Book The Young Girl s Handbook of Good Manners

Download or read book The Young Girl s Handbook of Good Manners written by Pierre Louÿs and published by Wakefield Handbooks. This book was released on 2010 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A bestselling author in his time, Pierre Louÿs (1870-1925) was a friend of, and influence on, André Gide, Paul Valéry, Oscar Wilde and Stephane Mallarmé among others. He achieved instant notoriety with Aphrodite and The Songs of Bilitis, but it was only after his death that Louÿs' true legacy was to be discovered: nearly 900 pounds of erotic manuscripts were found in his home, all of them immediately scattered among collectors and many subsequently lost. Since then, it has become clear that Louÿs is the greatest French writer of erotica there ever was. The Young Girl's Handbook of Good Manners was the first of his erotic manuscripts to see publication, and it also remains his most outrageous--an erotic classic in which humor takes precedence over arousal. By means of shockingly filthy advice--ostensibly offered "for use in educational establishments"--couched in a hilariously parodic admonitory tone, Louÿs turns late-nineteenth-century manners roundly on their head, with ass prominently skyward. Whether offering rules for etiquette in church, school or home, or outlining a girl's duties toward family, neighbor or God, Louÿs manages to mock every institution and leave no taboo unsullied. The Young Girl's Handbook of Good Manners has only grown more scandalous and subversive since its first appearance in 1926.

Download or read book Islam and Violence written by Khaleel Mohammed and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2018-12-20 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After 9/11, many writers have posited the relationship between Islam and violence as either elemental or anomalous. Khaleel Mohammed defines Islam as transcending the usual understanding of religion, being instead like a 'sacred canopy' that provides meaning for every aspect of life. In addition, he shows that violence has both physical and psychological dimensions and expounds at length on jihad. He traces the term's metamorphosis of meaning from a struggle in any worthy cause to war and finally to its present-day extension to include martyrdom and terrorism. Finally, he covers the dimensions of violence in the Islamic law and the institutional patriarchy.

Download or read book Martin Van Maele written by S a Perry and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-04-10 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A French illustrator and engraver from c.1885 until his death in 1926, Maurice Francois Alfred Martin was born in Boulogne sur Seine, France on 12 Oct 1863. He was an obscure artist for many years but that quickly changed after he started illustrating erotic literature under the name he is best known, Martin Van Maele. More than a checklist but perhaps less than a full-on bibliography, this work is as complete as I have been able to make it after years of research. However, it IS a work in progress. Martin Van Maele's erotica illustrations were often unsigned or signed with a pseudonym, done in very limited editions, with the publishers of his work being just as elusive; making it all the more difficult to ever define this list as complete. The book is divided into the types of documents his artwork is found: Books, Portfolios, Periodicals, Cartoons, Bookplates, etc. with each title linked to an example of the artwork (where possible). In addition, there are biographical sketches of Van Maele, Charles Carrington and Jean Fort."

This book was released on 2015-12-02 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Mr. Howard finds his pleasure in devoting his ample fortune to securing as his complete prisoners beautiful and virtuous young ladies, and then with utmost deliberation he subjects them to every form of humiliation his fecund imagination can invent or suggest." When Mrs. Day places her two step daughters in the care of Mr. Howard in return for him paying her sizeable debts it is on the understanding that our protagonist has all freedom to punish the girls as he sees fit. Suspecting her benefactor is naturally taking liberties with the girls, and with her interest piqued as to whether they are bound and naked when he punishes them thus, Mrs. Day requests that she be allowed to be present when their nubile forms are lashed the next time they commit an indiscretion. What our wanton would-be dominatrix witnesses is a grand display of utmost licentious as whip and birch and rod are applied with the wildest of orgiastic abandons. Embarking upon a sea voyage for his next adventure, and with his lusts unsatisfied by his two young Day step-daughters, he turns his yacht to the Mediterranean shores and a Turkish slave auction where he hopes to secure himself another subject for his singular proclivities. But will Miss Penelope Grant fair better under Mr. Howard's lash and will she succumb to her new masters libidinous will enough to take up position in his school? Mr. Howard Goes Yachting, secured by the agents of the infamous publisher Charles Carrington while exiled in Paris and pseudonymously written in 1908 by the author of Maud Cameron and Her Guardian, The Two Lascivious Adventures of Mr Howard, Fantastic Chastisements, and in the same uncompromisingly Sadian vein as The Pleasures of Cruelty and Experimental Lecture (all also available from Locus Elm Press), is a fine example of Victorian flagellation erotica, replete with licentiously graphic prose describing all deeds and devices bound and unbound.

Book A Taste of Honey

Download or read book A Taste of Honey written by Habeeb Akande and published by Rabaah Publishers. This book was released on 2015-08-12 with total page 351 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Taste of Honey provides a scholarly exposition on the prominent place that sexuality and erotology enjoyed in traditional Islam. The book is divided into two parts; part one presents a critical examination of sexual ethics and part two consists of a concise treatise on the art of seduction and lovemaking. The central aim of this book argues that Islam is a sexually enlightened religion which teaches that sensuality should not be devoid of spirituality. The book also argues that the loss of sacred sensuality afflicting modern society can be reclaimed by a revival of the classical erotological tradition. Drawing upon the Qur’ān, ĥadīth and traditional erotological literature, the book follows the style and composition of classical Eastern and Afro-Arab love texts such as the Kama Sutra and Jalāl ad-Dīn aś-Śuyūţī’s erotic treatises. A Taste of Honey is a thought-provoking work on a highly sensitive, yet extremely important subject.
