After a disturbing vision, Shaylae learns that an evil woman named Istas is attempting to destroy Nashota, Shaylaes distant ancestor. Nashota is the woman who returned with a large group of people back to Tal'el'Dineh, the original home of the Navajo. Shaylae decides to travel back in time to the late 16th Century to the time of Nashotas birth in order to protect her. Even though she succeeds, Shaylae realizes that the fight is far from over, also realizing that Istas is a far more powerful foe than any she has so far encountered. For the first time in her life, Shaylae has real misgivings about whether or not she can succeed in defeating Istas's unthinkable plans for the future of not just the Dineh, but for the Holy Ones themselves.

Book 80 Reasons Why the Book of Mormon Is an African Bible

Download or read book 80 Reasons Why the Book of Mormon Is an African Bible written by Embaye Melekin and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2017-10-23 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, I have presented eighty reasons to prove that the Book of Mormon is that of the history of Eritrea and Ethiopia, and its prophecies encompass the entire continent of Africa and the black race in general. I have also successfully identified who the authentic Israelites are in the world. The Book of Mormon contains the ultimate revelations the world has been waiting for many centuries. Its prophecies are incredibly very accurate and reveal the ultimate truths that were hidden from mankind for many centuries. When the Book of Mormon’s true messages are finally made known to mankind, as I am doing now, the world would marvel at the contents of its records. The perceptions of the white and black races especially would change dramatically. They shall view their relationships with each other from different perspectives when they come to the full knowledge and understanding of the truth contained in the Book of Mormon. The prophet Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon very accurately from its Sa’bean script. However, the Mormon Church was not expected to know the truth about the valuable contents of the Book of Mormon until God’s own appointed time and did not do so for many decades. I am prophesied in the records of the Book of Mormon to reveal the final truth contained in the book at God’s appointed time, which is now. I am therefore doing the work the Lord designated me for, as prophesied in the Book of Mormon, and I am bringing to revelation the ultimate truths of the records of the book to the African people and our descendants all over the world. The African people and the black race especially are the primary beneficiaries and heirs to the records of the Book of Mormon. However, the truth contained in the Book of Mormon will not only benefit Africans but also the entire human race and especially the Gentiles or the white race.

Book The Testimony of Two Nations

Download or read book The Testimony of Two Nations written by Michael Austin and published by University of Illinois Press. This book was released on 2024-01-02 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Understanding the Book of Mormon on its own terms and through its two-way connection with the Bible Like the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Bible, the Book of Mormon uses narratives to develop ideas and present instruction. Michael Austin reveals how the Book of Mormon connects itself to narratives in the Christian Bible with many of the same tools that the New Testament used to connect itself to the Hebrew Bible to create the Christian Bible. As Austin shows, the canonical context for interpreting the Book of Mormon includes the Christian Bible, the Book of Mormon itself, and other writings and revelations that hold scriptural status in most Restoration denominations. Austin pays particular attention to how the Book of Mormon connects itself to the Christian Bible both to form a new canon and to use the canonical relationship to reframe and reinterpret biblical narratives. This canonical context provides an important and fruitful method for interpreting the Book of Mormon.

Book Second Witness Analytical and Contextual Commentary on the Book of Mormon

Download or read book Second Witness Analytical and Contextual Commentary on the Book of Mormon written by Brant A. Gardner and published by Greg Kofford Books. This book was released on 2007-09-01 with total page 673 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stop looking for the Book of Mormon in Mesoamerica and start looking for Mesoamerica in the Book of Mormon! Second Witness, a new six-volume series from Greg Kofford Books, takes a detailed, verse-by-verse look at the Book of Mormon. It marshals the best of modern scholarship and new insights into a consistent picture of the Book of Mormon as a historical document. Taking a faithful but scholarly approach to the text and reading it through the insights of linguistics, anthropology, and ethnohistory, the commentary approaches the text from a variety of perspectives: how it was created, how it relates to history and culture, and what religious insights it provides. The commentary accepts the best modern scholarship, which focuses on a particular region of Mesoamerica as the most plausible location for the Book of Mormon’s setting. For the first time, that location—its peoples, cultures, and historical trends—are used as the backdrop for reading the text. The historical background is not presented as proof, but rather as an explanatory context. The commentary does not forget Mormon’s purpose in writing. It discusses the doctrinal and theological aspects of the text and highlights the way in which Mormon created it to meet his goal of “convincing . . . the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God.”

This includes the period of great wickedness just prior to the coming of Christ. We read of the missions of Nephi and Lehi, followed by Samuel the Lamanite. The signs of Christ's birth and death are given, followed by their fulfillment. Great destruction occurs on the American continent, and only the righteous survive in the Land of Bountiful. Christ appears to the Nephites, teaches and heals them, organizes His Church and ordains 12 disciples to lead them. After His departure, a Zion people live in peace for many years, then decline again into great wickedness. We read of the final days of the Nephites in the writings of Mormon and Moroni. We also read about the Jaredites, who were the first to inherit the land, long before Lehi's family arrived. In all, it covers 2,000 years of Jaredite history, and 469 years of Nephite history from 52 BC to 421 AD when the book of Moroni closes. The cover features a beautiful painting titled "Behold Your Little Ones," by Del Parson.
