Download or read book International Marketing written by Klaus Backhaus and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2017-03-24 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: International Marketing is an adaptation of a best-selling German text, which considers the global marketing arena from a new and original perspective. It focuses upon international marketing primarily as the coordination of a company's different national marketing programmes. How can for example an exchange of marketing knowledge across borders add value to a company's position in other markets? What impact does the exchange of goods and information across borders by customers have? What effect can 'going international' have on an international cost position? How can lead markets act as a guide to future developments in other countries? International Marketing takes a comprehensive look at all the underlying concepts, using a wealth of truly European examples and substantial case studies.

Download or read book Modeling Information Diffusion in Online Social Networks with Partial Differential Equations written by Haiyan Wang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-03-16 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book lies at the interface of mathematics, social media analysis, and data science. Its authors aim to introduce a new dynamic modeling approach to the use of partial differential equations for describing information diffusion over online social networks. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the Laplacian matrix for the underlying social network are used to find communities (clusters) of online users. Once these clusters are embedded in a Euclidean space, the mathematical models, which are reaction-diffusion equations, are developed based on intuitive social distances between clusters within the Euclidean space. The models are validated with data from major social media such as Twitter. In addition, mathematical analysis of these models is applied, revealing insights into information flow on social media. Two applications with geocoded Twitter data are included in the book: one describing the social movement in Twitter during the Egyptian revolution in 2011 and another predicting influenza prevalence. The new approach advocates a paradigm shift for modeling information diffusion in online social networks and lays the theoretical groundwork for many spatio-temporal modeling problems in the big-data era.

Download or read book Network Journalism written by Ansgard Heinrich and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2011-04-26 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Drawing on current theoretical debates in journalism studies, and grounded in empirical research, Heinrich here analyzes the interplay between journalistic practice and processes of globalization and digitalization. She argues that a new kind of journalism is emerging, characterized by an increasingly global flow of news as well as a growing number of news deliverers. Within this transformed news sphere the roles of journalistic outlets change. They become nodes, arranged in a dense net of information gatherers, producers, and disseminators. The interactive connections among these news providers constitute what Heinrich calls the sphere of "network journalism."

Download or read book Diffusion of Democracy written by Barbara Wejnert and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2014-01-09 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the course and causes of the worldwide diffusion of democracy through an assessment of the political and economic development of individual countries from the year 1800 to 2005. Using this extended range of data and examining multiple variables, Barbara Wejnert creates a conceptual model for the diffusion of democracy and to measure national democratization. The author characterizes each nation's political system, its networking with other countries, level of development, and media advancement, in order to pinpoint what leads to national and regional progress to, or regress from, democratization. Her innovative findings challenge established thinking and reveal that the growth of literacy does not lead to democratization but is instead an outcome of democracy. She also finds that networks between non-democratic and democratic states are more important to a nation's democratization than financial aid given to non-democratic regimes or the level of national development.
