Book Creativity Tackle Box

Download or read book Creativity Tackle Box written by Laura Magner and published by Pieces of Learning. This book was released on 2008 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Creativity Tackle Box offers strategies, games, exercises, and thinker tools to help students practice thinking more creatively. Some strategies limber their creative minds. Others help solve real problems in a creative way. These activities practice fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration; risk taking, preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification - Torrance's, Williams' and Wallas' components that help define the theory of creative thought. So, what can we learn about creativity and how to teach it? It is important to let go, to feel free to take chances, to fail, and to try again. And not just in art class - in any class. Teachers need to allow breathing room for students and need to cultivate an accepting atmosphere for students to create. The activities in The Creativity Tackle Box remind educators to allow students to feel the joy and satisfaction they get from making something new, thinking something novel, and doing something real as they use their creativity to solve real problems.

  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 108 pages

Download or read book Tackle Box written by Patti White and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Poetry. Patti White was a probation officer in Colorado before turning to academic life. She now teaches American literature at Ball State University and is the author of Gatsby's Party: the System and the List in Contemporary Literature. "These poems offer a unique perception of the world, almost primal in their energy and power, but also couched in the sophistication of global myth and literature. Patti White's voice is authoritative, witty, and persuasive. She can take the most trivial subject and give it substance through her imaginative vision. Like a shaman, she offers reverence for life and the living, but this is no soft-focus new age shaman afraid to touch blood or penetrate mysteries. To read these poems is to be invigorated, to feel the possibility of moving outside the confines of one's own narrow personal life"--Diane Wakoski.

Book excerpt: Poetry. Poems of daily diligence, attenuated to the rhythms of rural life, meet with poems of Buddhist inspired meditations on how these rhythms fit into larger life patterns in Maj Ragain's latest collection, A HUNGRY GHOST SURRENDERS HIS TACKLEBOX. In his hands poetry becomes that dirt road winding back home, corn tassel, fencerows, the last light fading in the top branches of a century oak, bridging solitude and community, a way to offer one's longings to the world. "Pay the bill for the water/ in which you boil the rice. The rice sustains the body./ The water from A HUNGRY GHOST SURRENDERS HIS TACKLEBOX."

Block (Amazon reviewer) "Divinely inspired, Simple to use techniques, Amazing results." - Harmony528 (Amazon reviewer) "What an awesome book! Practical, inspiring, & life-changing. Very uplifting. You make me feel like all my problems are nothing and life is magical lol. Blessings." I.S. "THANK YOU so much for the amazing improvement in my energy level that happened because of your medical recommendation and because of the Liquid Fish!!!! Absolutely amazing! I deeply love the Liquid Fish. I have read the book and I work with the Liquid Fish every single day - it is so much fun, it brings so much joy and I feel so grateful for this gift!!! Sometimes the pure divine simplicity and the intensity of the energy by simply drawing the fish is overwhelming... Sorry, don't have enough English words to express my feeling, my joy, my gratefulness... Now I would really like to learn more and go into it on a deeper level." E. Lettner "Jimmy's work reminds me of a credit card commercial, where they try to put a price on various items and eventually determine that certain things are priceless. Well, after reading The Tackle Box and purchasing a number of Jimmy's audio recordings, I'd have to agree that Jimmy Mack is priceless! Especially for my children and grandchildren, I appreciate having options to deal with health and spiritual issues that involve creative expression, which is for me the highest quality of information that I can obtain or access in this domain. It is so refreshing to be able to solve problems and tackle life's hurdles based upon wisdom, versus having to deal with opinions and theories that propagate from state sponsored institutions and agencies. If it weren't for the simple but elegant theme of relating to the fish, I think I'd refer to this book as My Jewel Box! In any event, it certainly does contain some of life's greatest treasures. Simple but powerful, and I highly recommend this one for your personal library."- RBI (Amazon reviewer) "In a time when New Age gurus are peddling their workshops and invisible products for top dollar and trying to copyright God, Jimmy Mack is offering a revolutionary set of energetic tools for pennies. The Tackle Box is full of highly useful, powerful techniques for do it yourself healing---including a highly simplified and effective method called My Liquid Fish, how to muscle test what to do when things aren't working, and what is important and what is unnecessary. This book is helpful for the lay person as well as practitioners. In this case, the Emperor has clothes." Tamara Guirando, San Francisco, CA

Book Fishing on the Edge

Download or read book Fishing on the Edge written by Mike Iaconelli and published by Delacorte Press. This book was released on 2005-05-17 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With his colorful tattoos and booming hip-hop sound track, Mike Iaconelli has turned the world of big-money competitive bass fishing upside down. In Fishing on the Edge, Iaconelli tells his own story–and it’s a whopper: a Philly-born, Jersey-bred Yankee who’s been stealing the spotlight from bass fishing’s traditionally all-Southern anglers, attracting fans and dominating one of the fastest-growing sports in America. How did Mike Iaconelli, a college-educated kid from New Jersey, come blasting into a sport dominated by old-school stars like Gary Klein, Kevin VanDam, and Denny Brauer? How did Mike, aka “Ike,” take a secret childhood passion and turn it into a profession, earning million-dollar sponsorships and a storm of media attention, ranging from ESPN’s SportsCenter to profiles in The New York Times and Esquire? While Mike has attracted both fans and foes on the tour, his success speaks for itself, especially his victory at the 2003 CITGO Bassmaster Classic, the Super Bowl of competitive fishing. Forty-four million Americans fish, but no one does it quite like Mike Iaconelli. In Fishing on the Edge, he lets you in on the secrets to his extraordinary success–how he developed his “power” fishing style, how he attacks the water, positions the boat, and perseveres through those days when the bass just aren’t biting. With sidebar tips that can be used by any fisherman–from using spinner baits to picking out the right rod to his no-fail “secret weapons”–this is an intensive, informative, and often raucous journey through the life of a brash young man destined to do for fishing what Tony Hawk did for the X Games: take the sport to a whole new level. At the same time, it’s the compelling first-person story of a man who prepared carefully every step of the way, kept notes on every fish he ever caught, and executed the perfect plan to get to the top. A tale of passion, competition, and extreme personality, Fishing on the Edge is a book for anyone who loves the sport of fishing, wants to turn a hobby into a career, or is simply fascinated by a man’s unstoppable drive to succeed.
