Book The Productive Leadership tm System

Download or read book The Productive Leadership tm System written by Thomas J. Moriarty and published by Industrial Press. This book was released on 2019-11-25 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Typical leadership training never seems to 'move the needle' in terms of creating more effective leaders. That's because the system that supports leadership hasn't changed. To get true improvement in leadership, organizations need to focus on accountability. There must be an asset management system that defines and assigns accountability. Then individual leaders can learn and apply productive leadership. The author has coined and trademarked the Productive Leadership(TM) System (PLS) which includes: *A Productive Leadership Policy*The Organizational Reliability Model(TM) (ORM) *The Productive Leadership Model(TM) (PLM)*A Productive Leadership Development Program The ORM overtly defines and assigns accountability across each leadership level. The PLM identifies the leadership roles, attributes, skills, sources of power and other aspects that productive leaders must master. The development program creates a leadership pipeline for professional development of current leaders and prospective leaders, and on-boarding the right people for leadership positions. The author includes a chapter on the human brain to show that leaders and followers are capable of learning throughout their lives, and the science behind creating habits and cultures. The book has several tools and exercises to help reinforce important concepts. Appendices include details on the Team Effectiveness and Motivation Survey (used in the 2015 Alidade MER/Plant Services Magazine Leadership Survey), an ISO 55000 overview and the Guidance and Execution Model(TM), an example for developing processes and procedures. Features Recommendations for a full Productive Leadership Development Program and training, including: Characteristics of individual leaders: The desire to be responsible and having a personal mission, vision, and values that align with the leadership position. Book Productive Tensions

Download or read book Productive Tensions written by Christopher B. Bingham and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2022-04-26 with total page 181 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How leaders can recast innovation’s toughest trade-offs—efficiency vs. flexibility, consistency vs. change, product vs purpose—as productive tensions. Why is leading innovation in today’s dynamic business environment so distressingly hit-or-miss? More than 90 percent of high-potential ventures don’t reach their projected targets. Surveys show that 80 percent of executives consider innovation crucial to their growth strategy, but only 6 percent are satisfied with their innovation performance. Should leaders aim for Steve Jobs-level genius, shower their projects with resources, or lean in to luck and embrace uncertainty? None of the above, say Christopher Bingham and Rory McDonald. Drawing on cutting-edge research and probing interviews with hundreds of leaders across three continents, in Productive Tensions Bingham and McDonald find that the most effective leaders and successful innovators embrace the tensions that arise from competing aims: efficiency or flexibility? consistency or change? product or purpose? Bingham and McDonald spotlight eight critical tensions that every innovator must master, and they spell out, with dozens of detailed examples of both success and failure, how to navigate them. How do you excite customers about a product they’ve never imagined? When is it wise to accept what the data is telling you, and when should you ignore the data and plow forward anyway? How can you maintain stakeholders’ trust and support during radical unforeseen course corrections? Bingham and McDonald guide readers through innovation’s thorniest tensions, using examples drawn from the experience of organizations as varied as P&G, Instagram, the US military, Honda, In-N-Out Burger, Slack, Under Armour, and the snowboarding company Burton.

Efficiency is accomplishing them with the least amount of time, effort, and cost—doing things right. If you're not clear on both, you're wasting your time. As Drucker put it, “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.” Stack's 3T Leadership offers twelve practices that will enable executives to be effective and efficient, grouped into three areas where leaders spend their time: Strategic Thinking, Teamwork, and Tactics. With her expert advice, you'll get scores of new ideas on how you, your team, and your organization can boost productivity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Productive Leadership is a celebration of the small churches of America and the lasting legacy they have provided for the Christian landscape. Combining attributes of proven leadership with stories from the New Testament, it provides a practical guide for developing and maintaining fruitful ministry and is written for lay and clergy leaders in these small- to mid-size churches. Utilizing experiences from actual ministry situations, it uses both successes and failures to learn how to work together, taking the reader from assessing the cultural values of a church through discerning God's vision for ministry and working together in leadership. Complete with step-by-step exercises for individuals, councils, and committees, the various chapters form a map for developing effective ministry in what often seems to be a futile mission field. Readers are invited to examine leadership qualities by identifying their own characteristics and competencies and how they are best used in working within the ministry of their local church. Well suited for individual readers, it is also a valuable resource for church councils to discover how they can best work together toward the fulfillment of their mission, making the most productive use of their time and resources. Anyone interested in the future ministry of small churches will find this book to be a valuable resource.

Book 5 Ways to Productive Leadership and Impact

Download or read book 5 Ways to Productive Leadership and Impact written by Harold K. Mawela and published by . This book was released on 2019-01-03 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This leadership book is a labor of love in that it explores a new way to be thinking about leadership - a way that is near and dear to my heart. That's because this new way focuses on fostering connection between people, their leadership, and with the company they work for. I spend a lot of my time and energy working within a church culture and the best thing I can imagine receiving from this experience is working with a leader who exemplifies the characteristics I describe in this book. These are the type of characteristics that, as an employee, would allow me the opportunity to enjoy more the work that I do, to thrive at work, to engage with my colleagues on a whole new level, and in the end, be more well-balanced, content, and productive for it. As a leader in my own right, these are also the characteristics that I strive to embrace and to exemplify because I want the people I work with to feel connected to me, to the work we're doing together, and to be the best they can be. We all want connection, we all want to feel valued, and we all want to live a life as stress-free and productive as possible. It's a sad fact, though, that many corporate cultures, as well as small business cultures, are not necessarily focused on fostering a working environment where an employee's wellbeing is paramount. I want to change that. I want to encourage ways to cultivate working environments that are more friendly versus hostile, more genuine versus malevolent, and more open and collaborative versus territorial. A company centered on connection and wellbeing is a stronger company because the ties that bind employees and the leadership together are stronger. And, a stronger company is more apt to weather the tides of market changes, to grow in prosperity, and to build on its successes. Leadership helps drive and foster a connected culture, and that's a good thing for everyone. There are thousands of books, journal articles, blog posts, executive briefs, and tweets on leadership. Leadership is in vogue these days. Academic degree programs in leadership are emerging from everywhere. The International Leadership Association, a professional network association of leadership scholars and practitioners, lists over 2,000 certificates and academic degree programs in leadership alone. There are countless other leadership programs offered through professional development programs, executive coaches and consultants, and university continuing education courses, all dedicated to improving the quality of leadership. However, there is a dearth of literature on leadership that comes from under-represented voices: people of color, women, youth, and non-western voices. I believe that expressions of leadership are all around us, but seldom do we take time to honor and consider their significance. I have spent the latter part of my years researching on leadership and as a Pastor and coach, I am called to live and model its truths. I also conduct leadership seminars, which have afforded me the opportunity to reflect on the practical implications of many of the leadership theories I use in the classroom and the pulpit.
