This book was released on 2006 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Budapest Scottish Mission with its two-fold aim, mission to the Jews and initiating an Evangelical revival in the largest Protestant body had played a remarkable, decisive and unique role in the - long 19th century of the Hungarian Kingdom. This study focuses on how the Scottish Mission implanted British Evangelicalism, German Pietism, voluntary organisations such as YMCA, IFES, WSCF, Sunday School, Women's Guild, social outreach, medical missions, home mission, personal piety, concepts of mission and evangelisation through their Scottish Presbyterianism into Hungary. The study presents the interaction of Scottish Presbyterians, Orthodox, Neolog (Reform and Conservative) and Status Quo Ante Jews of Hungary, and the Hungarian Reformed Protestants. It also discusses their attitudes to conversion, mission, proselytising, education, assimilation, and nationalism. While discussing the Mission's aims, the book pays careful attention to church, institutional, and religious histories. In addition to these, local theologies, ideologies and world-views of the people are scrutinized. Through these issues this study introduces the reader to the daily life of a multicultural community gathered around the Scottish community."

Book The Book of Daniel Unsealed

Download or read book The Book of Daniel Unsealed written by Calev Ben Avraham and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-02-23 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Never before has the biblical book of Daniel been explained as by this author. Thirty years of study and research. This book explains the reason for wars, the loss of the dominions by the great nations. It explains the curse that hangs over the European royals if they marry with none royals: abdication of the throne, fatal accidents, divorce etc. It explains the reason for the slaughter of six million Jews. It explains why Hitler could not be killed by those who plotted to kill him. The book of Daniel predicted the death of Alexander the great, of the Russian royals, of Grace Kelly and the Princess Diana. It also predicts the death of Prince William should he venture on a non-royal marriage. It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the royals of Europe are the last to be on the thrones of Europe and that in their days the kingdom of god is to be re-established in the Holy Land. A fascinating book and a must read for all Bible researchers and scholars.

Book The 70 Weeks of Daniel

  • Author : Gerald Sigal

Download or read book The 70 Weeks of Daniel written by Gerald Sigal and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-12-20 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The interpretation of the Seventy Weeks passage of Daniel 9 has been the center of many discussions between Jews and Christians as to its meaning. These controversies have generally revolved around three areas of dispute: • The division of the weeks • The starting date of the Seventy Weeks • The number of “anointed” individuals mentioned in the text and/or his/their identification. In agreement with the Masoretic accents and textual indicators (e.g. verse 26), Jewish commentators divide the time period into three periods: seven weeks, sixty-two weeks, and one week. The last week culminates with the destruction of the Temple, but with an addendum giving hope for the future. Christian renderings of Daniel generally follow the present-day King James Version’s division into two periods of weeks (sixty-nine weeks consisting of seven weeks plus sixty-two weeks and one week). This is also the position maintained by most Christian commentators in explaining this passage. What is the overall purpose of the Seventy Weeks passage? Is this passage messianic? Who are the two anointed individuals mentioned in this passage? How does its description of things to come and eventual fulfillment centuries later give proof of the eventual fulfillment of all God’s promises to Israel? What message does it hold for Jewish history past and future? Does it refer to Christian eschatological beliefs? Does this passage refer in any way to Jesus? To investigate these questions is the purpose of this volume.

Book The Unfulfilled Prophecy of Daniel 9

Download or read book The Unfulfilled Prophecy of Daniel 9 written by William S. Stob and published by . This book was released on 2017-11-11 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although there have been critics of Scripture in general and the book of Daniel in particular since the earliest times, the attacks became more frequent and vocal with the emphasis on science, which blossomed and grew during and after the Enlightenment of the 18th century. Only that which could be observed and experienced through one's natural senses was of importance; the supernatural was to be doubted. Consequently, in view of the accuracy of the specific events foretold to Daniel regarding the 70 weeks (490 years) determined upon his people and the holy city, many commentators claimed the book was really written centuries after Daniel's time. In other words, they considered the book an historical account, clothed in the garb of prophecy. Yet Christ attributed the authorship of Daniel to the person whose name it bears (cf. Matt. 24:15; Mark 13:14).The prophecy of the 70 weeks has engaged the attention of the wisest and the best of commentators for many centuries, yet the exact dates of the events foretold have never met with any consensus. Although it contains what no other prophecy contains--a prediction of the time when the Messiah was to be crucified--the date has never been exactly computed to the satisfaction of all concerned. As such this book presents three typical interpretations of the 70 weeks: (1) an amillennial explanation, (2) a prophetic or lunar year interpretation, and (3) a common or solar year analysis. The main difference of opinion lies in the nature of the 70th week (the last seven years) of the prophecy. The amillennialist is convinced that God has no future plans for the Jewish nation, apart from a future judgment, and consequently sees the entire prophecy fulfilled at the time of Christ or at least no later than the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. The dispensationalist, on the other hand, believing God is not finished with His chosen people, sees the final week as yet in the future--the fulfillment of which will take place during the Great Tribulation, as described in the book of Revelation.
