Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although I attended church most of my life, I was lost: I looked at the sky and asked, "Who are you? Tell me what to do, and I will do it." Those words and the actions that followed unlocked the pathway to knowing God, hearing His voice, and reaping the rewards of doing His Word. True personal stories reveal the truth of God's Word, the importance of understanding it, and the spiritual progress accomplished by actually doing it. Any reader will identify with the journey because there is nothing special about the author, yet the responses from God are extraordinary. Endorsements: Scott's spiritual journey and the building of his relationship with the one true God is one that any man or woman can relate to. This book is a compelling revelation of what God can do to transform our human and sinful nature into a life that is spiritually deep, rich, and abundant through obedience to God's Word. Scott provides a practical approach on how to execute that obedience and thus have a deeper and more meaningful relationship with our Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ. The personal examples and revelations that the Lord imparted to Scott through people, places and circumstances shows us that our Lord meets us right where we are, and teaches us what we can do to follow him and have a more intimate relationship with him. I pray the Lord will use this book to lead many souls to Christ and I thank God for Scott's perseverance and discipline in completing this work. Nancy A. Cline, Senior Human Resources Leader. Scott Harris is evidence that God will take an honest challenge! Proving change in life is possible no matter how late we ask, Scott was willing to do whatever He said. Scott precisely records each step of what he heard from the Lord on disciplines to practice, confirmed in the living Word and by his response of obedience. He wants others to be able to discover God is faithful to change and use us if we are serious to follow His ways. I found his testimony easy to read; it piqued my curiosity and stimulated questions from within. This book is just the beginning for Scott; I am counting on more discoveries by this warrior. Christia Ashmore, Global Media Outreach Missionary. About the Author: Scott thoroughly enjoys hiking with his wife in the captivating scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains with endless trails that lead to waterfalls and breathtaking views. He finds many correlations between hiking through the forest and the spiritual journey of following Christ. Scott and Gigi enjoy a wonderful family of five children and eleven grandchildren living mostly in New England, albeit excited to visit this land known as "God's Country."

Book The Making of a Prayer Warrior

Download or read book The Making of a Prayer Warrior written by Barbara L. Daubon and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-08 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Making of a Prayer Warrior was written in response to the many people who not only asked me for handouts at the end of a presentation at prayer conferences, but also send me prayer requests from time to time. The book aims to address the rudiments of prayer, using the Bible as the main reference. I tried to cover in simple basic terms enough information to take the baby' Christian from a life of no prayer to being a mighty prayer warrior. I have sought to address topics such as: What is prayer, Biblical examples of answered prayers, personal preparation for prayer, becoming a prayer warrior, the prayer group, types of prayers, and how to get your prayers answered. I have written from my own experience as a praying person and can say with much confififi dence that God is waiting on us to call unto Him. He still stands on His word in 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven ,and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Download or read book Making a Spiritual Warrior written by Evan Trinkle and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-09 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Making of a Warrior Bible Study and its designated parts outline a process that will shape, mold, forge, and transform your daily life with God. Every man's life consists of a journey that will present many crossroads, options, or choices. These intersections in life can be challenging. Often they become defining moments in our life that take us down a road we never intended to travel. Based on one's choices, the result can be a blessing or a curse, good or evil, increase or decrease. Let this study be a starting point in your life, from which you will make wise decisions that will impact your life in a positive way. It is my greatest desire for your life to be transformed by this study, whether through personal encounters and responses to the challenging questions or just by listening to responses of others around you if involved in a group study setting. My passion is that you will be a man after God's own heart. Allow yourself to be influenced by the Word of God. Let the Holy Spirit of God give you guidance, wisdom, and instruction to navigate successfully through your daily life. It is essential to humble yourself in order to receive all that God has for you through this study. Life is not about how you start, but how you finish! What others say about the study: My dear brother in Christ, I congratulate you! You are about to embark on a journey of life-changing proportions. This bible study will deepen your understanding of God's Word and its life-enhancing and life-changing truth. The Christian life is a journey. Most of the time a journey is completed in stages. Stages indicate that there is a process involved in reaching the destination. In the Christian life, the destination is holiness of life. God uses his divine process to bring us to holiness. This process involves his methods that will take us step by step to where he accomplishes his purpose for our life. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I [God] have a plan [process and purpose] for you and it is a good plan-a plan to prosper you." Like any journey one decides to take, there is anticipation or dread. The journey can be delightful or a drudgery. Your attitude in this study will determine its impact upon your life. My prayer is that as you engage in this study of God's Word, you will recognize it as one aspect or event of God's divine process to lead you toward a life of holiness. If you will allow God to work in your life, he can and will use this study to move you closer to knowing him more intimately. So, my brother, I encourage you to anticipate and enjoy God's revelation for your life. Steve Gehring To the reader and student of "Making a Spiritual Warrior"," I would like to provide you with my strongest endorsement of this study. I think you'll find, as I did, that you will be challenged as you progress through these lessons. During this study, you will have to look inward and examine your relationship not only with God but also with your family and those you call friends. I know you will find, as you participate with your group, that the author has provided you with the biblical tools to become the strongest warrior and man after God's own heart you possibly can be. I was personally challenged by the study to take a hard look at my relationship with the Lord. By answering honestly the questions in the lessons, I understood that my own walk had blind spots that needed to be addressed in order for me to grow closer to God. I challenge you to have the courage of a warrior and to use this study to examine your own walk. Enjoy the study and your journey as you discover just what it takes to become a warrior for Christ. Challenge yourself and those in your group to answer the questions without fear or judgment. Decide for yourself today that you will finish what you have started and learn as much as possible from God's Word. See you on the high ground. Joel Hardin

Download or read book The Christian Warrior written by Isaac Ambrose and published by Digital Puritan Press. This book was released on with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Christian Warrior, Isaac Ambrose (1604–1664) provides armament and strategy to fight our tireless adversary, the devil. He begins by showing, from Ephesians 6:12, how all God's people are warriors engaged in a battle, that our enemy is both powerful and malicious, and that we must wrestle and strive hard against him. He then gives specific examples of how Satan attacks us at different stages of life: in childhood, at our first conversion, during the prime of life, and at the time of death. Ambrose gives practical, point-by-point advice throughout the book on how to cope with these attacks. He illustrates how Satan attempts to foil the believer coming to Christ at each stage of his conversion. He then shows how Satan tries to convince the doubting believer that his conversion is not genuine, and how to answer those arguments. He continues by showing how to endure persecution, how to resist temptations of the flesh (lust, pride, anger, condemning others, dishonest gain), and how Satan attempts to exploit the special vulnerabilities of both weak and strong Christians. He concludes by preparing the believer for "the final battle" in the hour of his death (which is often his most intense time of attack), by illustrating how to avoid the extremes of presumption and despair. Even readers not accustomed to Puritan works will find Ambrose's warm and engaging style both eminently useful and Christ-exalting. Much more than a copy-paste-publish e-book, this Digital Puritan Press reprint has been carefully edited from the original scans. The more difficult language has been smoothed out to make it more accessible to the modern reader. Every Scripture reference is also hyperlinked as an endnote in the ESV version (no internet connection is needed). Includes a helpful biographical preface to the life and times of the author.
