Download or read book The Truth About Tithing written by Cynthia McClaskey and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-05-14 with total page 85 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Truth About Tithing is designed to give the reader a thorough understanding of tithing in a quick and easy to read book. Using scripture and church history, McClaskey reveals the true nature of the church system and its abuse of this Old Testament Law that only applied to the tribes of Israel. Great care has been taken to scripturally answer the following questions: 1) What is the tithe? 2) Who was supposed to tithe? 3) Who do the tithes really belong to? 4) Were Gentiles supposed to tithe? 5) Is the tithe money? 6) Did God command everyone to tithe? 7) Why are churches teaching that it is mandatory to tithe? Some of the points that McClaskey raises in this book are eye-opening; the conclusions that she draws, astounding. Once one sees the truth behind the lies of the religious system, one can't help but question other doctrines of the church. This is a must read for all denominations.

Book Should the Church Teach Tithing

Download or read book Should the Church Teach Tithing written by Russell Kelly, Ph.D. and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2001-01-11 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Following a thorough examination of every biblical text on tithing, Dr. Kelly concludes that the church would be best served spiritually by believing and applying better New Testament principles of giving. After discussing sound biblical reasons for Christians to replace tithing, he presents God's better principles of grace. Doctrines such as the New Testament concept of law and covenant and the priesthood of believers are presented as they affect tithing. Following several chapters which discuss disputed texts relating to pastoral support, this book traces the early development of church support as found in the Church Fathers before Nicea. This book leaves no question or objection about tithing unanswered. It is a "must read" for any serious Bible student. There is a wealth of other doctrinal insights to be gained as one goes through the Bible in search of the truth about tithing.

Download or read book Tithingism written by Thomas Moore and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2021-05-25 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book has been in the making for 50 years; ever since Thomas Moore found a germ within the tithing doctrine that departed from the Living God. Thomas set out in 1973 to expose where this germ corrupts the basic doctrines of the New Testament, but in so doing he found that he needed to acquire a full understanding of all the primary Christian doctrines. This required reading the entire Bible from cover to cover many times in different translations, as well as compiling an extensive theology library. Years were spent reading entire commentaries, word studies, and systematic theology by various scholars, along with sermons and lessons from the greatest preachers of all time. In 2015 the author finished following the tithing germ through every school of theology and discovered the specific truths of Scripture being violated. In 2015 he began writing the book to refute each false teaching that supports the false doctrine of tithing and expose all of its fallacies, heresies and blasphemies, which was published in November of 2019 as Living Waters from Difficult Passages. The book is very thorough. It not only exposes the heresies and blasphemies, but also contains the popular verses of Scripture that pastor’s abuse, in order to support the tithing practice. This made the book almost 500 pages long. Many people are not interested in a book that large, so the author developed this book as a companion book, which is a quick and easy read; just covering the basic blasphemies of the religious tithing teaching. If reading TITHINGISM peaks your interest for more insights and Biblical evidence into the false teachings of the tithing tradition, then Living Waters from Difficult Passages will satisfy completely.

Book excerpt: C hristian Churches today have misinterpreted Malachi 3:8-12 to mean that God wants each Christian to give 10 percent of his or her gross pay to the church on His behalf. The promise that God will "open the windows of heaven and pour out so much blessings that they will not have room to receive" has caused poor Christians to give sacrificially as they hope for this windfall. This book is the result of a comprehensive study that reveals that God never asked for money for the tithes. God told Moses exactly what He wanted His people to bring for the tithes, and it was never money. The book reveals why God would never have asked for money, and it could be very liberating to learn that you do not have to pay this 10 percent "church tax."

Download or read book The Truth about the Tithe written by Samuel Williams and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-09-16 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Remember, when we meet God, it will be on His terms not ours!I remember sitting on my couch thinking about what I was being shown. The truth was so rending that tears were flowing down my face. I heard a voice clearly say, "Who are you going to believe, men or God's Word?" I was so indoctrinated after receiving so many messages on tithing from men. I was ready to reject the truth in the Word of God and hold on to what I was comfortable with. God took me through a process of showing me how the lies were affecting His children. People were actually turning away from God because of what they were seeing in the churches. God's name was being blasphemed because of the actions of ministers concerning the money. Yet the worst result was that so many ministers were buying into the deception, and being enticed by the riches, that it was causing the gospel to be neglected. America is dying spiritually while many church leaders are occupied chasing after wealth. That is when everything broke and I understood I had to write the truth about the tithes, but it was still a two-year struggle just to get started. During the two-year fight to start this book, God started exposing me to what was happening to Christianity. The churches has become a for profit organizations. Pastors are now motivational speakers patterned after used cars salesmen. Instead of serving the poor, they are rubbing shoulders with politicians and entertainers. Men of God are bragging about being millionaires and even billionaires. Choirs have become rock bands who would play for an hour or two, and in some cases are the focal point of the services. Christians are cheering worship leaders as if they are pop stars. Church organizations are no longer following a five-fold ministry blueprint but have become pushers of schemes to get people to give. This book contains a lot more than just information about the tithe but the tithe is the focal point that everything else revolves around. I am also going to show how unscrupulous ministers have used God's tithing as a method of extracting wealth from God's people for themselves and others. I am not saying that every church and pastor is using the tithe to rob God's people. There are some excellent churches and pastors that are following teachings that just do not line up with scripture, because it's the way they were taught. This is an accumulation of God's words concerning tithing, which will deliver the people of God from those who would make merchandise of them. In today's wealth driven society the people of God have become prey to those who will do and say anything to become wealthy. I will be exposing schemes used by individuals to manipulate God's people for gain. This information will be a shield to protect the parishioners from those individuals. This book is going to be a weapon against deception and a tool to release many from bondage. This will be validation for those who are feeding Christ's flock rather than feeding themselves by devouring the flock. You will be able to recognize characteristics of a true man of God.I am not here to expound on the historical ramifications and the different levels of the evolution of tithing. I am not here to give you a secret formula for the blessings. My motivation for writing this book is to expose the misconceptions and manipulations being fed to the people of God. My methodology is saturation of the truth. Please take this journey with me. I assure you that if you receive God's truth and implement it, you will be freed from the bondage of lies and those that prey on you due to lack of knowledge.Isa 56:11-1211 Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.12 Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.KJV

