Book The Perpetual Treadmill

Download or read book The Perpetual Treadmill written by Dean Whittington and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-09-11 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Perpetual Treadmill is a care pathway devised to ensnare the poor within a never ending treatment system for their own good, after they have been labelled with their designated malaise. Once caught within it, similar to Kafkas Trial and Castle, they are wedged within its corridors where they are forever signposted between services. This book draws on the analogies of knights and knaves by building on Bath of Steel to focus on how this system has been constructed and then maintained. To depict its shortcomings, it has been ranged against a psychologically informed perspective (PSIP) to show how those entrapped can eventually exit the perpetual treadmill. But there are numerous vested interests which militate against those clients, duly labelled from ever emotionally recovering. The interplay between politicians, bureaucrats, academics, practitioners and clients is explored to detail how the poor have become a raw material which feeds this machine. This book is relevant to psychotherapists, addiction specialists, psychologists, sociologists, criminologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, social policy experts and nurses.

Book excerpt: If the universe is a seamlessly interactive system that evolves to an assigning of some levelling plexuity, and that, the lawful regularities of this universe are emergent properties of this system; we can legibly assume that the cosmos, as a legitimate point of singularity, as an undivided totality in the contributions for making of its whole. In that, for evincing to the 'progressive principal order' of complementarity, as placed within the intertwining relations within its given parts. Minded that this collective and undivided whole exists in some sense within all contributions of its parts, then one can declare positively or firmly maintain that it operates in self-reflective fashion and is the evidence for all emergent plexuities. Since human consciousness evinces self-reflective awareness in the human brain and since this brain is equivalently matched to all physical phenomena, as this can be viewed as an emergent property in the possessive nature of totality, such that it can be found within the whole for existing by its reason of certainty. As, can be feasible as plausibly concluded, that locality presupposes the consciousness of the universe, as 'we' are conscious to its existing conventions within this prevalent response to approaching the expeditions into which of the past-present-future dimensions, allow to some marginal glimpse into the unthinkable.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hypocrisy replaces virtue when men cover their sins rather than confess them to God. This is all too common when men do not preach and practice a Biblical doctrine of confession. The challenge is first to restore the meaning of confession as taught in the Scriptures. As long as confession is seen as a Romanist doctrine, we have no hope of recovering this vital aspect of Christianity. In this path-breaking volume R. J. Rushdoony examines the Biblical teaching on confession and sets it over against the errors of Romanism and the neo-Freudianism of modern Christian counseling. Despite the subject matter this book is remarkably readable and is sure to empower both clergy and laity as they discover the powerful tool of Biblical confession.

Book Psychologically Informed Environments

Download or read book Psychologically Informed Environments written by Dean Whittington PhD and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2016-11-16 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Psychologically Informed Environments outlines the problems inherent in working with marginal populations, (such as the homeless). The analysis considers the issue of masculinities, and how these are erased within current academic discourses. The key issue is around how emotional recovery is generated using therapeutic techniques based on praxis. It also explores how organisations can be reconfigured to initiate emotional recovery and so stop people moving around the perpetual treadmill. This needs to be undertaken by grounding the client in the present, working on past traumas, those which shape the current lifestyle, whilst thinking about a sustainable future to move into. This involves the therapist moving into the bath of steel the client inhabits. The book sets out to explore some of the problems arising from past interventions and situating a move to an emotional recovery, by rethinking current practices. It raises considerable questions around training, research and the style of the current set of interventions being undertaken. All should be appraised on whether they generate emotional recovery. This can be viewed by the use of case histories to depict the work undertaken and requires the use of phenomenological methods to detail the work.
