This book was released on 2013-09-06 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The School of the Prophets is a ministerial school of development for those who are called to any aspect of Christ and want to learn more about the gift of prophecy and/or the office of prophet. The School of the prophets (company of prophets) is not new move or concept. It was developed during the ministry of the Prophet Samuel. (1 Samuel 10:5). The Prophet Samuel was one who had revelation, (visions, dreams, prophecy) who interceded (stood in the gap, made up a hedge) protected the people (warfare strategy, executing the word of the Lord), taught other prophets, anointed leaders, provided counsel to warriors concerning divine strategy, as well as prophesying the word of God according to the revelations that he received from God.

Thanks for honoring my generation's pioneering work and picking up the baton and carrying it forth!"--Dr. James Goll, founder, Encounters Network, Prayer Storm and GET eSchool "My friend Kris Vallotton has masterfully crafted this treatise, School of the Prophets, on the dynamics and framework of building a prophetic community in the 21st century. Chironna, M.A., Ph.D.; Mark Chironna Ministries; Church on the Living Edge, Orlando, Florida "I love this book! As a person passionate to see the most desired gift in the New Testament (1 Corinthians 14:1) flourish all over the world, I would recommend this book wholesale. It clearly and biblically describes how to function in the New Testament gift of prophecy and articulates various kinds of biblical prophets. If one heeds its principles, it will give greater understanding and produce higher levels of maturity in prophetic ministry."--Stacey Campbell, founder, Canadian Prophetic Council; author, Ecstatic Prophecy "This is a must-read for all ministries. As an apostolic ministry, we recognize the gifts and callings that God has placed on the lives of those we pastor. Reading School of the Prophets has given us greater insight and understanding of how to help develop and prepare others to walk in their divine assignment. Kris Vallotton brings much clarity in what it means to be called in the office of a prophet and eliminates the fear of giving and receiving the prophetic."--Tony and Cynthia Brazelton, founders and pastors, Victory Christian Ministries International "Kris Vallotton's book reminds us that the heart of prophecy should be God's heart to build up, encourage and speak life. Kris goes through strategic and important teaching about prophecy versus the office of prophet, specifically in the context of the Church. I highly recommend this book and pray that it helps you to understand the prophetic and to 'call the gold' out of those around you."--Heidi Baker, Ph.D.; co-founder and director, Iris Global "As I read this book, I could hear the sound of an entire generation of voices emerge that will transform culture. Kris Vallotton is a father to these voices. School of the Prophets presents a practical methodology for prophetic community and a powerful manifesto for prophetic transformation in this generation."--Bob Hazlett, author, The Roar: God's Sound in a Raging World; Future Perspectives, New Haven, Connecticut

Book The Book of the Former Prophets

Download or read book The Book of the Former Prophets written by Thomas W Mann and published by James Clarke & Company. This book was released on 2012-09-01 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Former Prophets of the Hebrew Bible includes the books of Joshua through 2 Kings; it is a narrative of ancient Israel's history of some seven hundred years from the 'conquest' of Canaan to the exile, when Israel lost the land. Thomas Mann adoptsa critical perspective and incorporates many distinct literary sources from different times into his work. The result is a compelling example of ancient historiography as well as an impressive artistic achievement. The book contains fascinating (andoften horrifying) stories of war, religious fanaticism, terror, and disaster, as well as stories of deep personal loyalty, friendship, and faith. Finally, in a deeply thoughtful and constructive way, The Former Prophets addresses perennial questionslike, amongst others, 'What is the relationship between divine sovereignty and human political institutions?' or 'In what sense are historical events the result of human acts and also of divine Providence?'