Book Why Christians Should Not Tithe

Download or read book Why Christians Should Not Tithe written by James D. Quiggle and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2009-08-01 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The premise of Why Christians Should Not Tithe is simple: God, having freed his people from the Law through faith in Jesus Christ, does not place on them a burden from the Law. The thesis is equally as simple: Christian giving is not a tithe. Christ challenges the believer to give himself and his possessions to the gospel cause, but the tithe fixes a limit and implies nothing more is needed. Why Christians Should Not Tithe is a thorough discussion of the four tithes in Moses' Law, Jesus' comments on tithing, and the twenty-one principles of giving developed by the apostles' in Acts and the epistles. Included is a brief review of the history of tithing from post-apostolic times to the present. The book concludes with a new paradigm for giving not based on the tithe, but on the apostles' doctrine of Christian giving. Should Christians tithe to support the gospel? Here is a study that will help every Christian discover the biblical answer for him or her self.

Book excerpt: “‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’” — Malachi 3:1 0 In these uncertain economic times, does it really make sense to tithe? Douglas LeBlanc thinks the answer is clear enough in Malachi 3:10, where God goes so far as to tell us, “Test me in this.” The people profiled in this book have done exactly that—and the effect on their lives has been dramatic. In these intimate journalistic portraits, LeBlanc shows us true tithing in action. From members of the clergy, to best-selling authors, to social activists both conservative and liberal, these are the lives of real people who tithe in joy and plenty, in the face of poverty and natural disaster, in community and missionally, and as a spiritual practice commanded by God. They come from different backgrounds and live in varying degrees of financial comfort; but they all tithe—and wouldn’t have it any other way. Through their eyes, we come to understand this ancient practice as God’s call to a life of generosity, compassion, and joy. THE ANCIENT PRACTICES There is a hunger in every human heart for connection, primitive and raw, to God. To satisfy it, many are beginning to explore traditional spiritual disciplines used for centuries. . .everything from fixed-hour prayer to fasting to sincere observance of the Sabbath. Compelling and readable, the Ancient Practices series is for every spiritual sojourner, for every Christian seeker who wants more.

Download or read book The Great Tithing Scam written by A. Bruce Wells and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2006-07 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some have said that the word scam is too strong for a book that argues against the church's most sacred cow, but scam is exactly the right word because tithing has been put forth as a duty that will earn that which Christ suffered and died to freely give us. Not only is it wrong to suggest that tithing will do what Christ died to do, such as open heaven or make one right with God, but such teaching is an insult to His sacrifice and in reality, an enemy to the Cross even as circumcision was in the early church. Our ministers have been naively leading the church back under the Old Testament Law, and its curse, with imagined tithing promises that have gone way beyond even that which Malachi promised. Under the guise of obedience, faithfulness and stewardship, we've been duped into believing we must prove ourselves without realizing that practicing the Law (tithing) blocks us from becoming sons and heirs according to Galatians 4: 5. Do you know that The book of Malachi was never intended to be instruction to the New Testament church? All the ordinances in Malachi (including tithing) were nailed to Jesus' cross, according to Colossians chapter 2? Tithing is part of the Law according to Matt. 23: 23, Malachi 3: 7, and Hebrews 7: 18? The practice of tithing, the Law, can expose you to the curse of the Law causing incurable sicknesses, debt, death, and many other problems, according to the Apostle Paul in Galatians 3: 10? The practice of tithing actually removes you from the state of grace and places you back the category of sinner? Hebrews 5: 4 Tithing causes you to frustrate the grace of God, and causes Christ to profit you nothing? Galatians 2: 21 and 5: 2 Making tithing a practicetoday actually causes the New Testament to become another gospel according to Paul in Galatians 1: 6? Order The Great Tithing Scam today and find out what else tithing will or won't do.

Must a tithe go only to your local church, or can it be received by any Christian organization? Do we tithe on the net or the gross amount? Perspectives on Tithing presents in point-counterpoint format the most common views about how Christians are to give of their financial resources, addressing the myriad of questions that surround the complex issue.
