Book US Environmental Policy in Action

Download or read book US Environmental Policy in Action written by Sara R. Rinfret and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-02-15 with total page 387 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: US Environmental Policy in Action provides a comprehensive look at the creation, implementation, and evaluation of environmental policy, which is of particular importance in our current era of congressional gridlock, increasing partisan rhetoric, and escalating debates about federal/state relations. Now in its second edition, this volume includes updated case studies, two new chapters on food policy and natural resource policy, and revised public opinion data. With a continued focus on the front lines of environmental policy, Rinfret and Pautz take into account the major changes in the practice of US environmental policy during the Trump administration. Providing real-life examples of how environmental policy works rather than solely discussing how congressional action produces environmental laws, US Environmental Policy in Action offers a practical approach to understanding contemporary American environmental policy.

Book Hunter Biden Burisma and Corruption

Download or read book Hunter Biden Burisma and Corruption written by Senate Committee on Homeland Security and published by Cosimo Reports. This book was released on 2020-09-23 with total page 92 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Hunter Biden is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to examining corruption within the Biden family during the time that Joe Biden was vice president." -Peter Schweitzer, Investigative Journalist on Fox News (January, 2020) The US Senate Committee on Homeland Security and the Senate Committee on Finance released their much-anticipated report Hunter Biden, Burisma, and Corruption: The Impact on US Government Policy and Related Concerns (September, 2020) about Hunter Biden's extensive dealings with Ukraine, Russia, and China while his father Joe Biden served as vice president of the United States. This Republican Majority Staff report provides a roadmap to the Bidens' connections to many questionable foreign individuals and shows how Hunter Biden, his family, and his business partner Devon Archer received millions of dollars from them. Joe Biden's campaign rejected this report for pushing "a long-disproven hardcore right-wing conspiracy theory." Time will tell whether the findings of this report are partisan or will have actual political consequences.

Book Past Im Perfect Continuous

Download or read book Past Im Perfect Continuous written by Alice Balestrino and published by Sapienza Università Editrice. This book was released on 2021-06-25 with total page 388 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Past (Im)perfect Continuous. Trans-Cultural Articulations of the Postmemory of WWII presents an international and interdisciplinary approach to the comprehension of the postmemory of WWII, accounting for a number of different intellectual trajectories that investigate WWII and the Holocaust as paradigms for other traumas within a global and multidirectional context. Indeed, by exceeding the geographical boundaries of nations and states and overcoming contextual specificities, postmemory foregrounds continuous, active, connective, transcultural, and always imperfect representations of violence that engage with the alterity of other histories and other subjects. 75 years after the end of WWII, this volume is primarily concerned with the convergence between postmemory and underexamined aspects of the history and aftermath of WWII, as well as with several sociopolitical anxieties and representational preoccupations. Drawing from different disciplines, the critical and visual works gathered in this volume interrogate the referential power of postmemory, considering its transcultural interplay with various forms, media, frames of reference, conceptual registers, and narrative structures.

Book Agriculture Priorities and Allocations System Us Farm Service Agency Regulation Fsa 2018 Edition

Download or read book Agriculture Priorities and Allocations System Us Farm Service Agency Regulation Fsa 2018 Edition written by The Law The Law Library and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-10-23 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Agriculture Priorities and Allocations System (US Farm Service Agency Regulation) (FSA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Agriculture Priorities and Allocations System (US Farm Service Agency Regulation) (FSA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is establishing the regulation for the Agriculture Priorities and Allocations System (APAS). Food is a critical commodity essential to the national defense (including civil emergency preparedness and response). To avoid civilian hardship during national defense emergencies, it may be necessary to regulate the production, processing, storage, and wholesale distribution of food. Through the APAS rule, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will respond to requests to place priority ratings on contracts or orders (establishing priority on which contracts or orders are filled first) for agriculture commodities up through the wholesale levels, including agriculture production equipment, and allocate resources, as specified in the Defense Production Act (DPA) of 1950, as amended, if the necessity arises. FSA is implementing this rule as a way to redirect the agriculture commodities and resources to areas of hardship or potential hardship due to national emergencies. In most cases, there is likely to be no economic impact in filling priority orders because it would generally just be changing the timing in which orders are completed. This book contains: - The complete text of the Agriculture Priorities and Allocations System (US Farm Service Agency Regulation) (FSA) (2018 Edition) - A table of contents with the page number of each section
