Book The Seed the Covenants and the Prophecies

Download or read book The Seed the Covenants and the Prophecies written by Hans Willer Laale and published by Word Alive Press. This book was released on 2017-10-03 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Seed, the Covenants, and the Prophecies is designed for students and laymen. It is held together by a thin thread, the promised “Seed of the Woman,” a promise that makes its way throughout the Old Testament on the wings of prophecy to find its fulfilment in the New Testament. The “Seed of the Woman” is initially perceived indistinctly, but as revelations are made by God’s inspired holy prophets over time, a detailed portrait emerges of Jesus Christ, the incarnate Word of God, in His all-embracing fullness. Arranged chronologically, the book provides from a literal biblical perspective an abridged historical timeline of God’s covenants with the Jewish people of Israel and Judah, and of the Old Testament Messianic prophecies that have found fulfilment in the New Testament. Events are liberally documented with excerpts and explanatory footnotes. Interwoven with the unfolding fabric of ancient, medieval, and modern political and religious conflicts, it is hoped that the book will stimulate interest in God’s Word, elicit dialogue, and provide readers with a fair measure of enjoyment as well as spiritual direction.

Book New Covenant Theology and Prophecy

Download or read book New Covenant Theology and Prophecy written by John G. Reisinger and published by . This book was released on 2012-12-01 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If we primarily use the Old Testament Scriptures to form our understanding of eschatology, we likely will embrace a premillennial understanding of Abraham's and David's expectations. At the risk of over-simplifying, we will refer to this as a Dispensational hermeneutic. If we use the texts in the New Testament Scriptures that deal with the promise to Abraham we likely will favor the amillennial position. Again, at the risk of over-simplifying, we will call this a Covenant hermeneutic (short for Covenant theology). Currently, New Covenant theology has no clearly defined hermeneutic. Adherents of New Covenant theology have attempted to answer this question by modifying either Covenantal hermeneutics or Dispensational hermeneutics. One of the basic presuppositions of New Covenant theology is that the New Testament Scriptures must interpret the Old Testament. "How do the New Testament writers interpret the kingdom promises of the Old Testament?" Do the New Testament writers give a literal, or "natural," meaning to the kingdom promises in the Old Testament, or do they spiritualize those prophecies? This book represents an attempt to begin serious work toward establishing New Covenant hermeneutics from the ground up-that is, without beginning with either Covenantal or Dispensational hermeneutics.

Book The Grace of God the Will of Man

Download or read book The Grace of God the Will of Man written by Clark H. Pinnock and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 1989 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The Grace of God, the Will of Man: A Case for Arminianism" was written by an impressive team of evangelical scholars from many traditions. This work carries on the ancient debate about the scope of God's saving purposes and the manner of his effecting salvation in human beings. It defends the proposition that God is a dynamic personal Agent who respects the freedom he chose to delegate to his human creatures and relates sensitively to us in the outworking of his plans for the whole of history. God is love and expresses his power by working salvation among us under conditions of genuine mutuality. The contributors to this volume are Christian scholars who are eager to present this evangelical model as an alternative to deterministic theology. They do not claim to have said the last word on the subject but want at least to keep the ball of theological discussion in play.

Why are relatively small powers like Egypt, Syria and Lebanon mentioned, but no nation recognizable as the United States can be found? What about other major English-speaking nations such as the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia? In fact, many prophecies do mention these nations. But, without a proper understanding of history and the Scriptures, few can identify these countries and understand what lies ahead for them. Why have they been blessed so favorably over the nations that preceded them in history? The answer lies in the understanding and fulfillment of biblical prophecy." "God's promise to Abraham was not limited to a small and ancient people in the Middle East. It extends far into the future, and it is not limited by national boundaries." "Where can we find the descendants of Joseph, the lost tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh? This list of blessings eliminates most of the nations of the world as contenders. To find them we must ask: Which nations possess these blessings in our world?" "When we understand that the modern descendants of Joseph are the people of the United States and Britain, we see that over the past three centuries God has been true to His promises." "Though the United States and Britain do not appear in the Bible's prophecies of the end time under their present names, God hasn't ignored these nations. He identifies them in prophecy according to their ancestry. Most people simply haven't known where to look for them."

  • Pages : 294 pages

Download or read book The Messiah written by William Varner and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2004-11-23 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A mysterious figure called the “Messiah” is the central theme of the entire Bible. In this book that Messianic theme is traced from its announcement in the Old Testament through its development between the Testaments to its fulfillment in the New Testament. The book also examines how Jews and Christians have continued to debate this subject down until today. There are also some studies on fascinating related subjects like the location of the Temple and the ashes of the Red Heifer. While these chapters have been written from a Christian perspective, adequate attention has also been given to Jewish concerns. The Messiah was successively revealed, rejected and received. This book explains how and why that happened. “In this book, Will Varner has opened the Scripture to provide a readable, clarifying look at Jesus, the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of the world. Jesus once asked His disciples, ”Who do men say that I am?” (Mark 8:27). That is still the most urgent question - - who is this Jesus? You will find the answer powerfully and convincingly provided in this outstanding book.” John MacArthur, Grace Community Church, Sun Valley, CA and President of The Master’s College