Book This Is My Doctrine The Development of Mormon Theology

Download or read book This Is My Doctrine The Development of Mormon Theology written by Charles R. Harrell and published by Greg Kofford Books. This book was released on 2011-08-05 with total page 598 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The principal doctrines defining Mormonism today often bear little resemblance to those it started out with in the early 1830s. This book shows that these doctrines did not originate in a vacuum but were rather prompted and informed by the religious culture from which Mormonism arose. Early Mormons, like their early Christian and even earlier Israelite predecessors, brought with them their own varied culturally conditioned theological presuppositions (a process of convergence) and only later acquired a more distinctive theological outlook (a process of differentiation). In this first-of-its-kind comprehensive treatment of the development of Mormon theology, Charles Harrell traces the history of Latter-day Saint doctrines from the times of the Old Testament to the present. He describes how Mormonism has carried on the tradition of the biblical authors, early Christians, and later Protestants in reinterpreting scripture to accommodate new theological ideas while attempting to uphold the integrity and authority of the scriptures. In the process, he probes three questions: How did Mormon doctrines develop? What are the scriptural underpinnings of these doctrines? And what do critical scholars make of these same scriptures? In this enlightening study, Harrell systematically peels back the doctrinal accretions of time to provide a fresh new look at Mormon theology. “This Is My Doctrine” will provide those already versed in Mormonism’s theological tradition with a new and richer perspective of Mormon theology. Those unacquainted with Mormonism will gain an appreciation for how Mormon theology fits into the larger Jewish and Christian theological traditions.

Book Student Workbook for an Easy Dig Thru 39 Ancient Sites

Download or read book Student Workbook for an Easy Dig Thru 39 Ancient Sites written by Otto Batty and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2007-07 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Otto D. Batty received most of his education from parochial schools. His first nine years were at Bethlehem Christian School in Kennewick, Washington, graduated from Concordia College-High School in Portland, Oregon in 1956. He received his A.A. degree from Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington in 1969, and B.A. degree in Education from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington in 1976. Otto majored in Social Studies with a strong emphasis in History. In 1961 while in Wyoming, Otto developed a great love for the Scripture. Over the years, he read 23 different translations and paraphrases of the Bible. He even read the Bible backwards from Revelation to Genesis. When asked why, he simply replied, "Just for fun." However, he wouldn't do it again or recommend it, saying "It was chronologically distracting." Otto has taught many Sunday School classes to both teenagers and adults. This work emerged out of those life experiences. The more Otto read the scripture the more he became excited about what he "discovered." It was quite a surprise to him to learn so many believers had never read the whole Bible through once. Filled with a hunger to encourage others to read and find the "gems" he found in the Scripture, in 1985 he wrote and taught this Bible Study with a twist. The emphasis is on "discovering the gems," not theology or doctrine. It is fast paced, fun, and simple. Its primary purpose; to encourage believers to apply Romans 10:17, "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God."

Download or read book The School of the Prophets written by Charles Green and published by . This book was released on 2013-11-13 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The School of the Prophets has been written for the purpose of helping the body of Christ understand ministry in light of God's end-time purpose for prophets, prophecy and prophetic ministry. In School of the Prophets we will explore the ministry of the prophet in the Old and New Testament. There will be an emphasis on training, teaching and activating what the Holy Spirit has place within every believer in their gifted place of prophetic ministry. The importance of this subject is seen in Numbers 11:29 when Moses said, "would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the Lord would put his spirit upon them!" It is the heart of God that all spiritual leaders aspire to train, instruct and activate their congregation to hear, perceive, discern and speak forth the mind of the Holy Spirit. Many years later the prophet Joel prophesied of the present hour in which we live when the congregation of the Lord consisting of Jews and Gentiles would be a prophetic people. They would be characterized as having divine ability by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to see and speak God's viewpoint into earthly matters. The School of the Prophets will not make one a prophet, nor will it give the ability to prophesy the direct word of the Lord. It will bring understanding as to how to release the prophetic word of the Lord through the anointing with excellence, grace, character and divine order in the spirit of true humility.

Book An Introduction to the Old Testament Prophetic Books

Download or read book An Introduction to the Old Testament Prophetic Books written by C. Hassell Bullock and published by Moody Publishers. This book was released on 2007-05-01 with total page 478 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Old Testament prophets spoke to Israel in times of historical and moral crisis. They saw themselves as being a part of a story that God was weaving throughout history--a story of repentance, encouragement, and a coming Messiah. In this updated introductory book, each major and minor prophet and his writing are clustered with the major historical events of their time. Our generational distance from the age of the prophets might seem to be a measureless chasm. Yet we dare not make the mistake of assuming that passing years have rendered irrelevant not only the Old Testament prophets, but also the God who comprehends, spans, and transcends all time. In these pages, C. Hassell Bullock presents a clear picture of some of history's most profound spokesmen--the Old Testament prophets--and the God who shaped them.
