Get to know them and their cultural differences. You will find they are nice, intelligent, interesting, and very humorous men and women who have enriched my life. Bridge brought us together, and many have become my friends. My partners have ranged in age from 14 to 94. I have played with doctors, lawyers, and an Indian Chief. There have also been teachers, writers, engineers, miners, ranchers, and scientists in every field. I have played with Bill Gates. People I would never have met within the boundaries of my real life. This is not an all-inclusive list. This is a book for bridge players and everyone else. Internet Bridge has some different rules, which are quickly explained, as are basic facts about the game. However, my focus is on the people. You will find yourself smiling, laughing, and touched by their stories. Variety is the spice of life and you will find it here. Book HIS Eye is on the Sparrow

Download or read book HIS Eye is on the Sparrow written by Shirley D. Andrews and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-04-23 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over three years, Shirley has been growing physically stronger and healthier with my help. Now you have the opportunity to grow spiritually stronger as you enjoy “His Eye is on the Sparrow,” her first devotional. Nicholas Galuardi-Exercise Physiologist, Saratoga Health and Wellness Center. Saratoga Springs, NY. Shirley Andrews has brought forth the greatness of our God through the visualization of nature; through the lives and behaviors of some of God’s most colorful creatures, birds! Shirley brings together her words of wisdom and the power of her prayers as she shares with each new description. As I read the book, I gained a totally new insight into how our God, the Creator of all things, yearns for us to be close to Him. Through the Scripture and the photos we see clearly the loving beauty of God’s creation. I recommend this devotional for people who are looking for the gentleness, sweetness and loving kindness that comes to us through Shirley’s ability to show us the greatness that comes from small things. I encourage each of you to take this devotional each day and see how God will reveal Himself to you and how we along with Shirley journey with her in her relationship with God. This book brings forth the greatness of God on each page! ENJOY! Rev. Patti Molik Elder, Upper New York Annual Conference United Methodist Church Shirley’s wonderful compilation of prayer, Scripture, photography, and devotional reflections, contained in “His Eye Is On the Sparrow,” provided me with a greater respect of the interdependence between humanity and creation and the way in which God’s presence sustains and maintains the fragile balance between the two. This inspiring devotional highlights insightful lessons to each of us through the life of various birds God has gifted to the world. I know I will look at birds differently from now on. Rev. Penny Brink Elder, Upper New York Annual Conference United Methodist Church “Shirley turns our attention to the loving presence of God all around us and encourages us to step out in faith to receive the grace God is waiting to share with us.” Rev. David Martin Elder, Upper New York Annual Conference Hope United Methodist Church, Troy, NY

It consists of 374 one-page devotions chosen from over two decades of religious columns written for the Saturday editorial page of the Temple Daily Telegram, by the Rev. Clyde E. Nichols, Minister Emeritus of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Temple Texas where he served as senior minister for 23 years from 1963 to 1986. The book contains 365 devotions, one for every day of the year, plus eight for movable holidays (Martin Luther King Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, etc.). Each of the devotions is matched with a carefully chosen memory verse from the Bible. Using wonderful stories, humor, Scripture and anecdotes, this book speaks to the real life situations we all confront and helps us do a better job of meeting them. Each of the daily devotions is calculated to lift the spirit, focus the mind, and bring a more positive perspective on all we are facing. It is for young and old alike-children, teenagers, adults, senior citizens. Kept on the coffee table or night stand, LIFT UP YOUR EYES can be read daily with one's devotions or picked up, opened anywhere, and read two or three at a time for comfort, challenge, personal growth, self-development and self-esteem. Book When the World Was New and the Bear Had a Long Tail

Download or read book When the World Was New and the Bear Had a Long Tail written by James Owens and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2009-07 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is not a traditional autobiography. Its contents are letters I wrote to my wife which she laboriously keyboarded using an antiquated computer. It is my remembrances of my childhood and my adolescence years spent mostly in small towns in Oklahoma-Vanoss, McComb, Tribbey, Depew and Twin Oak. Then on the Texas to Amherst and Fielldton. I also include my early adult years and the experiences I had as I searched for, and sometimes found, both labor and love. The labor included cotton, broomcorn, cement plant in Ada, Okla., the Air Force , painting the tall bridges and buildings In New York and Massachuettsand driving big rigs. The love includes three wives. My sister wanted the title of my book to be, Letters from a Far Away Place. I didn't want to change the title. I'll leave it to my readers to decide where the far away place was. It is not part of my story, at least, not for this book. I now live in East Texas. I own and still drive a big rig but I make short trips in order for my wife to go with me.

Book D A L E

Download or read book D A L E written by Don Swinford and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2017-12-04 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tells us that we dont have to look that far to find heroes and inspirations. Just because some make headlines and serve in high places doesnt necessarily make them good people. Look around, as I have, to see why you are as you are. Im proud to be from the grass roots of America. From people who worked in the dirt in an effort not only to make the world a better place but also to make better lives for their children. Struggle was part of life and affected most families, but it also built character and produced individuals who are worthy of remembering and celebrating with a written remembrance.

Book Emotional Integrity

    Book Details:
  • Author : Wayne Quarrier,
  • Publisher : Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.
  • Release : 2024-02-15
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 133 pages

Download or read book Emotional Integrity written by Wayne Quarrier, and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-02-15 with total page 133 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “You shouldn’t feel like that” is a statement that demonstrates ignorance and unkindness, whether intentional or not. It invalidates the expression of the person revealing his or her inherent feelings and exploits that person’s vulnerability. Research shows that this can result in mental health disorders, divorce, suicide, and even mass murders. Everyone has emotional experiences, and all the significant events of life include them; however, the causes and the consequences of emotions are among the least understood and underappreciated aspects of the human experience. Emotional integrity boldly intends to change that. This book presents conclusively that the disciplines of theology, social science, and medical science support the concept of emotional integrity and that the health and well-being of our society depends upon the understanding and acceptance of and adherence to this concept. This will not be an overnight transformation. Centuries of misunderstandings and decades of assertions based on them will need to be challenged until a broad enough base of theologians, educators, and mental health practitioners understand the concept of emotional integrity, accept it, and persuasively promote it. If they are successful, it is very likely that husbands and wives, parents and children, bosses and workers, friends and neighbors will experience healthy and fulfilled personal relationships.