Book The Prophetic Parables of Matthew 13

Download or read book The Prophetic Parables of Matthew 13 written by Arthur Pink and published by Darolt Books. This book was released on 2020-03-10 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Prophetic Parables of Matthew 13 is a message of meditation based on the Bible and written by Arthur Walkington Pink (1 April 1886 – 15 July 1952) was an English Bible teacher who sparked a renewed interest in the exposition of Calvinism or Reformed Theology. Little known in his own lifetime, Pink became "one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the twentieth century." Arthur Walkington Pink was born in Nottingham, England, to a corn merchant, a devout non-conformist of uncertain denomination, though probably a Congregationalist. Otherwise, almost nothing is known of Pink's childhood or education except that he had some ability and training in music. As a young man, Pink joined the Theosophical Society and apparently rose to enough prominence within its ranks that Annie Besant, its head, offered to admit him to its leadership circle.[4] In 1908 he renounced Theosophy for evangelical Christianity. Desiring to become a minister but unwilling to attend a liberal theological college in England, Pink very briefly studied at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1910 before taking the pastorate of the Congregational church in Silverton, Colorado. In 1912 Pink left Silverton, probably for California, and then took a joint pastorate of churches in rural Burkesville and Albany, Kentucky. In 1916, he married Vera E. Russell (1893–1962), who had been reared in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Pink's next pastorate seems to have been in Scottsville. Then the newlyweds moved in 1917 to Spartanburg, South Carolina, where Pink became pastor of Northside Baptist Church. By this time Pink had become acquainted with prominent dispensationalist Fundamentalists, such as Harry Ironside and Arno C. Gaebelein, and his first two books, published in 1917 and 1918, were in agreement with that theological position. Yet Pink's views were changing, and during these years he also wrote the first edition of The Sovereignty of God (1918), which argued that God did not love sinners and had deliberately created "unto damnation" those who would not accept Christ. Whether because of his Calvinistic views, his nearly incredible studiousness, his weakened health, or his lack of sociability, Pink left Spartanburg in 1919 believing that God would "have me give myself to writing." But Pink then seems next to have taught the Bible with some success in California for a tent evangelist named Thompson while continuing his intense study of Puritan writings.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With over 100 million copies in print, the Book of Mormon has spawned a vast religious movement, but it remains little discussed outside Mormon circles. Now Terry L. Givens offers a full-length treatment of this influential work, illuminating the varied meanings and tempestuous impact of this uniquely American scripture. Givens examines the text's role as a divine testament of the Last Days and as a sacred sign of Joseph Smith's status as a modern-day prophet. He assesses its claim to be a history of the pre-Columbian peopling of the Western Hemisphere, and later explores how the Book has been defined as a cultural product--the imaginative ravings of a rustic religion-maker. Givens further investigates its status as a new American Bible or Fifth Gospel, one that displaces, supports, or, in some views, perverts the canonical Word of God. Finally, Givens highlights the Book's role as the engine behind what may become the next world religion. The most wide-ranging study on the subject outside Mormon presses, By the Hand of Mormon will fascinate anyone curious about a religious people who, despite their numbers, remain strangers in our midst.

This book was released on 1999-01-15 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The most detailed study yet of early Mormon thought about the ""end times,"" The Millenarian World of Early Mormonism shows how Mormon views of Christ's imminent second coming exerted a profound influence on Mormonism between 1830 and 1846. By exploring how early LDS interpretation of the Bible and the Book of Mormon affected, and was affected by, Mormon millennial doctrines, Grant Underwood provides the first comprehensive linkage of the history of early Mormonism and millennial thought. He also probes LDS perceptions of the institutions and values prevalent before the Civil War, reassessing Mormonism's relationship to the dominant culture and placing Mormon millennial thought in the broader context of Judeo-Christian ideas about the end of the world."

Book The Blood Covenant Bride Prophetic Writings by Gavin Finley MD

This book was released on 2014-07-08 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ""Is our faith a unilateral contract to acquire a free ticket to heaven, or is it a two-way blood covenant between us and our savior... a commitment unto death?"" So begins the first essay in this book, a collection of essays by Gavin Finley, MD. These writings are prophetic. They do not follow conventional wisdom, nor do they stand with the status quo. What the writing of Gavin Finley will do is shake up our staid notions -- bringing old paradigms into question and new thoughts into view. Reminiscent of the best of C.S. Lewis, Francis Shaeffer, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the writing of Gavin Finley is not for the faint of heart. At turns acerbic and brilliant, this writing is for those whose heart yearns for the deeper quest in God, and a deeper understanding of who we are, and where we are going in the coming seasons. These essays outline a glorious Bride, awaiting the return of her Beloved by actively walking out His end-time plan!

Book excerpt: Finally, an understanding of spiritual reality for the non-religious….. The Covenant Book is sure to change the lives of multitudes around the world through a unique and fresh approach to spiritual understanding. Bruce Taylor, one of today’s astute spiritual teachers issues a timely and sobering call back to the understanding of humanity’s fallen spiritual state, and the Redemption provided to correct it. In The Covenant Book, Taylor skillfully blends gifted teaching, popular culture, science, and spiritual tutoring 101 into a message revealing the necessity of profound introspection regarding one’s world view and man’s eternal destiny. It is a blueprint for life through practical understanding of spiritual reality. It delivers, and it does so through exploring the revolutionary way God reveals His Love for Man via a Redemption plan of Grace. Taylor compellingly argues for getting to know God through approaching Him in the way God provides via Covenant and not the usual potpourri of man made religions. He clearly reveals how the average person who knows nothing about God or religion can grasp the reality of where God is, what He is doing, and how each of us can experience Him in our lives today. Masterfully capturing the nature of God and His dealings with man through a unique behind-the–scenes approach, he provides a fresh view of how God sees man today through love and redemption. It’s a message of great hope for humanity.
