Download or read book For The Wounded Soul written by Cheryline Lawson and published by Cheryline Lawson. This book was released on 2010-03-05 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is packed with several short stories of real people who have experienced a variety of life-changing events such as domestic violence, prostitution, infidelity, rape, incest, child abuse, loss of a loved one, divorce and so much more. Each story is unique and is a reflection of what is going on in our current society. It is a revelation and exposure of things that people just don't want to talk about, but are so important because of the impact that these things make on our society in the past, present and future. The exact names of the characters have been changed to protect their privacy, but these stories are similar to what other people are going through and even if you cannot identify with any of these experiences, you probably know someone who does. You will feel compassion, sadness, joy, hysterics, love, and so many other emotions when you read this book. A few of these are my own personal story because why would you want to read something from me that I have not personally gone through myself? So I can relate to this and so will you or a friend or family member. Each story was from an interview that I conducted with the individual. The title describes what the book is all about. Many people still carry their wounds around even through adulthood. The book shows, in some of the stories, that there is hope. I chose the cover to reveal real pain. I learned from writing this book that we are all connected in some way, whether we like it or not. Pain is relative and we can get over anything that we might have gone through. Book Price is $17.59

You being with me is the worst thing you could do, and so just one kiss and you being here like this with me is more than I can ask for. I respect you too much to do anything else," he uttered. "That's the worst thing you could have said," she stood up, moving toward the fence rapidly. "And so disrespectful! You don't respect me! You're toying with me!" she said, sobbing, clumsily climbing over the fence, and falling gracelessly onto the other side. She straightened up quickly and, without looking back, she ran toward Ashley's house...
Download or read book Before We Were Strangers written by Renée Carlino and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-08-18 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the USA TODAY bestselling author of Sweet Thing and Nowhere But Here comes a love story about a Craigslist “missed connection” post that gives two people a second chance at love fifteen years after they were separated in New York City. To the Green-eyed Lovebird: We met fifteen years ago, almost to the day, when I moved my stuff into the NYU dorm room next to yours at Senior House. You called us fast friends. I like to think it was more. We lived on nothing but the excitement of finding ourselves through music (you were obsessed with Jeff Buckley), photography (I couldn’t stop taking pictures of you), hanging out in Washington Square Park, and all the weird things we did to make money. I learned more about myself that year than any other. Yet, somehow, it all fell apart. We lost touch the summer after graduation when I went to South America to work for National Geographic. When I came back, you were gone. A part of me still wonders if I pushed you too hard after the wedding… I didn’t see you again until a month ago. It was a Wednesday. You were rocking back on your heels, balancing on that thick yellow line that runs along the subway platform, waiting for the F train. I didn’t know it was you until it was too late, and then you were gone. Again. You said my name; I saw it on your lips. I tried to will the train to stop, just so I could say hello. After seeing you, all of the youthful feelings and memories came flooding back to me, and now I’ve spent the better part of a month wondering what your life is like. I might be totally out of my mind, but would you like to get a drink with me and catch up on the last decade and a half? M
